Standard of service minus x amount of stars

If it were possible I would not give a one star rating. I received a dress that was not fit for purpose. One of the seams was partially sewn right side facing which suggests it had to be mended. Moreover the company knowingly sent out a dress that was of a poor mercantile standard.

The company declined liability consequently, I was liable for postage totalling over £90.00, including initial postal fee out to me.

Really disappointed with my experience.

Nowhere was it made clear that this is a US-based company, which led to unexpected issues with shipping. The refund/returns information is also very unclear, and I would end up having to pay additional costs just to get the item shipped to the US.

I paid £72 for a dress, and after raising these issues with them, the best they could offer was a £25 refund. That doesn’t come close to resolving the situation.

Overall, poor transparency and not a great customer experience. I won’t be buying from them again.

Terrible!

Terrible!

I ordered a UK size 14 2 Piece Light Pink High Neck Pleated Business Suits. from queendancer.co.uk on 27th of February, 2026 for an important event, paying £108.08. The dress arrived late but to my surprise it was not as described and completely the wrong size.

I immediately contacted the seller, sent photos, and explained the issue. Instead of resolving the matter professionally, I was offered three unacceptable options:

I requested for an address to send the package back to them but the address they sent to me to send the package back to was USA not United Kingdom address. I took the package off to post office and the fee to send off the package was way higher than the purchasing price. I wrote to them to tell them about the outcome and they sent this to me: “Furthermore, regarding the refund issue, without receiving the returned package, the maximum refund amount we can apply for is 27 pounds. Please understand this”

This is unreasonable and violates UK consumer law, which states that when a seller sends a faulty or incorrect item, they must cover the cost of return and provide a full refund.

I requested a UK return address to facilitate my refund, but the seller refused and continues to insist I pay international postage for their mistake. The lack of professionalism, accountability, empathy, honesty, and integrity has been surprising to me.

I would strongly caution anyone considering buying from this site. My experience has been stressful and disappointing. The product was not as described, and the customer service was unprofessional, disrespectful dismissive and unhelpful.

Avoid!! terrible company

Terrible

Terrible! I ordered for my wedding, and the top was way too small, as 4 sizes smaller, I could not fasten. Tried to arrange return to a US address (def not UK based as web address would suggest) and even spent £30 postage, only for them to refuse to accept the return (pay $tax), and so the item was returned to me. I paid £200 for an item I can’t use, £30 to return and they are still asking me to return after refusing to accept it in the US. To me this is fraud. Return and refund made impossible. Stay well away!

Waste of time

Ordered a dress in my normal size - took weeks to arrive because even though it says .co.uk they clearly ship everything from a factory in China so shipping was expensive. Was challenging to get a shipping update for the 4+ weeks. The dress finally arrived and was way too small. Contacted them to arrange a return - they only offer you three options, keep the dress for £8 credit / arrange a return at your own shipping expense for a refund (would be £20+ spent on shipping at that point) / exchange the dress but again spend nearly the same amount as the dress on shipping.
In the end I did not bother but won’t order from them ever again.

Absolutely avoid!!

Absolutely avoid!!! I returned the cheap tacky dress I ordered via the returns label on the packaging and now they say that’s not the address to return an item. What a joke !!! Apparently you have to get this authorised and they tell you where to return the shoddy items. However you have 7 days in order to do so. An absolute farce and will likely lose my money. Do not waste your hard earned cash

Terrible company; avoid!

Can’t leave less than 1 star. Absolutely ridiculous company to deal with. Whatever you’re ordering, make sure you leave two months before it’s actually needed. Ignore shipping times, they give a completely false sense of anything. It’s their ‘small print’ order processing time that takes the proverbial. 7-12 WORKING days. So like, add 2 and a half weeks for them to process your order, despite taking your money at original point of ordering. Then they’ll eventually ship out the order, which again is WORKING days so yet another 2 and a half weeks.
The dress I ordered was literally ordered 6 weeks in advance of the event and turned up 1 working day after the event it was ordered for. It sat in Belgium for 5 days, sitting around with no tracking updates. Item was shipped in a pathetic poly bag which arrived in rough shape. Overall, terrible attitude on their customer service, dreadful terms and conditions and they will not start a return process without protestation. Avoid AVOID AVOID!!!

Hope this company gets shut down

Had an awful experience a few months back trying to return items bevause they arrived later than stated, even though the customer servcie team gried to argue this, but luckily I could prove they were wrong. The items also had that horrible fishy odour, when something been vacuum packed for a long time. As the items were expensive, I didn't feel I got my monies worth.

