A WASTE OF SPACE, USELESS.

Totally ignored vital information. Complained I submitted too much information. Admitted they were not prepared to investigate some points. Rejected complaint. Filed review, same again, rejected complaint due to lack of independent evidence. Basically expected us to wear evidence grade body cams or take witness into consulting room. In fact would not have got through door to vets so equipped. Still ignored vital evidence. Not even prepared to accept vets and staff make mistakes. Complaints procedure is totally unfit for purpose. They do not care animals are being mistreated and mis- diagnosed as long as they can polish the halos of vets. Needs a total overhaul and be 100% independent of vets. In short A TOTALL WASTE OF SPACE.

The RCVS is utterly incompetent and…

The RCVS is utterly incompetent and completely unfit to regulate veterinarians. They offer no genuine expert opinion and blatantly ignore obvious veterinary malpractice. Their so-called standards for serious misconduct are a sham—everything they claim on their website is contradicted by their actions, which are either negligent or deliberately misleading. The entire organisation is a dishonest facade, serving only to pretend they investigate complaints while, in reality, they only favour the vet. Animals receive no real protection. Pet owners must be extremely vigilant because many vets act with impunity, confident the RCVS will side with them. I am appalled by how cases are handled. This body is beyond repair and should be dismantled. An independent, truly impartial authority is urgently needed to oversee and regulate vets. Excuses and cover-ups are the norm, and animal welfare is routinely sacrificed.

Unfit Regulator!

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) is a disgraceful excuse for a regulator, utterly unfit for the role it claims to uphold. Time and time again, it has shown that it prioritises protecting veterinary professionals over safeguarding animals or delivering justice to devastated owners. This is not an accusation it’s a provable fact. Every year, hundreds of serious concerns are raised, including confirmed cases where vets have overdosed animals or displayed blatant clinical incompetence. And yet, the RCVS rarely takes these cases to a final disciplinary hearing barely 20 to 30 reach that stage annually out of 500 to 600 complaints, an abysmal fraction that shows just how uninterested they are in enforcing accountability. Worse still, even when they confirm wrongdoing like they did at GREEN LANE VETS SALTNEY , they frequently avoid formal sanctions, opting instead to issue pathetic written “advice” under their so-called Charter Case Protocol a policy specifically designed to let vets dodge public scrutiny and real consequences. These warnings aren’t even public, expire after two years, and don’t count as official misconduct. The entire process is cloaked in secrecy; owners are locked out of the investigation, denied access to evidence, and given no chance to appeal. It’s a regulator that acts like a private members’ club protecting its own, shielding negligence, and burying the harm done to animals. It makes a mockery of the term ‘public interest’ and betrays every pet owner who dares to trust in accountability. The RCVS is not a body committed to justice or welfare it is a deeply broken institution, and until it is overhauled or replaced, animals across the UK will continue to suffer under the illusion that someone is watching!

I found when I asked about pricess

I found when I asked about pricess, such as cleaning my dogs teeth the staff in reception would say it's hard to say until they are on the table. Then the vet would say between 350.00 and 600.00. They don't like claiming money back from the insurance company. My dog needed monthly injections at at £153.00 a month and the reception staff called it a small amount of money, in their eyes it maybe. As soon as you ask about pricess or the vets claiming through the insurance company they become difficult and accused you of being rude for asking simple straightforward questions. This particular practice thinks they are doing you a favour when it's us that allow them to treat our dogs/animals.

Please never take your pets to this…

Please never take your pets to this awful money making scammers. Thry don't care about saving the animals. They only care about getting as much money out of you as they can. I wished I'd have read the reviews beforehand. I waited 2 hours here and was quote over £1500 to keep my guinea pig. After 2 hours I told them I wanted to take my piggie back. Thry made us wait another 40 minutes. And then told ne our piggie had passed. When I felt him he was barely warm. Proving he'd died a lot longer beforehand. And if they had got my piggie when I asked my children could have spent he's last moments. But they was too busy giving us a huge bill for the 2 hours we was there. Which in fact had they have given us our piggie would have been half. All thr vet seemed bothered about was talking about costs. Please I urge you do not take your sick pets here. It's a money making scheme with no care for the pets or the distress they are causing the owners. This place should be shut down.

Organised criminal cartel

Organised criminal cartel, charging hardworking people well above-inflationary rises to pay for their ivory tower white elephant in London, sitting in lavishly heated offices, spouting out diversity crap and other meaningless email tripe. Sat on their hands while corporates destroyed years of goodwill built up by independent practitioners allowing the general public to be ripped off with over-inflated prices to line upper corporate management pockets. Despised by the general public as an ineffective placebo. Only about 12% of the veterinary profession vote in their sham elections. Oh and get out of Ireland, you're not welcome there. Organisation needs a real good clear out, trim off the excess fat just like the bloated British state.

