No communication and ultimately no Product - unfortunately 1 star is the lowest rating allowed !

If you are thinking of making a significant purchase from RC ToyWorld, please read this first

I ordered and paid for Electric Bike from RC ToyWorld. After 1 week without ANY update, I email them with request for update via their website. I then called them and got to leave a message on answering machine. I received a callback and was advised that due to Corona Virus there had been a mistake in the warehouse and my bike was no longer in stock but deliveries were expected within the week although with slight colour changes. Would i be happy with the colour change and wait for new stock to arrive. I said yes, ok then

8 days later having had zilch communication I phoned for an update and left a message on their answering machine. No call back

Next day I mailed them via their Web site and got the following response

Unfortunately due to the Virus our phone lines have had to close (really !!!)

With regards to your order the replacement bikes are an upgraded model and are £200 more than the original order cost Would i be interested in upgrading ?

What !!! I paid my money in good faith for a bike. I have had to initiate communication all the way and now after having had my money for weeks with no bike they want me to pay £200 more for an "upgraded" model that may also never materialise

I have requested a refund ........... lets see how that progresses

Quick response to enquiries

Delivery slower than I would prefer, but communication was quick and helpful once I raised an enquiry. Better to notify customers sooner to say delivery was taking longer than normal, rather than wait for the question to be asked.

much improved

Great start advising I didn’t need the additional parts, unfortunately slightly spoilt by poor communication regarding delivery times. 3 day delivery is optimistic even given Covid and bank holidays.

I have had further contact regarding a missing component, the supplier went above and beyond my expectations and communicated well, I have therefore given another star.

Great company to use

Great company, easy to order and kept me informed of the progress throughout. Cannot ask for a better service, especially in the current COVID-19 climate.

Could not rate this company high enough, and will be happily using them as a trusted supplier from now on for all my RC requirements

Generous 3 stars. Based on coronavirus effecting things

I made an order that after a week I got told they could not fulfill (coronavirus caused warehouse problems so understandable)
I got a full refund within 3 days.
If the coronavirus wasn't effecting things I would not have been happy with the service so I cannot give a totally accurate review. That been said I wont be buying from them again. Generous 3 stars based on circumstances

I would have liked to give a higher…

I would have liked to give a higher rating. Because the car when it arrived is great. The man I spoke to at length was knowledgeable and helpful. And I’ve had good after service car via email when I needed info about looking after the batteries.

But, the delivery time was very long with no communication to manage expectations so my son was very disappointed and I had unnecessary stress trying to sort it out. The biggest issue is not being able to call and actually speak to someone. You have to email backwards and forwards. I did speak in person at one point but the system is set up to discourage this. It’s a shame as the people responding to enquires are good. But service is slow and communication isn’t great across the board. I should end on a positive note though by saying that I was compensated for the hassle at the end of it and I didn’t have to ask for that.

Awful communication

I get things get delayed, i do. Its the lack of communication that is frustrating. Especially seeing as they have responded here in public but not to private email correspondence. I will more than likely be seeking a refund from my CC company and they can deal with them.

Great communication from start to…

Great communication from start to finish and speedy delivery. The paint job I ordered was not available and within moments of ordering rc toys contacted me with a video showing the paint job available and asking if it was acceptable. I feel this is really good customer service. Will be ordering from them again

Avoid this company.

After 11 days of waiting and watching my 3/5 day delivery electric bike go from pending to processing which was supposedly in stock,no answer to my calls and messages,no answer to my emails,I told them via email I was reporting them to my credit card company,then amazingly I received six emails in two hours explaining the bicycle was damaged and they could not supply,as no other seller seems to have this bicycle I believe it was never in stock,a refund was offered which I hastily accepted.
I would avoid this company at all costs,excuse was phones were playing up,they seemed to have been playing up for months looking at other people's reviews,emails ? Who knows they never answered any until I said I was reporting them,total waste of time.

I know it’s a long read but I need to warn people!

Avoid at all costs! I am contacting Trading Standards and I am urging anyone who has received unacceptable treatment from this company to do the same! At 8.13am on April 24th 2019, I received an email from rctoyworld.co.uk, thanking me for my purchase of an RC car that I bought for my son’s birthday. I paid for speedy delivery, (maximum 48 hours), to guarantee that it would arrive in time for my son’s birthday on the 27th April.

