Denying crash history of vehicle
I paid a deposit to secure a vehicle after it was described to me as an excellent, clean example with no history of damage.
After leaving the deposit, I carried out further independent checks through CarVertical, which indicated two recorded damage incidents. I raised these findings promptly and asked the dealer to provide clarification or independent inspection evidence, however this was not provided and they denied damage.
As a result, I requested return of my deposit. The matter is now being pursued through the small claims court.
I have clear proof of payment to the dealership. During proceedings it has been stated that the payment was not received, which forms part of the dispute currently under review.
The vehicle has since been sold to another buyer, however my deposit has still not been returned.
I would strongly advise anyone considering purchasing a vehicle to carry out thorough independent checks beyond standard HPI reports and to ensure full clarity on vehicle history before committing.
