Shriaz Chan goin above and beyond

Huge Shout out to Shriaz Chan working at checkin at the BNE domestic terminal, I went from not being able to get back to Honolulu, and being completely screwed (by jet star, who didn't help) to having a connecting flight, and being able to make my international flight in Sydney. Thank you Shriaz Chan for your professionalism and can do attitude, you are an asset to Quantas!

No screen or meal provided on international flight

Wife visited Australia from New Zealand, a 5 hour international flight. Neither of the return flights had a tv screen fitted, i.e. no entertainment available. Neither of the return flight offered a meal, only drinks. Qantas website states ALL international flights have entertainment and meals. We enquired why this wasn't available on her flights - but Qantas chose not to provide a response. Buyer Beware for this budget "national carrier". Evidently took a page out of Jetstar's book. Our family won't travel with Qantas again.

Qantas/Qatar cancel full fare ticket mid trip

OWE on full fare business ticket with Qantas and Qatar. Multi-city long haul travel. Arrive SEA to check in for the second and third legs of my trip. Qatar say I am not booked on the flight. Travel agent says the airlines cancelled the reservation and have taken over the ticket so can’t help. Qatar blames Qantas, Qantas blames Qatar. 3 hours on standby and I get a seat on the first leg of the flight. Transiting to second leg in Doha, I discover the ticket, and the remaining legs, have been downgraded to economy. 2 hours of trying to resolve with Qatar staff in Doha. The best anyone can do is ‘send an email to find out what happened’. Meanwhile I am flying economy on a business ticket .

I understand things go wrong but when it does the customer service of premium airlines should make a difference. Not in this case, and not previously either. This is the second time in two years that Qantas has cancelled tickets mid trip and had no customer service to resolve.

Unfortunately 2/3 of our suitcases…

Unfortunately 2/3 of our suitcases didn’t arrive in New Zealand and were stuck in Sydney. We were finally reunited with them 5 days later. This was an extremely stressful and upsetting experience which could have been made a lot easier if anyone at Qantas had stepped up and taken control- it took constant calls from us 2/3 times a day with little or no urgency coming from the customer service teams. When we were reunited with our luggage 2 cases were damaged our claims have been processed and we are being reimbursed but this has taken a lot of time and effort and was not made easy by Qantas.

The worst aircraft of any airline

The worst aircraft of any airline, small tiny cramped seats, packed flight, might have well just saved some money and went with Jetstar, at least with Jetstar you don’t have any expectations that it will be a good flight.

Lots of people complain about Qantas.

Lots of people complain about Qantas. Seems like an Australian past-time. I recently caught a flight from MNL to BNE, and considering the cost for the nonstop flight, I thought that Qantas's service was great. Food was reasonably good, flight attendants had a great attitude and the plane departed/arrived on schedule.

A national disgrace of an airline

Worse airline I've ever dealt with and such a disgrace and embarrassment to be called our national airline. This year I've experienced two situations with them that have left me more out of pocket than actually the flights I had originally booked and one situation was completely fraudulent due to their booking system. Honestly the Australian government needs to crack down on their monopoly in the market. I will never pay money to them ever again.

We went on a flight from Perth to Sydney Australia.
This was on a new plane. It had no TV screen all info was by by your own electronic device if you had one, I do not and this makes the flight very boring.
The 180 passengers in economy had to share JUST TWO TOILETS the queues were horrendous, the pore people in the rear seats had to endure passengers standing over them all through the flight. Qantas do not care about passengers all they think about is making money

Pretty awful generally

Pretty awful generally. Some nice lounges but that doesn't make up for the abysmal website and app that are totally unreliable and have terrible user interfaces. Nor does it compensate for the way that they act like a budget airline, trying to price gouge wherever possible, obfuscating actual luggage allowances you may have based on OneWorld status etc. Customer support either unwilling or unable to help with many changes when you can do it yourself if the website decides to work.

Flight delayed twice

I woke up at 6am today to fly after my flight had already been changed a few months ago from being last night to today, and they have delayed it to noon.

This impacts my work, already I had to switch things around because they made me fly in the morning instead of night, and now I have to take another annual leave because they delay it again. Wasn’t Qantas supposed to be better than Jetstar?

Call centre an absolute disaster

Call centre an absolute disaster. WHy can't I update a reward flight online in 2025? Instead I have to get transferred from pillar to post, starting at the beginning every single time.
I can't get the result I need - and which is possible - because the staff are not adequately trained to help me through their own systems.

Qantas money deducted $800+ from my account without any transaction record or reason. The staff admitted that taking the money was an error. 2 months later there still blatantly refusing to return it because "there investigating why it disappeared".

They have refused to reimburse me, tbey have refused to do anything to help, they left me unable to pay bills because they dont want to return money they took without cause.

Even trying to call them to discuss it aperently its handled by some magical department no one seems.to be able to transfer you to or put you in touch with.

Such disgraceful busniess.

Appalling Experience with Qantas – Zero Accountability and No Customer Care

I deeply regret ever choosing to fly with Qantas. Their handling of my situation was nothing short of disgraceful. I had purchased a multi-city ticket through Webjet, and when I tried to change my second flight, Webjet seemed unable to assist with any request. Instead of helping or even notifying me, I was flagged me as a no-show and they cancelled all remaining flights on my itinerary without warning.

When I contacted Qantas, they were completely unhelpful — passing the blame back to Webjet and taking absolutely no responsibility. Despite being ready to pay any “change fees” or “fare differences,” I was offered no alternative, no solution, and no assistance in getting home. Their customer service was cold, dismissive, and uninterested in helping at all.

