Not a cuckoo sounds = false marketing
I received a cuckoo clock as a present. It is sleek, gorgeous and a modern version of a traditional cuckoo clock with a pendulum and a wee bird (albeit the bird is just for show).
It looks great but a bit of a let down as it doesn’t make a cuckoo sound. It makes the sound of a tweety bird. It’s false marketing as nowhere on the box does it indicate that it is anything other than a cuckoo clock NOT a tweety birdy clock.
You would only know if you went on Present Time’s website and played a noise to hear what it was like.
As my clock was bought from a local shop here in Scotland it’s just not something anyone would even think to do. I contacted the company and they said it was very popular and they do have other clocks that make a traditional cuckoo sound however these don’t look like traditional cuckoo clocks.
Suffice to say though I love it as it’s a lovely clock and the bird sound is nice, I am nonetheless disappointed that it is not a cuckoo sound as all marketing would suggest. I love cuckoos and the sound they make and had always coveted having one from a young age.
So be aware what you’re buying and check what sound it makes lest you too are disappointed.
