If I could give no stars I would

If I could give no stars I would , got offered a job working as part of a team for a gentleman near me , did nearly all the e-learning except two as I couldn’t get them on any device , manager told me it was me but it definitely was not on my side , anyway weeks went by and it was the training day , headed down to training only to be told by email it was cancelled so headed back and was told a date would be sorted soon , two days later the company i originally applied too who finds carers for prestige rang to say if I was happy with everything and all they were waiting for was a date for training, fast forward a week I emailed the manager to ask for an update on training and got told that there was no training as of yet and to wait , fast forward another week I emailed again as it had been over a month and I got told sorry the gentleman passed away we will get in touch for any jobs , well I’m sorry but the way I have been treated by this company is a disgrace , no communication at all and to be told to just wait for a care package to happen is ridiculous, they are a n awful company and I actually think I’ve dodged a bullet , plus if you go on the actual Prestige Nursing and Care reviews on their website you will find the manager has given 5 stars , the owner has given 5 stars and I’m assuming a family member of the manager has given 5 stars and everyone one else that has given 5 stars work for the company , so do not believe the 5 star ⭐ company

This company should provide person…

This company should provide person centred care to complex clients and ever since new appointed manager AS I could just initial. There is no word I could describe how unlawful treatment towards vulnerable clients.
Safeguarding arise with multiple concern regarding on how the management dealt with the client in unprofessional manners. CQC involved, Social Services involved despite on section 42, I don’t know how this person still working in care industry and yet managed to call itself “mental health nurse” instead mentally disturbed individual with no dignity, no integrity, unprofessionally within it own role as a branch manager. Blaming clients and furthermore, HR never dealt the issue in professionally manners or even timely manners. The pay for living carers is shocking and in my point of view is more like modern slavery abuse towards employees. Financial abuse towards clients whichever they could make more money and pay less for their employees and some of them did not feel appreciate or even get pay correctly.

Poorly led, treat carers appallingly, operates a blame culture

This company were commissioned to provide 24 hour complex care for a relative over a two year period. In the first few months they were excellent but the leadership and coordination changed and on appointment of a new branch manager, things rapidly deteriorated. All the experienced staff who had worked for the company for a long time in the main office left which is an indicator of a toxic workplace culture. Those that didn’t leave went on long term sick leave citing work related stress and have since left.

A succession of poorly trained and often incompetent agency workers were brought in to provide live in care for my relative leading to huge safety issues and a section 42 adult safeguarding complaint with adult social services and a major investigation by the CQC. Complaints were upheld and a raft of improvements recommended to bring the service up to scratch. These areas included compliance, risk management, quality of care, education and training and management and leadership to name a few . Despite the company suggesting they would make considerable improvements for the client it was too far gone to salvage as confidence and trust was completely broken. The client had often been blamed, scapegoated and gaslit for the failings of the branch to provide person centered safe and effective care.

The staff who became the main care team when agency staff were not used, were excellent. Kind, caring and focused on the clients needs. Many of these had filed grievances and complaints with HR about the poor relationship with their manager that were not dealt with effectively by HR and were unresolved. Some felt they were blamed and several had disputes over their pay and contracted hours. They have all left the company since the contract moved to another care provider.

The company always had an excuse and in records seen they blamed the client for being difficult rather than taking responsibility for their own poor practices. They run outdated recording systems that are still paperbased and take their staff away from looking after the client as they have so many admin tasks to fulfil. They could be using apps to record their activities which take less time and focus on freeing carers up to provide good care instead.

If you or your loved one has serious complex care needs please select your care provider very carefully and make sure you investigate how well the provider pays and treats its staff and observe how they interact with the client BEFORE you accept them.

Lack of Consideration. One of this company's employees parked…

One of this company's employees parked a marked vehicle outside a small park in Eastbourne blocking one of the entrances/exits to it, making it probably impassable for someone physically disabled and definitely so for a wheelchair user. This was actually illegal as well as inconsiderate. When I contacted them by email their reply was "The vehicle has now been moved." No apology or comment that I was correct in my concerns.

Because I have worked in care for a long time, as well as being involved in the care of my then wheelchair bound partner before she died I am aware of how upsetting a blocked path or exit can be. As this was their reaction to something concerning ill individuals, it makes me wonder how good their actual care would be. You can tell a long about people by how they behave when they think it doesn't matter.

Wakefield Branch is the jewel in the North

I have my care & support given by the Wakefield branch. The Manger Zoe is absolutely fantastic and she always has time for me should I wish to speak to her as do all the other staff. This filters down to her staff in the office, i can honestly say they are the best company for empathy and care i have ever had dealings with.

The team I have with me are just like family, they are very aware of me and my emotions. They are so caring and I am not sure anyone knows the word ‘No’ because whether its from the branch or my family of carers no-one ever says it as nothing is too much trouble.

My care family are empathetic, respectful, caring, friendly, just generally lovely people

Not sure Prestige Head Office realise what they have in the jewel up North otherwise known as Prestige Nursing & Care Wakefield branch
