I took the Cybersecurity bootcamp in the fall of 2021. The bootcamp was detailed and helpful in hardening my skills and growing my cyber security skills. The course was hands on using vm's. I learned a great deal. The course created a solid cyber security foundation for me to grow from. The program was a key factor in my achieving comptia Security+ and eventually getting a job in GRC.
Quickstart is a valuable program to start your way onto the technology areas. My experience was a very positive one. The people at Quickstart care about their students and try to help you along your way.
Like most things you get out of it what you put into it and they have the resources to help you. I always had someone I could connect with for whatever questions I had. I highly recommend their program.
I signed up for the Data Science program in hopes to advance my career.
The educational quality of this program is abysmal. The teaching videos are derived from free sources, such as YouTube videos of lectures from professors with no affiliation with this program and passed off as their own material, the mentor will not really answer questions and simply tell you to Google any information you don't know, and the dashboard is loaded with errors.
It would be more beneficial and much more cost effective to learn the material on your own.
I do not know how any University could support a company like this.
I did the web development Bootcamp and I thought it was great! Also I did this while in college and they were very flexible. I took my time and self paced the experience.
I had an awesome experience with the Data Science bootcamp and greatly enjoyed having Jeff as my mentor. Being able to discuss in class and get further teachings on the subjects we were working on helped me a lot and I would say that was the best thing about the bootcamp experience.
My biggest pain point was some issues with the UX within the bootcamp dashboard. Specifically, for some modules some of the links would not work for me, and some tests or quizzes would glitch and say I already completed them when I haven't.
Nonetheless, Harris and the support team were quick to look at the issues and guide me through them.
Harris,
It is hard to believe that it was a year ago that I first reached out to you about the Data Science Bootcamp.
You did a great job of telling me the overview of the course and how beneficial this course is in polishing and improving the necessary skills needed to be competitive in this job market. I remember being very encouraged when you shared with me that many students had graduated to move on to very successful positions in various companies. Despite all of this, I wasn’t sure if I could afford it, with a single income and a baby on the way, but after talking with you I felt like it was the right thing to do.
I don’t regret the decision that I made to take the course.
Jeff’s approach to explaining the various topics, showing examples, and sharing real world applications to address complex problems was a highlight of the bootcamp. Jeff has always been accessible and eager to assist anyone in the class that had questions or sought clarification to the myriad of topics we encountered throughout the course.
In closing, I would like to also share that even before I graduated, I was hired for a part time job role at an Insurance Agency as a SQL developer/ Data Manager/ Data Analyst type role and with responsibilities that will allow me to directly apply knowledge that I have learned throughout this course as well as gain so much more hands on experience and with perks like great wage per hour (>$60) and ability to work remote is invaluable in today's environement.
I would like to thank Jeff for going above and beyond with support and helping to create a once in a lifetime opportunity to get my feet wet while gaining invaluable industry experience and know how.
I would fully recommend this course and Jeff as a teacher to any other student interested in this type of course work.
Thank you again for the very positive experience and knowledgeable support.
I did the Data science boot camp with quick start and I m happy about the results, it worth every single dollar.
My recruiter name harris was always there for me 24/7 for any questions or issue, However; all I can say that a boot camp in data science will help you to start a career in the shortest amount of time possible, all you need is put in the work and the effort to pass in the classes and the projects.
The staff at Quickstart has been so receptive and helpful in my journey. The coach (instructor) was amazing and helped me comprehend the material so much better than I could have myself.
Annas, Aly, and Harris have been detrimental to my completion, and I felt it was truly a team effort to make sure I not only received the correct education, but also to be there once we have completed the course to help in our career aspirations.
The bootcamp was perfect for a working adult and I could not have completed on time or even at all without the staff in place. The staff for my course was amazing and support was attentive as well. Thank you for the opportunity and I look forward to moving my career forward and recommending Quickstart based on my experience. Thank you all! :)
I completed the cybersecurity bootcamp and it was definitely a learning experience. I didn't have any prior experience so I knew that it was going to be tough but the instructors and classmates that I had were very helpful. My instructor always broke everything down to make sure everyone understood and provided us with websites and articles to help give us a boost. The only down fall is that its easy to get behind in your work if you dont follow the schedule. I would definitely recommend this bootcamp because it provides you everything you need to get your cert and more, as long as your willing to put in the work.
