Disrespectful and "silence treatment" people...

Hello,

I’m reaching out to express my concern about how my recent experience with your website was handled. I attempted to submit several posts, none of which were approved, and I was eventually banned for “advertising.” However, I want to clarify that I did not promote or advertise anything in any of my submissions.

What’s most disappointing is the complete lack of communication. At no point was I contacted or given any explanation. This kind of silence and abrupt action feels deeply discouraging and, frankly, quite disrespectful.

My main reason for writing now is to request a proper explanation: what exactly was flagged as advertising? I would appreciate a response and a chance to clarify.

Thank you for your time,
Liliya

An inherently toxic, outdated platform moderated by egocentric individuals.

I want to echo the sentiments of others who've reviewed the aviation forum site known as Pprune.
An inherently toxic and out-dated platform with very few real aviation professionals posting on there nowadays. A lot of the old members no longer post due to the egocentric moderators who behave like school bullies on the site. They won't accept any criticism of their bullish attitudes. There are a number of toxic members on the forums who make the whole experience poor and unwelcoming to others. There is often harassment from certain individuals, the ones we've all met in life who think they 'know it all' that unfortunately the aviation world seems to attract. Keyboard warriors types, most likely be hiding in their mum & dad's box room behind their keyboards giving it 'the biggun'. Knowing only too well they'd last two minutes in the real world with their online personas and arrogant attitudes.
One particular member who is so unhinged that he feels the need to constantly harass other members via direct messaging - The platform is so out-dated that it's not possible to block these odd individuals. I have been a victim of their harassment, so you have been warned! The moderators will not assist, but are it seems happy to enable such behaviours from these members.
The platform hasn't changed at all since the early 00's, unlike the rest of the cyberworld that has advanced over the years. It's an extremely out-dated platform, clunky and not exactly user friendly in more ways than one. Occasionally useful information from the few good eggs that are still on there, but in reality you can get a lot of the information from other sources including X and other friendlier aviation sites.

To summarise; An inherently toxic platform moderated by egocentric individuals who couldn't manage a piss-up in a brewery, let alone moderate a so called 'professional' forum.

You have been warned.

To whoever runs Pprune, I hope you find the reviews on Trustpilot useful. Your platform seriously needs updating along with the delusions of grandeur amongst your moderators and certain forum members. It's not just one review either, it's the majority that echo the sentiments above.

Appallingly moderated

Appallingly moderated. A sounding board for ego driven fantasists. Utter waste of time. There are very few plausible professional pilots posting. Most have long gone.

The site is run by Luddites whose fear…

The site is run by Luddites whose fear of AI technology has resulted in a laughable rule that any post mentioning AI gets deleted or not approved for posting.

Although this sounds too crazy to be true, my post pointing out (quite accurately) that AI has now developed to the point where it could do a better job of keeping aircraft separate in the sky than fallible humans using unclear voice comms over radio and that this would be a safer system was deleted with the comment “your post about AI is not welcome on PPRuNe, this forum is for people, not AI”.

An utterly brainless and nonsensical comment from the moderator team which reveals a Luddite attitude quite incompatible with the piloting profession, which is one where those who are able to understand and relate to engineered technologies thrive.

Overall I find it likely that a forum run by such empty headed, stuck in the past luddites who wish to deny and ignore progress in technology and cling to a bygone age is likely to die out and become irrelevant, so I do suggest you don’t waste your time visiting this irrelevant website.

Best point of reference on the web

Been a member for 21 yrs.
I have been sin binned quite correctly for ill thought out posts. The comments from the previous person are in fact the absolute opposite of how Pprune is. Very strict and puts up with zero nonsense.
Love it ! My first point of reference every single day !

Deceiving posts

They allow anybody to write whatever they want without fact checking. Many people are named and reported as scammers without any proof of that

Pprune is run by named and shamed…

Pprune is run by named and shamed “Robin Lloyd” and his sidekick “Patrick Stack”, of internet brands. Both are vile scum who allow hard working pilots to be named and shamed. They actively supported two jailed fraudsters on the biz-jet forum allowing them to blackmail people all for advertising revenue. It’s lucky I’ve not bumped into either of these petty criminals who are in their own world conducting illegal and blackmailing heresy against others.

The site is on a decline

The site has in the past often made for interesting reads.
More recently it has given space to increasingly unprofessional and sometimes even toxic posts.
This poorly serves the general interests of the community of professional airline pilots.

Could be a great forum

Could be a great forum. Loads of experienced professionals and enthusiastic amateurs there willing to discuss any topic.

Unfortunately the moderators are VERY unpleasant. You play by their rules or your account gets restricted or banned. Fine, except heir rules seem to vary day to day!

It's a bit like being at primary school... You do what the bully says or he takes his ball home to punish everyone!
