I NEED MY MONEY BACK

RBS took my money from the 12th of May 2024 as I sent an International Transaction to teh US. This should have taken 2-4 days. The long and short was the person in the US have not erceived the transaction up to 7 days after I sent it. I called and tried to help from teh APP - the whole team was useless. After reviewing the receipt they sent me, I realised that the beneficiary's account number was written incorrectly on the reciept, but the routing details and everything else was accurate. I have sent a similar transaction before so I doublt this was my error. Anyhow, I followed their advice and changed the details (I did not received any updated receipt or written correspondence of this, as RBS informed they cannot do this, I justhave to take their word for it). Another week has passed and the person in the US still have not received the money - I was told because I asked them to change the bank details to the correct one, there is an open investigation that has been logged and I need to wait 5 working days before I can ask back for the money. On top of this, I need to pay £25 for this to be done and they cannot guarantee teh time I will get the money back or the amount Called again today and spoke to Nathan in customer services who was totally useless, tried to separate himself from his organisation telling me that he wasn't the one I spoke to before; and I am still waiting for RBS to recall this transaction and give me my money back - Take your business and money elsewhere...no local branches and useless people on the

I’ve had a business account frozen…

I’ve had a business account frozen twice in the last 6-7 weeks. On the first occasion it was business profile issues (though they never asked for any details). It took over two weeks to reestablish access.
They did it again this week - they can’t tell me why this time. I was assured (again) that the issue had been “escalated” but would still take “2-3days” to get access again. It has not happened.
I’ve been told that the team “can’t cope with the number of cases”. On the first occasion I was told that no one more senior was available to help because the individual had knocked off early for the weekend.
My complaint was met with a response as that said they would respond after 15 working days - they did, to say that they needed another 20 working days.
Is RBS broken?
Addendum - nine days later I am no further forward. RBS admit that they have “dropped a clanger” but appear unable to rectify their error. Today I was promised action “ within hours”. As they near closing time their is no change.

Not trading under the same name anymore.

Now then what can I say about this? Well I’ve been told by my mother that the rbs no longer exists. Instead it’s now the NatWest bank, who’ve taken over it, this came as a bit of a surprise. Cos I’ve been trying to get some money back from Wellnee (see previous review). But was told that they needed some details about my account which I’m not happy about… namely some thing to do with my direct debits, which like I said I’m not really sure what it’s got to do with the money I’m trying to get back from them (Wellnee)…
Ok thanks for letting me vent on off about this. Don’t know if it’ll help anyone else… but just be aware that rbs aren’t trading under that name anymore…

Bad customer service

Bad experience with this bank. My old phone stopped working so my account got disabled when I tried to log in using a new phone. I had to contact them and go through a roundabout process to verify my ID. Even after that, they still asked me to go to a branch, which I haven't had to do for ANY bank since 2017 lol. They said my account would be unblocked within a few hours, but after going back home, it was still disabled. I haven't been able to access the bank to view my payments, savings, or anything for a long time.

The staff are friendly, which is nice, but sadly, their systems are incompetent.

Experience of My Business Profile

Having operated my business account with RBS for 15 years, I now have my account frozen resulting in me not being able to pay wages, bills and HMRC direct debits. This is due to needing to complete a Business Overview Review form on a portal which does not work.
In effect I have been put out of business by RBS because their computer system cannot accommodate the information that they themselves require. Having had over 8 hours of telephone conversations to a different person each time my business is still shut down and nobody can help. I have no alternative but to escalate this case to Martin Lewis - money expert and to the wider media. This is clearly another Mr Bates versus the Post Office however in this case RBS business banking.

lacking honesty and integrity

please do not buy house insurance from RBS, they lack honesty and integrity. After my house was flooded, among many other things they took away two very expensive bags. As a part of Authenticating them a company was to pick them up at the end of May last year, however when they went to storage place they were found to be lost/ disposed of. RBS apparently conducted their own investigation to find out who had given permission to dispose of them but i heard no more. After that they said they needed paperwork for the bags before they would pay, i didn’t have that as they were bought years ago, hence the reason for the authenticity to be verified by a company. They then offered me £139 for the bags which i refused. All my other items had been settled so were on a list including the bags and i was asked if they could dispose of them, which i said yes in July, but by this time the bags were already lost by the bank.
I then took the case to the ombudsman, its a this point that RBS really play dirty. They lied and said they didn’t lose the bags, they have continued this lie throughout and i gave permission to dispose of bags. The bags were lost in may, i disposed of other items in july.
This is a disgusting company with no morals.

Cashed out my ISA of over £20 grand

Cashed out my ISA of over £20 grand. Heard nothing for over a week. Called up to ask where my money was, only to be told it was frozen (even though they removed it from my account) as I hadn’t been using it. So I’ve now got to reactivate it and request it again!!! They are an absolute shambles.

Froze my business accounts

Froze my business accounts when I have a business to run, it’s utterly farcical! Bunch of jobsworths wasting my time forcing me to fill out their pointless business profile review. It’s basically do as you are told or else…being a customer for 16 years counts for nothing.

Pretty poor service from RBS

Pretty poor service from RBS. I asked for a balance so I could settle which the promptly gave. Settled, only to discover later that the amount given was incorrect by around £3.50. I have now also discovered there a 2 missed payments on my credit file of this!!! Bare in mind my credit limit was over £10,000 and never missed a payment whilst using it they felt the need to try and destroy my credit for their oversight!!!! I'm disgusted that no one person used common sense and tried to contact me regarding this, I had to find out from a credit agency!! Extremely poor end of service behavior. Avoid

UK Passport Not a Valid Form of ID?

Attempted to open an account and was unable to verify my ID. They didn't accept my UK passport to open a UK bank account .... what? Tried several times to re-submit a photo. Then it's impossible to figure out how to talk to a person and the CHATBOT was no help. Will be using banking services elsewhere.

Unable to open joint account

Adding my experience to all the other 1 star reviews. Save yourself some time and go elsewhere. We tried to open a joint current account but it is not possible. One person has to open the account then request to add the other party. Husband opened account and requested my name be added. We completed the rather long winded ID checks and application forms 2 weeks ago. The acknowledgement said we would be contacted within 2 working days. Agents on the chat bot just abandon you. My name is still not added and we have now given up after speaking to an agent who promised to ring back today but did not. No one knows what is going on at that bank. I am out of patience with an organisation that can’t even do the basics.

Absolutely flabbergasting experience!

I opened a payment dispute against a £69.44 transaction. I think a child was dealing with the dispute due to the amateur like correspondence. The handler just did not seem to know what they were doing?? I was requested evidences over and over again that the initial dispute application had already explained. The dispute was then instantly closed in favour of the seller!?? I received a damaged item that I could not resolve with the seller and the bank advised that they do not contact the retailer and closed this in their favour. I then opened a complaint and consequently received an email from the disputes team notifying me that they were pleased to advise that I have now received a full refund from the retailer and the case is now closed. Woohoo! Or so I thought. After a few days I contacted RBS to ask when the refund would show on my account. I was then advised that this is in my account already and was pointed in the direction of an ebay returns refund of £66.49!?? A totally different transaction completely!! After 1 and half hours on the phone I was losing the will to live! You could actually hear the cogs turning as they were trying to work out what was wrong. They have now advised that they will have to reopen the case and overturned my refund notification. They will be in touch and the current waiting time is 8 days. The professionalism of this bank is zero! I'm looking at geting away from the bank as soon as possible.
