Many people found the user experience to be extremely negative, citing issues with the app and website being outdated, buggy, and slow. Customers frequently mentioned that the product itself, particularly the reading materials, was boring and unengaging, leading to a decrease in their enjoyment of reading. The quality of the content was also a major concern, with many feeling that the questions were often irrelevant or misleading, and the system for tracking progress was flawed. Absolutely terrible. Forces you to read at a slug's pace, while trying to get you to answer stupid questions about some random book you didn't want to read anyways. I have to install ReadingPlusClues... See more

Reading Plus is a total waste of time

Reading Plus is a total waste of time. At my school, it’s the main homework platform, and we’re forced to hit a weekly quota: 4 Seereaders, 2 vocab, and 2 Flash and Scan exercises or you have to attend "Catch up" session during lunchtime. Sure, you could finish it all in one day, but the books are so boring that I end up falling asleep just trying to get through them. For example, I had to read a 7,000 word book about the invention of the light bulb.

The Flash and Scan tasks are by far the most frustrating. They don’t seem to help at all, and they’re just a pointless waste of time. Honestly, that feature should be removed entirely because it doesn't help with anything.

I hate this app because

I hate this app because, in my school, it requires reading thousands of words to earn four units, and then I have to complete two vocabulary words, which isn't even the worst part. I need 80 minutes or 1 hour and 20 minutes; otherwise, I have to do more work.

Help

Sparx maths and science alone is bad enough. This app has ruined my childhood. I never saw my brother again after he went into his room to go do his 5 books. I’d rather get a detention for not doing it instead. Pls take this app down

Stressful

The whole app gives just stress if you are near the next level making it really bad and annoying and it makes a lot of students get really mad. I wouldn't recommend this app because it limits your abilities and the stories aren't good at all.

It's so bad I Google search the answers

I've had to use this app for about 3 years in school, and it's awful. The stories aren't engaging, the questions only give you one try before getting an instant yellow, and if you fail a lesson, it doesn't count. Most stories don't have a glossary either, so I'm left wondering what I'm reading because I don't understand what the story is saying. Most of the time I just look up the answers because I forget what I read within 5 seconds. Also, the G-Rate mode is infuriating for making me wait out the slow ahh text box to catch up. Anyway, if you're a school, please don't waste your money on reading plus.

Horrible website

My primary school made me use this and it's bad in so many ways. If you miss click one thing you get an orange on a question and when reading the pacing of it is ridiculous, there was a screen scan were in went over words and it was extremely slow so the app simply makes good readers into bad ones. This app just sucks all of the fun out of reading. And also, the stories are simply not fun to read at all, when I read them I wasn't engaged at all and forgot most of the stuff before I could answer the questions.

BAN THIS WEBSITE!

If I could I would give this NEGATIVE stars. Reading Plus is a Bug Filled heckscape. They say it's primary goal is to "increase your reading speed" when in reality it's "decrease your reading speed". How are you supposed to learn to read faster if it doesn't let you go fast?!? If you are school administrator don't get this it makes good readers into bad readers.

Reading is supposed to be fun but not this…

Reading is supposed to be fun but not reading plus when I’m reading and I’m not done with the story and I log out then I log back in later on it says I can start from where I left off but it just takes me back to the start of the story so that just wasted half of my time and don’t even get me started on the vocab it glitches so bad teachers and schools if your reading this don’t waste your hard earned money on this crap do real books instead ps I don’t think I improved using this also the story are okay it’s just the error and glitches it has that makes this not worth using my school still has it I hope they get rid of it soon once they see these bad reviews 1.2 stars really what a shame reading plus what a shame and also pls don’t take my word for it take the reviewer and reviews for it you the teachers and schools should use real books and papers instead not this.
