I ordered a “SAMSUNGMisleading product description and poor customer service AK59-00167A…
I ordered a “SAMSUNG AK59-00167A compatible remote control” from Remote Control World for my Samsung BD-F6500/ZF Blu-ray player. Their website clearly states that this remote is dedicated to the listed models and that “no setup, no pairing needed, just insert batteries and it works”. In my case, the remote does not work with my device at all, even with new batteries and after following all the basic tests they asked me to do.
I contacted their customer service several times. They kept suggesting more troubleshooting and finally promised to send me a code and instructions to reprogram the remote via USB. I agreed to that solution, but after my last email on 9 June 2026 they simply stopped responding and never sent the promised instructions. Since then I have been ignored and my problem remains unresolved.
At this point I no longer want a replacement and will buy a working remote from another provider. What bothers me is not only the small amount of money, but the fact that a company in the EU advertises “no setup, just works” while delivering a product that does not work as described and then fails to provide a proper solution or even answer.
Based on my experience, the product description was misleading and the after-sales support has been very disappointing.

The first remote I got sent for my Panasonic airconditioner didn’t work as it should, but after letting Remote Control World know, I quickly received a tested remote completely free of charge. I didn’t even need to send the first one back. Great service!

not a single response from customer service
the replacement "look alike" remote I was sent that is supposedly perfectly compatible isn't linking to the hood per the original remote instructions. I have reached out to them twice by email and been ignored. I reached out on the chat and they just said to send another email. It seems like this is a legit business but now I'm out cost of remote, duties and associated UPS fees which aren't refundable, as well as a significant shipping charge. Buyer beware!
addendum 6/15/26 - customer service posted a reply here that they reached out to me etc- but I did not get a message by phone or email. I checked my email inboxes very carefully so I know I didn't miss anything. Avoid at all costs, money down the drain.

I ordered a remote control from VAT two weeks ago, and I just received it. I’m already using it, and it works like a charm! Not only does this remote control clone cost at least three times less than the Philips replacement remote, but it’s also better designed than the original, which is going to end up at the bottom of a drawer.
One more thing: since my order hadn’t arrived after a week (I’d chosen the standard shipping option via the Post Office), I contacted VAT via live chat, and the response was immediate and satisfactory. To be honest, if someone I know has a problem with their remote control, I’ll recommend VAT without hesitation for their professionalism and the quality of the products they sell at an unbeatable price!

I ordered a remote preprogrammed for my Outlaw 950. I live in the United States and expected it to be expensive and slow to ship from Europe, but it arrived very promptly and without too much hassle. I later contacted the company to see how I could program another device to the remote - a service they charge for it you ask for it upon order - and they promptly provided instructions and the program I needed for how to do that for free. I offered to pay, but they graciously declined. Throughout this whole process they were extremely polite and helpful. I am very pleased.