Attending a bootcamp course @quickstart on Cloud engineering was one of the best decisions I made. There, you are able to learn a variety of things including hands on on projects which can actually be of help for you even at the Job market. They have Amazing teachers but so sad we lost one of them during our studies ( May his soul rest in peace ) and their carrier coaches are ready always to help you. Thank you Quickstart
I first came to know of Quickstart through my alma mater Hofstra University's promoted bootcamps. Even though the bootcamp did not have instructors from the university's computer science department, I still found [Web Development] to be a great introduction for those interested in making the move to tech.
In 2021, the curriculum was also updated and broken down better.
- Technology changes so very quickly. Information quickly becomes outdated. It is up to the student to use the bootcamp curriculum as a starting guide and to supplement with research. Expect to supplement knowledge.
- There shouldn't be an overfocus on the career placement at the end. The bootcamp is only one component of many to truly pivoting into the tech industry. It is up to the student to build their own brand (portfolio) and to promote that brand. You are your own career ambassador.
- It is up to the student to prepare for industry-standard whiteboard questions. You likely will have to learn discrete mathematics, algorithm theory, and data structures on your own.
I think this is a great program, classes two days out of the week and one on one tutoring has really helped me . Annas, Aly & ty go above beyond for us students. Thank you so much !!
Very informative. However, some course videos might need little update in terms of teaching or discussing the lessons. Some course videos are a bit plain or dull like just reading the slides they have. All in all it is a good experience and hoping to learn more. Kudos to our Professor/Coach Bill who is very knowledgeable and very approachable.
My instructor was Burhan. He was very thorough with each lesson. He also gave personal attention to each student. I texted and emailed many times during the boot camp and he would always help me right away. The material was easy to navigate and easy to understand.
Most important, the quality of the instructors is excellent, and the relevancy of the material is on point. My complaint is a bit contradictory because the quantity of work is great, but I think it is necessary. I simply think the quantity of work should be emphasized more before endeavoring in the program--especially if students work full-time, have family, etc. I also think the program should advise, recommend, or offer some materials or prework with Linux and Python before students start the program or students should have another week to these sections.
I started with little info about cybersecurity.
Halfway thru the program, I can say that it is worth the investment.
Originally how this program was marketed was that it was going to be an all encompassing program where you could obtain certifications along with completing the program. After speaking with our coach it was informed that we would not be receiving any certifications at the end of this program and we would need to complete those on our own. Coach Bill and Anas are fantastic as they are helpful and they answer everyone’s questions thoroughly but the marketing and promotion of this program is misleading. Many students have complained about not having there concerns listened too as well as asking for refunds and not receiving anything except being moved from cohort to cohort . I paid around $6200 for this Bootcamp out of pocket as I was told this program would get me certified and ready for a job, I have not used the job support feature as of yet so I can not comment on that aspect as of this time but the marketing of this Bootcamp program should be more honest and upfront about the outcomes of the Bootcamp. Most of the learning is done through videos as opposed to a coach or mentor teaching the material so that could also be improved. Coach Bill and Annas have been very helpful and the labs are engaging but the majority of this program should be revised.
This boot camp is great with a lot of material, There's a lot you can learn doing the tasks given to you. But also some of the given videos are outdated so its hard to stay on track on some parts but overall its good.
Overall the classes are fine and coach is fine. I think there should be more emphasis on the lab. Maybe making them a requirement and reviewing them during the classes. I think there are too many videos the watch and there so much info i not sure if there during anybody any good
This is one of the wonderful programs that I have attended so far. The journey so far on the program is going well . Learning through the videos is very convenient and relaxing and have a wonderful coach Bill to answer your questions. The course covers some basics so it helps to starters. The design of the program includes hands on coding, lab work and quizzes. It is really a wonderful way to learn Cybersecurity area.
