Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with unexpected payments and issues with subscription management. Customers frequently reported unexpected recurring charges after an initial small payment for postage, often for competition-related items. They also experienced difficulties contacting the company for refunds or to cancel these subscriptions. Some people were dissatisfied with the price, noting discrepancies between advertised subscription costs and the amounts actually charged. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that the competition entry process was straightforward and found the phone representatives helpful.

Too Good to be True

I just want to thank the users of TP for sharing reviews. I entered the TV comp they've just called me and asked me to read out my card details which I instantly hung up on she claimed to put me on hold whilst this was happening but I could very much hear everyone in the background. I had entered their final stages of a comp and whilst doing so I am able to receive 30 lotto tickets and puzzle books.. she had me until she asked me to say my bank details correctly. Not on. Glad I came on here. If something's too good to be true don't believe it.

CONCERNING this PUZZLEPLAYONLINE I did report them 2025 to Trustpolit.com and ITV I did have three £19.95 plus 3 out of my bank and reported it as a SCAM to bank and money returned. I have previously reported on Trust Pilot about Puzzleplayonline and they have been reported to ITV but it was back on ITV last week. Shame on ITV for letting these people put it back on tv. SCAMMERS

I think I’ve been scammed like the…

I think I’ve been scammed like the majority of the reviews on here! I entered the “free” competition advertised on T.V then received a phone call from a lovely sounding lady to say I’d won the first stage of their prize & to receive my prize of lottery tickets & a puzzle competition book I just need to pay £1.95 for the postage & my parcel should arrive within 5 days. As she sounded nice & I had entered the competition in the first place I thought why not. It’s been 10 days now & no parcel! The worrying thing is she said there was also a subscription of £19.99 pm and if I wanted to cancel the information would be contained within the envelope! I called my bank yesterday to tell them all this & they said I need to call Puzzleplay online first and looked up the number for me which is 01273094986. I decided to call my bank again today as I read on one of the reviews calling Puzzleplay online was a waste of time so my bank has cancelled my card so no more payments can be taken.

scam

My mum just came through to me asking about providing her sort code and account number over the phone to this competition she saw on itv. I work for a fraud dept in a bank myself and queried why these details would be required as normally its for the set up of a direct debit, the caller denied this and stated it was just for the 1.95 delivery charge which clearly is not the case. This is a scam to take larger sums out your account for false lottery tickets! Do not engage.

Be very very carefull..

I entered the TV draw and a week later I had a call ( they were persistently ringing ). Congratulations they said you have made it to the next stage of our draw.. As a well done we would like to send you multiple lottery tickets and some puzzle books, all they ask is for a £1.99 postage fee.. something smelled fishy, giving so much away yet they needed a small postage fee.. Alarm bells started ringing as once they have your bank details you don't know if they are going to take £1.99 or £199.. when I asked this the response was we have been on TV for over 7 years and are a reputable company.. I asked what there name was again, googled it, seen the horrific trust pilot reviews and mentioned this to them then the line went dead.. Very dodgy..

Firstly I would like to thank others for leaving reviews here on this company. It helped ! My elderly parents informed me that payments had been taken from there credit card to Puzzleplayonline. I was able to google this company and contact them direct to cancel this what seems to be a subscription. My parents had no idea how this started, only that they thought there were getting free puzzle books delivered. The first payment was £1.98 but then they started taking £19.95 each 2 weeks. This went on for 10 payments before they told me. There was no line of any communication, no thing at all apart from these payments going out. We had to ring the bank as it was scam and in turn the bank froze all my parents cards and bank access. They were told it may take up to 10 days to get new cards. They have been unable to get shopping or buy any thing. This should be allowed. This company target the elderly and just take their money !

Scammers even took out a phone contract using my details

I've had the same experience as everyone else.

We entered the competition thinking it was part of ITV , like all of you guys say to !

Unfortunately, they used my details to take out a mobile contract. So double check your banks for things etc.
I've been able to sort it all out but was head banging.

I reported it to ITV who said they could do nothing about it because it is not one of their competitions.

I reported it to itv competitions who did nothing about it .

My advice is , report it to action fraud , the more people who have this problem with this company, the more they can look into it.

Also I have taken my experience to Rip off Britain.

Again, the more of us , that go to them , the more they can help people like us , we know how fab they are .

Just remember, there's so many many scammers out there .

Beware of ITV Advertisements Featuring the Word Search Puzzle

I’m really embarrassed to admit that I fell for this scam! I initially thought it was legitimate because it was an ITV advertisement. After a phone call reassured me that I was a winner and only needed to pay £1.95 for delivery, I felt excited. However, what I received was a puzzle magazine along with a few raffle tickets and so-called lottery tickets to join a syndicate. I thought, “Great!”
I was assured that there would be no additional fees, but then I discovered that they were withdrawing £19.95 from my Barclaycard account every month. Thankfully, I called my bank immediately, and they placed a block on this company, but I lost the initial £1.95. I'm not sure who to report this scam to or how to stop it. They clearly target older people like me. PLEASE BE AWARE!

Luckily I didn’t fall for the scam

Luckily I didn’t fall for the scam. Got a call asking to pay £1.95 like many on the reviews. I said I don’t hand my car details out over the phone and she hung up on me. I can’t believe ITV allow our company like church Castle to advertise in between their programs. I have reported them.
