Will overcharge, had an electrician come to do what should have been a 30/40 minute job , he was doing everything to run the clock up, even sat in the toilet for 20 mins. Poor work and poor attitude, he was obviously under instructions to try and get as much money as possible

It is a scam

It is a scam! I have used Check a Trade website, Repifix contacted me and they requested £140 upfront before doing any job, just to send someone, and that money will then go towards paying for the "work". However after the first consultation, if you decide to use another company, they won't refund it. They didn't state it was non refundable, until I asked for a refund. I am quite good with checking reviews before hiring someone, but I had just had a baby through an emergency c section, 5 days before that, and been on labor for 4 days. So I was not in the best of my mental capabilities. A company that takes advantage even of women in vulnerable situations tells you everything you have to know about them!

Do Not Attempt to Use This Company

Something has obviously gone seriously wrong with this company and phone calls, emails, and letters are not being answered. In June of this year I agreed to pay up front for one hour of labour plus VAT (total of £96) for a site visit by one of their engineers to give me what they said would be a professional report and quote for a storage heater replacement job. We agreed a date in August for the site visit to be made but no one turned up on the day and all my attempts at trying to contact anyone in the company have been unsuccessful. I had to give this review 1 star to be able to write it, but in reality it should have been minus 5 stars. I have attempted to write to the present director of the company, Justin Thomas, at their Companies House stated address of 1 Dock Road, E161AH but my letter has not been able to be delivered. Whilst £96 is not a huge amount to write off, this company has clearly been trading fraudulently and other potential customers need to be warned.

AVOID!

AVOID! They purposely underquote, and massively overcharge. They make you pay the first hour up front to lock you in, then when they turn up the job will take considerably longer than they said on the phone. The shelves they put up also fell off the wall when trying to apply paint! Finally, they also have awful customer service - no reposnse when I flagged all of the issues for 10 days, depite numberous emails and phonecalls. I ended up paying over £600 (which is outrageous for 10 shelves which were supplied) for no work essentially, had take them all down and to do it all myself. I wont go into the details of the rest of the issues, but all I can say is go to someone else - save yourselves a lot of grief! Worst company I have ever dealt with.

Not just unprofessional but dangerous

Not just unprofessional but dangerous. Left a leaking pipe after multiple visits for what should have been a simple plumbing job. The pipe leaked onto woodwork (which has warped requiring replacement) and electrics (which tripped all electrics in the house and could have started a fire). Had to have the plumbing work itself fixed by a competent plumber. Now they are ignoring correspondence to obtain a refund and compensation.

AVOID like the plague

AVOID like the plague! This company is a disgrace. Unprofessional, zero customer service, total cowboys! They will badger you for money upfront, we are 5 weeks now after we paid and still no refund for a job they didn’t even start. Charging in full for estimated works before they get out of bed is their way, clearly because no one would be silly enough to pay after! They cause more problems than they fix. Good luck trying to talk to someone, email only meaning zero accountability or resolution. Couldn’t fix our boiler (insufficient tools) but charged us for 6 hours anyway and a bunch of materials (no invoice sent to account for this), they caused a leak while doing the job and after we cancelled the quote for them to come back and make good, they take a percentage of the quote for themselves. How nice. Charged us for 2 additional hours as well (after working on it for 6 already) worked only 15 minutes and refused to refund it, complete cowboys and shameful approach to dealing with customers. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere

Avoid - dreadful

Just like almost everyone else it seems, I too had an awful experience with Repifix. What was a simple issue, but I lacked the right tools and so couldn’t fix it quickly, with a leaking connector to a pump. They tried to first off sell me a new pump (pump was fine) and then insisted the whole system needed draining. It didn’t - the valve was below it - and was specifically designed to enable it to be isolated! If I knew no better, they would have fleeced me further. As it was - they charged me for the hour I spent debating it with their “plumber” and the guy on end of phone. If I could have used his tools - I would have completed it within ten minutes. As it was - I was forced into paying for an extra hour on top of the four house already paid for. Wish I had been at home. Avoid.

Incompetent, Unreliable, Overcharging

I have paid over £1500 to replace the boiler's differential valve, plate heat exchanger, and 2 radiator valves. Of these 3 things, only the valves were replaced, which is the most basic and inexpensive job. They spent 7 hours trying to replace the other 2 parts and failed, leaving me with a leaking boiler (which didn't leak before!). It has been a week and a half since I've been trying to get someone back in to do/finish the work I've paid for, but they keep saying no one is available. You cannot trust this company.

Book Pimlico instead

Save yourself the hassle and just book Pimlico.

Contracted Repifix to install a mantle and a mirror, was quoted for a 1-2 hour job.
Paid £120 upfront for an hour.
Handyman came over, we paid for his parking, he drilled 4 holes in the wall without checking for wiring where there were visible plugs, had to abandon the job to the following day to come back with an electrician after drilling through a wire.
We then had to pay an additional £240 up front for both to come back.
The next day they both arrived, I asked to pay for their parking and they declined, the electrician made marks in bright red pen on our wall, and before the job was complete I got a call from their technical team saying I had to pay another £175 before they would finish the job (including £55 for parking).
We had to cancel the job, got someone from Pimlico in the following day with no fuss and cheaper (£114).