RCVS are unaccountable disgrace.

RCVS are unaccountable, incompetent and have no interest in veterinary care. They are there simply to white wash and protect an industry intent on taking its customers to the cleaners while putting pets welfare at risk.

The CMA should as part of it's investigation into vetnerery cost look closely at the RCVS who actively support vet's unauthorised cost, unprofessional service and what I would describe criminal activity.

The RCVS and it's council members need to be exposed for what they are.

Anyone in the organisation or vets who would like too discuss further. Feel free.

Awful experience with my RCVS complaint…

Awful experience with my RCVS complaint - many repeating themes from many complainants about how they do not enforce the Code of conduct at all - they do not fully and properly investigate and blindly defend vets to the hilt - the public and our pets are not being protected by this regulator and as such are causing our animals to suffer unnecessary pain and suffering and in some cases death at the hands of incompetent and negligent vets - VCMS (funded by the RCVS) is a waste of space and vets reject the service without even having to give a reason as it’s voluntary - 99.3% of complaints are rejected by the RCVS - and 24% of vets reject voluntary mediation - what a disgraceful governing body - believe me I’ve been through the whole process and the only answer is to remove the complaints process from the RCVS completely and for a totally independent body or Ombudsman to investigate complaints - the RCVS concerns and complaints procedure has been failing the public and pets for years - the code of conduct is a piece of nonsense put out by the RCVS to fool the public into thinking they are protected - you are not and I know from bitter experience how awful the RCVS are - their complaints procedure is not fit for purpose and is failing the public and our pets - you’ll only find out how bad it is when you have the sad need to make a complaint - vets marking their own homework is a terrible situation for the public and it desperately needs to change.

Review of vets service

I recently asked them to review the care my cat Maisie received at the Animal House in Warwick as they failed to diagnose she had a tumour on her tongue and told me the blood tests etc were fine, they weren’t. The PDSA diagnosed immediately but sadly it was too late. The report from RCVS took over 6 months and my worries etc were taken completely out of context or taken from the vets point of view. They even referred to her as a dog during the report. Complete waste of time and very worrying when I know the Animal House had some very unhappy clients. Don’t bother complaining to them.

I do not recommend the RCVS

Disappointing as the RCVS just protects vets from not being honest. I have a long story of my experience with a vet and the RCVS did nothing. They just protect their own. its all about money making business and there is nothing anyone can do.

Whilst I’m sure they do the most…

Whilst I’m sure they do the most amazing work, it didn’t go well for us.
Our 8 year old chi had a huge cancer growth on his Liver.
The college operated but could not remove the growth.
6 months later, our pet declined and we ended up at Aura in Guildford who removed the growth successfully!
We are now asking for compensation.

Don’t bother to complain about a Vet.

We have a “Vet” on our small East Essex island who is criminally negligent in their care of animals. They are a fraudulent money-making operation with a single Vet who is also the owner. Personally, I’m extremely suspicious of this person’s qualifications. The horror stories that are told on an almost weekly basis on social media should in themselves be a huge concern for the RCVS. To say this “Vet” brings the RCVS into disrepute is an understatement. You only need to ask other local veterinary practices about the urgent - and in my case life-saving referrals they’ve had as a result of this person’s professional and personal negligence to understand. This owner has the worst reputation of any professional - of any profession - that I think I’ve ever come across. So many people have complained to the RCVS without any help at all. This is a scandal that the RCVS will not address. The reason for this is baffling. What is the point of the RCVS? You can get an idea of this practice’s reputation just by looking at the Trustpilot reviews….

I was hopeful

I was hopeful, given the amount of evidence that I sent in, that the RCVS would do something about a vet who is routinely cruel to animals. I was disappointed that I went through a long and stressful process for them to dismiss the complaint at stage one. It’s not fit for purpose and will do anything to defend its members. The public need a robust and independent ombudsman.

A corrupt organisation…

I made a complaint about a vet who committed more than gross misconduct.

Humiliating me in front of staff and clients shouting at me for what the practice's treatment and medication had done to my cat.

Steroids are well known for causing muscle loss. I asked the vet to save him an he yelled 'how" He was dreadful even the nurse was mortified and I believe she has left because of his behaviour that day.

In my opinion the RCVS should be investigated for corruption, they did not even speak with the vet concerned and they even referred to the vet as a her when it is a male. They were absolutely useless they twisted what I had said to suit themselves.