I had to put up a fight to get only some of my money back, but I never got the full amount. As with others, I had to oay retun fees st my own expense to a chinese address. The item never made it's way back and depsite proof of return, again I didn't get much money back. I ended up going through royal mail to recover some of the money.

I wrote a few bad reviews and also received threatening emails, trying to blackmail me to remove the bad reviews I've left previously, unfortunately for them I refused and reported them to trading standards at the time

This is a warning to boycott this company, unless you want to be robbed of your money. Terrible customer service, terrible company. Shouldn't be allowed to keep trading!

Extremely Disappointed – Wrong Size Sent and Poor Customer Service

I ordered a UK size 12 dress from queendancer.co.uk on 18 October 2025 for an important event, paying £104.38. The dress arrived on 5 November 2025, but to my shock, it was not as described and completely the wrong size.
I immediately contacted the seller, sent photos, and explained the issue. Instead of resolving the matter professionally, I was offered three unacceptable options:
1. Keep the wrong dress and get only £9 back,
2. Receive a £65 coupon to reorder, or
3. Return the item to the United States at my own expense for “inspection.”
This is unreasonable and violates UK consumer law, which states that when a seller sends a faulty or incorrect item, they must cover the cost of return and provide a full refund.
I requested a UK return address to facilitate my refund, but the seller refused and continues to insist I pay international postage for their mistake. The lack of accountability, empathy, and professionalism has been shocking.
I would strongly caution anyone considering buying from this site. My experience has been stressful, disappointing, and expensive. The product was not as described, and the customer service was dismissive and unhelpful.
I am now pursuing a refund through a formal dispute, as the seller has been completely unreasonable.

Don't order or try to return

Dress was not the color advertised and did not fit. I was told by Emily, their correspondent to take the dress in more natural lighting, and it looks better when worn. I can't wear it if it doesn't fit, and it is stark white not ivory!

They do not do refunds (despite their policy).

Customers are often only motivated to take the time to write 1 star reviews because they want to warn other customers which is what I'm here to do.

Consistent with many of the other customers, I highly recommend not purchasing from this company for two main reasons: their returns policy is 100% not honoured (you will not get your money back and you'll waste a ton of time and money trying), and their customer service is appalling. Here's what's happened to me...

I purchased a dress that took longer than their quoted delivery time to arrive. Eventually it did arrive but there was no longer enough time for me to get alterations so I requested to return it as i wouldn't be able to use it for my wedding. I made this request within their short 7 work day return period. The returns policy is well written to meet UK law but not honoured. Despite meeting all of their eligibility criteria, after multiple emails back and forth they offered me either a £8 credit and to keep the dress (dress cost me £95 so this was laughable), or to get a credit which I did not want given how much I didn't trust the company or products. I pushed for a full refund which they eventually agreed and said I needed mail it into the manufacturer in China, tracked (costing me an additional £25), and send photos of the package and tracking number. Still...the package was refused at customs for "insufficient documentation" which made no sense, and it was returned to me 5 months later. I emailed them now 3 times over 10 days, contacted their customer service directly on the site, and they've still not responded. I am without a refund and it actually cost me more money and time then if I'd pursued a refund at all due to the tracking cost. Do no purchase to begin with.

It's clear they're playing the long game expecting customers to give up on their refund requests. They are extremely untrustworthy. If you read how they respond to the 1 star reviews, it's a fairly consistent (AI generated) style of communication they've maintained throughout my interactions, all talk, no action when all they need to do is issue the refund. Because they don't, it reflects the company' greed, poor finaical health and strategy to have the cashflow and foresight to reserve funds for customer refunds which is a necessity for doing business.

To close, until this company can sort out it's business model, it lacks integrity and I would call for it to be shut down.

Avoid!!

This is a cheap Chinese factory making cheap clothes. Do not be mislead by the UK website. They use a UK domain but are based in China.
They will not accept returns after 7 days. I contacted the EU Consumer Center.

Under EU law, when you buy a product online, you have the right to withdraw from your contract within 14 days without giving any reason. This period starts from the day you receive the goods. So they should accept returns. They do not reply to emails you have to keep resending.

Avoid like the plague!! Average quality, Over-priced, and avoid refunding customers.

Purchased a dress for £65 which wasn’t too bad but not really worth that price. Unfortunately the dress was too big and had to return it. Contacted them for a return and refund which has turned out to be a tricky process. First, they offered I keep the dress and they’ll refund me £6 🤯 ! Obviously I rejected, then they offered me a refund of £18 or a coupon. As I have no desire to do business with them again I have no need for a coupon.