The following day they sent an invoice for £13 for parking on the first day. We provided proof (receipt) that we paid for parking, and that the handyman had accepted it (texts with him), but they insisted we still had to pay it.

TL;DR don't bother with Repifix, book Pimlico.

This was a big mistake to book these…

This was a big mistake to book these guys.

Arranged for an electrician to turn up on a set date and time, organised a tenant for to be there. The tenant was there but then got a phone from company saying they can't make that time. Wasted the tenants time and money.

The tenant then re arranged with the electrician a date and time but requested to be called as to when they would be attending or when they would be there. As they let him down before.

The electrician turns up without any call to the tenant, they now have closed the job down and won't reschedule. So they took £96 off me for not even doing the job they were meant to do.

These clowns need to be reported official as thieves, Do not use them for their service. Awful

Absolutely terrible level of service

Absolutely terrible level of service. Got them over for a two hour job for which they used 3 hours and wanted to charge for 4. Their hourly rate is the highest at £100, and they do not do half hour slots. They did not inform about their cost of time in buying the material at the time of contracting them. They did not show up on time on the first day, and therefore I had line them up for another day for which they initially threatened to charge me extra.
Do not engage their services - its horrible. Will never contract them again.

Next day - they even have the cheeks to send an additional invoice for a botched up job and terrible level of service!

I wish I’d read the reviews first

I wish I’d read the reviews first.

Unfortunately this wasn’t possible, as the company listed themselves as ‘London Plumbing & Handyman Services‘ on Checkatrade, rather than Repifix, I assume to stop this happening.

What happened to me seems to be a recurring theme. I needed a small job doing - fixing a dripping tap in a rental flat. A nice chap called Oscar quoted me £144 on the phone, and assured me that they definitely wouldn’t need more than an hour, ‘probably’ wouldn’t need any materials requiring a £35/£50 ‘collection fee’, plus they could come out immediately. So far so good, right? Wrong.

The plumber came as promised, spent 30 mins ‘diagnosing the problem’, then I had a call saying they needed a further £236 to complete the job. Sorry, what? 1)The tap couldn’t be fixed. Ok, I’m not there so I’ll give them that. £50. Plus 2)£42 collection fee. Hmm ok, I was warned in advance this may be a possibility, though I hadn’t considered the VAT on the £35. But the kicker was 3)A further £144 labour charge, for 45 mins more work, so 1hr 15mins total. Obviously they charge the full hour even if they’re only a few mins into it. So a simple leaky tap has ended up costing me a whopping £380.

Problem is, they had me over a barrel. Once the plumber was there, and I’d already shelled out over the odds, the choice was a) write off £144, and leave the tenant with no kitchen tap while I sorted out another plumber, b) swallow the cost and write a scathing review warning others to STAY WELL CLEAR.

(To their credit, the tap does seem to be working, hence 2 stars rather than 1.)

Total RIP OFF MERCHANTS! DO NOT USE!!!

Total RIP OFF MERCHANTS! Booked them via Checkatrade for a really simple job to reseal and regrout my bath area, sent pictures with my request. Were very helpful on the phone, seemed reasonable price £100 per hour. They make you pay for the first hour up front. When they arrive I get a call from their finance department saying they need £87 for 'materials' for a one hour job. I asked them for a breakdown, and why they didn't turn up to the job with grouting and sealant when the job spec was very clear. They first hung up on me, I called back and they just argued with me and were incredibly rude. I asked for my £100 back and to cancel the job, they refused. Reported them to Checkatrade, they are essentially RIP OFF COWBOYS, your choice is to either lose your £100 or pay extortionate extra fees to get the job done. I have no confidence they would do a decent job so I'm stuck with losing my £100

Do not use this company.

This company are complete rip off merchants. I went through check a trade and feel that my trust has been abused. They misled me into providing up front costs for installation of radiators. The man they sent was an independent un qualified trader. I counted my loses and did not proceed with the work. It is obvious Repifix use loopholes in terms and conditions to scam customers. Do not contact them.

Total rip off

Repifix answered an ad twice I posted on checkatrade using two different trading names 'London Handyman Services' and another name, neither of which were Repifix. At first I said no to them quoting for the job because they charge £96 to do so. When I called the 'second' company and discovered it was the same one, I agreed to them coming as no other handymen had contacted me. The guy who came was very nice so I thought it would all be good until I received their quote for £1100+ for a few handyman jobs. This included £900 for labour! I called to say the quote was ridiculous & felt very frustrated that I had wasted £96 for the quote. In the end I did manage to find a local handyman who did the jobs in 2 1/2 hours and charged me £130. Added to this I have received a second nonsensical invoice from Repifix & when I called to enquire I was told they don't deal with invoicing (the invoice said to call them to discuss) and my email reply from them left me none the wiser. I would recommend avoiding this company.
