I received a letter off this company BW…

I received a letter off this company BW LEGAL who i have now found out are part of this company saying that I owed £801 for British gas, for a property that me and my wife rented. We have provided them with evidence over and over again to prove that we did not live there in the time period they have given us. We have proved that we were living somewhere else, with documentation such as tenancy agreements, council tax statements. The utility bills were never in my name as they were in my wife's. When we moved out we gave the final readings etc and ironically British gas owed us £900 in my wife's name.
We have even given them the landlords name, telephone and address and they have not acted on this. After we moved out the landlord has left the property empty till selling it 8 months later. I think the landlord hasn't updated the responsibility and BW LEGAL have just picked my name off the electoral role and pursued me, despite all the evidence we have supplied them with. We have now received an email today 03/06/2025 saying that once again the further evidence we have supplied is still not good enough. I am now starting to feel harassed by this company and feel that they will never be satisfied until I cave under the pressure to pay a bill that isn't mine.
We have now contacted a solicitor to get legal advice on a counter process, to pursue legal costs for when we attend a ccj court, loss of earnings and stress caused. We are also contacting the Fca with a complaint and any other authority this company should answer too.

BW legal and PRAC finance ltd beware!

BW legal and PRAC finance ltd are the same company owned and controlled by the same people.
Now they may well be buying genuine debts or they may be farming our information from various sources but whatever you do dont pay them anything without them providing evidence of any alleged debt.
Hit them with a subject data access request ( PRAC,BW legal and whatever company they claim the original debt came from) demand from them to provide any and all information they hold on you specifically ask PRAC for how much did you buy this specific debt for.
If they fail to respond report them to the ICO for failure of GDPR. Report PRAC to the FCA and BW legal to the Legal services ombudsmen.
Dont pay without proof the money is owed.

Appointed bwlegal to chase a debt from…

Appointed bwlegal to chase a debt from e.on on the address I now own, with no details of the debt. I know the e.on debt was from the previous owners because we contaced e.on at the time and I also changed supplier as soon as I got into the property and gave meter readings. e.on prac financial and bwlegal should get this sorted instead of sending out bad debt collection letters to unsuspecting people.
