Wood order - Awful EXPERIENCE

I ordered wood back in April 2025 and it was due to be delivered in Aug 2025. They kept pushing the delivery date out so I finally cancelled my order on the 9th December. I then received this email on the 29th December. Thank you for reaching out to us.
Apologies for late response. I have now cancelled your order as requested. Our accounts team is currently processing your refund, and they are working to complete this as quickly as possible.
Please note that once the refund has been issued, it may take up to 14 working days to appear in your account, depending on your banking provider.
If you have any further questions or need any assistance in the meantime, please feel free to contact us.
To date I am still awaiting my refund. I called in March and they took my account details. Still no refund. I rung in April and I have been assured that they will credit my account back. They have had my money for over a year now.

5 months later

5 months later - my dad finally got his refund. Don’t rest until you get it. Countless calls and emails. A disgrace of a company. We ordered fire wood in the wait and save offer in June 2025. Sept came, they pushed out the delivery several times. We cancelled in November as we had to order logs else where. No refund was processed until today! We will stick to what we know-a local supplier who actually has the goods to deliver. Save yourself time, money and Stress!!!!! Avoid at all costs!

What a very good customer service when…

What a very good customer service when it works.
A bit let down when the recorded voice message says we open from 6am to 6pm but there is no one answering the phone. But once you get to ring at office hours they are brilliant. Maybe they can have a size of small double mattress next time.

Purchased logs in January 2026 and just…

Purchased logs in January 2026 and just got refunded today thanks to AIB processing a chargeable item. Repeatedly tried to get a refund via calls and emails due to non delivery. Would never do business with this company again and strongly advise people against purchasing anything from them. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Strange that reviews are either 1 or 5 (not sure I would trust the source of 5 stars)

Recent Rathwood firewood order - Diana

Its been a rocky year for Rathwood. I had a furniture order cancelled after being delayed by 7 months in 2025 and my winter hardwood order arrived 3 months late which wasn't ideal given the cold weather arrived on time as expected.

I noted that in recent months Rathwood had removed the ability to order hardwood on their website which i presumed was due to them acknowledging their supply issue and not wanting to further add to the growing number of customer complaints due to delayed order shipments. It was to my surprise that I saw hardwood back up for order last week. The product quality has always been top notch and much better than some of the local suppliers in my area. The price is competitive also so I decided to enquire again about the wait and save option.

Diana in customer services couldn't have been nicer to deal with and helped me place an order for a number of items. I'm hopeful that Rathwood have now got on top of their order book and given the interaction I've had recently it is evident to me that they are heavily focused on addressing the shortcomings of 2025 and want to win back past customers.

For now my recent order experience has been very positive but if the delays of the past occur again in Winter 2026 then I'll be back leaving a follow up review.

Horrific service

Horrific service
I ordered a bed on 8th Jan, was charged 45 euro for 72hr dispatch, as of mid April it has still not been dispatched. Like other reviews I contact them frequently get fobbed off and zero follow up from them until I contact them to recieve another generic response. I will await a response to my latest email before raising to CCPC because this company needs looked into based on how they're treating customers.
Like other reviews I have no doubts they will respond below with platitudes but no actual substance. I will update here

the worst company I've ever dealt with

the worst company I've ever dealt with. I order a lot online but I've never had anything like this before. First of all, they don't even have 70% of the goods presented but they take orders anyway and charge customers, then they try to "compensate" them with other "in stock" items that then never get delivered either. 3 months!!!!!! I've been waiting for delivery and I've been waiting for a refund for a month now!!! Shame! You're a worthless company! Credibility- zero! I want my money back from order RW11333 or you will pay much much more for moral compensation

I have an outstanding order for timber…

I have an outstanding order for timber logs from last September 2025. Multiple changes to delivery times and empty promises about when stock would arrive. As of two days ago I emailed and was told it was arriving to warehouse and I would have it 20th April. Just checked again and the delivery date now moved to June! Disgraceful way to treat customers. I never write reviews but this is a completely unacceptable way to treat people having taken their money.
Update for context:
Ordered 2.66m3 of kild dried oak 24/9/25
Delivery date of 10/11/25
Multiple changes of delivery dates as outlined above with latestest expected delivery in June.
Linked with Customer service via email to see if we could rectify.
Offer to take Birch logs instead but only 2.1m3.
I offered to swap if the same quantity was sent out. Was told this couldn't be done. Genuinely fearful to go down the refund route given the experiences of so many people.
Update 23rd April I accepted swap for Birch and they arrived today. I used the goodwill voucher towards kindling. I consider the case closed even if I was not entirely happy with the outcome but can't deal with the back and forth anymore. Shame, as originally had a great, reliable business in the go. I hope they can get back to that again.

Do not order anything from them

Do not order anything from them. We ordered a bunk bed that was supposed to be delivered in 6-8 weeks. After 8 weeks we asked for an update and we're told it was out of stock. When we argued that it shows as in stock on their website, they wanted us to pay the difference of nearly 200 euro for the same item that now was not discounted. After a few phone calls they reordered the bunk bed for the same price with priority delivery of 3 weeks. As expected 2 months later there is no delivery and no updates from them.

Rathwood home and garden centre Carlow

I ordered firewood at the start of January 2026. I hadn't heard anything for 2 weeks. I contacted them on the 27th of January to cancel my order as I hadn't received any product.
It's the 15th of April now and nothing. I've contacted them multiple times since by phone call and email.
4 months later I'm still waiting for my money back

I ordered a child's scooter on St. Stephen's Day 2025. I made numerous attempts to contact them, but received no response. Eventually getting through on the phone only to be told over and over again that it's in stock IN GERMANY and awaiting shipment, and I will be contacted with a delivery date as soon as it ships. No order and no refund.

Ordered a bed 4th January 26.
Told delivery would be 4/5 weeks.
After numerous emails week after week no joy.
Told the bed was coming from their Germany wearhouse. Weeks later still nothing.
Then be told 3 months in there's no bed available, after I rang and emailed again to enquire where my order was.
So they canceled my order and weeks later I'm still here with no refund.
So now I'm on to my bank to see if they can get me my €323.00 that RATHWOOD HAVE BELONG TO ME.
I will never purchase another thing from this horrendous company.
No proper customer care or dealing with complaints.
RATHWOOD SHAME ON YOU IN THIS DAY AND AGE.
WHERE'S MY REFUND 😡

Ordered a bed in February I was told…

Ordered a bed in February I was told it’d take 10-14 working days, emailed the end of March and they told me it’s not in stock and they have to order it in from the uk so it extends to 21 working days. I waited a further two weeks at which point I requested a refund. They told me the refund would be processed by their team, and I have received no refund and they are yet to reply to any of my further emails and keep dropping my calls. Joke!!!

This is my second review to highlight that my first review received a response from Rathwood saying they would look into the issue right away. However, it has now been over a month with no update, no refund, and no reply to my multiple emails.

Very disappointing experience—no bed, no refund, and no response. I would strongly advise others to think twice before shopping here.

Rathwood Liveline attention and phone service

So heard the liveline discussion on rathwood, so glad this getting flagged and highlighted. Find it so bewildering how rathwood can reply to my review and not my private emails to them. If my phone bill is extortionate for calls which I believed were to an Irish company but actually to manilla, that will be a whole other issue and complaint
