Following my review of Rent my caravan being posted on Trust pilot as a Scam site, I would like to make the following statement.

After posting my review it was seen by the customer services team at Rent my caravan. Within FOUR hours they had responded to me and apologized for the incident and arranged for a FULL refund of monies that had been taken from my account (now received).

The web development agency they were using went into liquidation and there were some leftover gremlins in the system which caused the issue, which is now being looked at by their current web developer.

The only thing I would prefer to be added to Rent my caravan is a contact telephone number, this would give people another way to contact them should issues arise (like mine) and negate any poor reviews being posted on review sites to prompt a response.

Dreadful website, no customer service from these people at all. I've been trying to list my caravan for holiday rental on this site for weeks. However the Google maps plug-in doesn't work correctly, so you can't update your caravan's location, which in turn prevents you from listing it correctly. The nightly pricing function is also broken, so you can't override standard nightly pricing with your own customised pricing. Once your caravan does get listed, then because the map feature doesn't work you can't update the listing. I've emailed their "info" email address twice with no reply, so I'm deleting my listing and would advise anyone not to use these clowns to market your holiday rental.

I found a holiday caravan that was just what we wanted for our holiday.
Seemed good revues but their comms were very poor and inconsistent - they advertised payment as being Paypal - but when I inquired they said NO and wanted a bank transfer but eventually agreed on a cheque.
When they gave their address it was 250- 300 miles away from the caravan site.
They then said they provided bedding but you have to provide your own pillows / sheets / duvet covers etc !
Anyhow their comms were very erratic and making further enquiries we got suspicious especially when they would not supply a map showing the location of the caravan on the site or it's name / plot number so we could look it up.
We eventually had had enough of the lack of efficent comms and so cancelled the booking and our cheque before it was cashed.

Maybe they were not very competent and just inefficent ? or were they really scammers ?

We don't know which - but it has made us even more careful about dealing with people on sites like these unless you are really totally satisfied that they are genuine and you fully understand what you are commiting to BEFORE you make any payment.
