Con artists who don’t follow the law

Don’t know how Trading Standards aren’t investigating this dodgy outfit. They fit smart meters on behalf of landlords & caravan site owners so they can read the meters remotely for the landlord - saving the landlord time & money. But then they try to force YOU to pay for this not the landlord/ caravan site owner. Even if you dont have to pay for meter reading coz its in not in your contract, these chancers keep billing you and then cut off off saying you’re in arrears! For something you didnt agree to in the first place and don’t contractually have to pay!!! Basically POWUtilities force you into a contract (which is against fair trading law) and charge the tenant upwards of £300 a year for their “services” which they re carrying out for the landlord not the tenant. They need looking at - preying on vulnerable people in HMOs and caravan parks demanding money from people who don’t have to pay for meter reading in their contracts. You try telling them this and they just cut you off. No one answers the phones. Bills are late or non existent. Total con artists and their accounts online suggest they’ll be busy in a few years.

What a pile of crap this company is. They fail in every aspect of running a company. They DO NOT answer calls, emails just a rip off. Expensive electric plus 41p per day per utility. If you don’t pay your bill you will be cut off and the only way to pay is online. Do no sign up to this greed company.

Unreliable meters, poor service, ignorant & rude staff

This company are scammers pure and simple. They fit digital sub-meters to residential park homes and holiday caravans and charge 41p per utility per day for using these, even though my contract with the park home site owner doesn’t allow any such charge. Their meters trip constantly so you don’t have a reliable electric supply and they don’t send out paper bills, even when you ask for them l, and they only offer online payment of your bills. I’m in my 80s and not competent using the internet for much so I haven’t had a bill for 18 months and I don’t know how to pay online. They ignored all my letters requesting paper bills and disconnected my gas and electric remotely over summer to force me to pay despite me never having received a bill from them or a statement showing what I owe! They just ignore park home law and disability discrimination law and do what they want, exploiting the elderly and vulnerable who live on park home sites. They should be shut down! Probably go bust soon anyway as charging park home residents service charges is illegal unless your contract with the site owner says you have to pay a service charge. POWUtilities obviously haven’t done their homework and don’t know the law in the park home sector which doesn’t fill you with confidence. Park home and holiday park home owners should beware of using this company as their meters are unreliable, their customer service is terrible and they don’t know the Lenin the sector. Residents who have their meters fitted should refuse to pay their service charge, get advice from LEASE and take them to a tribunal.

This company rip off customers…

This company rip off customers installing inferior equipment and making charges that are not legal and forcing you to use their online system or sending you letters asking for payment when you don;t know what your paying for. As a previous review says they then cut you off if you don’t pay with only very short notice. You can never get hold of staff and when you do they lie to you. Trading standards need to look at how this company operates. They need to look up rules and regulations before installing their stuff they particularly prey on Park Homes and Caravan sites. Awful company and if I could give them 0 stars I would.

Shocking company with no regard for the law. They got sub-standard metering equipment on park homes and static caravans and charge through the nose for forcing you to use an online system you don’t want and that’s impossible to understand. Management ignore all complaints and don’t answer emails or phone calls then they remotely disconnect you.