It did not turn up.

On the 26th April I emailed them to say the car hadn’t arrived. They replied, telling me that they had issues with their courier that week, which had delayed deliveries by a few days. I said that if they could give me an expected delivery date, and if they refunded me the extra money I paid for the 48 hour delivery service, (as it wasn’t delivered within 48 hours), I would be willing to wait for a few days.

No reply.

Next day I emailed them again, asking them to reply to my email from the previous day, (with regards to telling me when I would receive my order and whether they would be refunding the speedy delivery service I’d paid for). They replied by email and told me that my payment hasn’t reached them, even though it went out of my bank on the 23rd April and cleared their end on the 25th April, (this was now the 27th April). They said they would look into it on the following Monday, (29th April).

On the 29th April I received an email saying that they were processing my order, so I was feeling hopeful that I would receive my son’s birthday present within a few days. My son had been asking me every day why I hadn’t got him a birthday present and all I could say was, “it’s not been delivered and I don’t know when it will get here.” Now I could finally tell him that it was going to be sent out soon, so I was happy and he was really excited.

The next day I was pleased to receive an email that said my order was ready for despatch.

On the 7th May, I received an email saying that my order had been despatched that day. I expected to receive it soon and my son was really excited about it bless him. They also told me that they would refund the 48 hour postage and packaging, (which they did).

A few days later, and the order still hadn’t arrived, so I went onto my account on their website and told them I hadn’t received it. When my complaint had been sent, a message came up on my screen, telling me to wait for a reply email from them.

I waited a few days but I didn’t hear anything from them, so I emailed them on the 16th May, asking them where my order was.

No reply.

I emailed them again on the 18th May, explaining that my order still hadn’t arrived and I wanted to know what the tracking number was, (so I could see when it had been sent and when it should be delivered). I received an email the same day, saying that I should have received the order by now. They said that their warehouse was closed, but it would reopen on Monday, and they would investigate it then. They also said that they would send me a replacement “if necessary.” I had paid a lot of money for something I hadn’t received, so I think you’ll agree with me when I say, “It was definitely necessary by this point!” Anyway, I emailed them back and I thanked them for investigating it and I told them that I looked forward to hearing from them soon.

No reply.

On the 23rd May, I emailed them to ask if they had any news about my order.

No reply.

On the 24th May I emailed them again and told them that my order still hadn’t arrived and I’d still not heard back from them with regards to the investigation. As they hadn’t give me a tracking number when I’d previously asked them for it, I asked them for the tracking number again, so I could contact the delivery company to investigate the problem myself. I also told them that I had been waiting for a month now and it was completely unacceptable. I said that if I didn’t need hear back from them, I would be contacting Trading Standards.

No reply.

I tried emailing them via their website.

No reply.

I emailed them again on the 29th May to tell them that because I still hadn’t heard back from them, I was drafting my letter to Trading Standards.

No reply.

Today I finished writing my letter to Trading Standards and I will be posting it later this evening or first thing tomorrow morning. I have PTSD following the death of my son, and some days I have dips where I have to mentally prepare myself for leaving the house. Sometimes I don’t go out at all, and this is one of those days, (otherwise it would have been posted already). Having to deal with this company on top of everything else has been awful. I hate having to write complaints, but I have given this company plenty of chances to resolve the issue and they are ignoring me. I’ve also told them twice that I’m taking it to Trading Standards, but they’re still ignoring me. So now I have no choice but to send my letter in.

I’m sure that after reading all of this, you will see that they offer shockingly poor service. They have taken my money and they’ve given me nothing in return, (except a very upset child who has had his birthday ruined)! His brother died last year and they did everything together. After the funeral he developed a new hobby for RC cars. It’s really helped him to keep focused on something positive, and it’s given him something to play with, without his brother. This hobby is very important to me son, (he has complex neurodevelopmental disorder), so it’s been really difficult to try to explain why I seemingly haven’t given him a birthday present this year! He doesn’t understand the hassle I’ve been through to try to get his car to him, he just feels hurt and forgotten, it’s very upsetting!

As far as I am concerned this is theft, because I’ve paid for something and received nothing, I’m sure Trading Standards will agree with me too! My advice is, “Avoid like the plague!”

STILL WAITING FOR MY REFUND!!!!