In the end, I was left $4,000 out of pocket, in addition to the $4,200 fare I had already paid. Qantas’ refusal to communicate, coordinate, or show any offer of a solution is unacceptable for an airline that claims to be premium.

They’ve done it again

They’ve done it again ! Qantas FF has rejected the legitimate points I earned from shopping online with one of their partners – Dyson Australia.

I purchased a vacuum cleaner directly from the Dyson website, not eBay. I decided to make this purchase solely because of the "3 points for $1 spent" offer. I did this by firstly connecting to Dyson through the Qantas shopping website where the red circle was displayed with the message that "Qantas Shopping has access to this website". I know enough by now not to use Extensions, and therefore I didn't. Although why this would be a problem I'll never know as the staff can never explain it.

After several months, my points had not been credited, so I lodged a missing points inquiry form. Eventually after submitting further financial information on the purchase (twice) and waiting nearly 3 weeks, they finally responded saying “We have looked into your query and unfortunately, can now confirm that the store has declined the points earn on this purchase. As the transaction tracking was awarded to another source, ie you shopped another offer, direct retailer edm or engaged a browser plug in for example”.

As I have previously said on numerous occasions to Qantas Shopping – their system is way too user un-friendly and complex. Scrap it and start again. This would also enable them to sack most of their employees, who take forever to answer these sort of missing points inquiries anyway, and who just continually make mistakes. Here's a chance QANTAS to save some big money. If there were no inquiries about missing points, there would be no need for the hundreds of staff you employ to investigate them would there ?

Dyson benefited from my purchase as a result of the Qantas FF program - no other reason - but not any more. I won't be doing business with them ever again. Both Qantas and Dyson are just using the FF incentive to make money and are trying to avoid allocating points wherever possible. The cost to them of the points redeemed are miniscule compared to the cost of the purchase. You'd think their reputation would be worth far more than the negative reviews that are being lodged everywhere online about them.

When I contact Dyson with a forlorn attempt to review my case and make a formal complaint, I've no doubt Dyson will blame Qantas, as Qantas has blamed Dyson. I've seen it all before - too many times! What Dyson and all other sellers on the Qantas Shopping website should do, is to complain to Qantas about their system. It's not working for their customers and will badly affect their sales. Obviously the poor old customer carries no weight when complaining to Qantas, but maybe the sellers do. The people I'm emailing at Qantas FF are probably from an Asian Call Centre which means they take no responsibility and do nothing about it.

I have requested that a complaint be escalated to more senior management but no doubt it will just get ignored again.

Useless people to help you!!!

I have tried to add an infant into my booking, but apparently no attendant knows how to do it.
These guys, honestly, they say that they are doing it, make you wait several minutes, they come back saying, “I will get someone in the team to do it, someone will call you back, please hang off the phone”(so they don’t get a bad review inside their system). They call you back, phone rings for a fraction of a second so you can’t pick it up.
IS THERE ANYBODY AT QANTAS THAT IS ACTUALLY ABLE TO ASSIST?

OMG-how I regret booking with them

OMG — why did I book my fights with this terrible airline?? - my original itinerary was a flight from Christchurch to Sydney then onto Perth and then a direct flight home to the UK-
I called the call centre (UK tel number) to ask if it would be possible to change the itinerary to Sydney to Adelaide and then Adelaide - Perth - although there was an increase in price, I was happy for them to go ahead and book the new flights and cancel the Sydney to Perth flight - I was then sent my E tickets for my new itinerary, however my flight from Perth to London was not showing. So I called back the call centre( it would appear that the Qantas call centre has been outsourced to another country) and was told that this had been cancelled- at no point did I or did they mention this flight during our conversation or was any refund processed to me so I was pretty surprised that it had been cancelled- the Agent then kept me waiting for about 20 minutes while she looked into it and then came back to me and said that they would have to listen to the recording of our telephone conversation and they would call me back .. I said to her that this was not good enough and asked her to put me through to someone that could get this resolved now, I was then kept waiting for a further 10 minutes for her to tell me that I would have to wait for a call back, I asked when that would be, she said tomorrow.
I have called the call centre this morning, only to be told that I would have to wait until the customer service team contact me, Australia time … so as it’s Friday today, I suppose that it will now be next week and given the time difference will be when I am sleeping, absolutely farcical.
It’s beyond words how poor this service is from an airline the size of Qantas, I had chosen to book with them because I foolishly assumed that they were a well established, first class brand.
If there is someone at this company who monitors complaints via Trustpilot please could they look into this nightmare that I find myself in. Christ I thought the UK was bad ….
Update
One week later still nowhere getting this sorted- I have called every day- promised I would receive a call back, none received- I have now in an act of desperation have emailed the CEO office ..won’t hold my breath … then my final attempt will be to actually pay a visit to the Qantas HQ when I get to Sydney… that should be interesting..
another update
Finally, my e-ticket has arrived via the investigation team- asked why this had happened “system error”
No explanation as to what it was, no apology or any explanation why it has taken me to write to the CEO’s office to get this moving. A total S… shower from start to finish.
Never again

Flight cancellation

Flight cancellation. Clearly all other airlines had cancelled the night before but qantas did not. An international flight, checked in baggage cleared security just about to sit down and relax, then notified of cancellation. No available flights, missed my best friend funeral, told staff, they shrugged their ahoulders and moved on. Lost faith today, cried my way home
