Semi-obsolete product being sold and replacement parts discontinued

I bought a Rexel product about 5 years ago but during a house move a small but essential product was lost. I looked up the part number and ordered the part direct from Rexel. To my amazement I got a reply that the part was no longer made. Their advice was that I should buy a new piece of equipment. VERY USEFUL!
I later found out that a Rexel retailer was still selling the equipment even though it is technically semi-obsolete.
Frankly I find this kind of conduct is disgraceful and short sighted.

An absolute joke of a company !!! do not order from these people , placed an order over the phone Ipswich branch and Alex said will be with you tomorrow or latest the day after, nothing arrived so called him back and he came out with a load of bollox oh sorry the other department didn't send it I will get it sorted will call you back before 5pm defo, no phone call and still haven't got it and guess what Alex is now on holiday lol such a pony company wish we had read the reviews first best cowboys in town

Terrible SAFETY Design of Product and Not Fit for Purpose - Otimum Autofeed + 45 20L P4 Cross Cut Shredder

ACCO UK LTD - THIS REXEL BRANDED ITEM IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE and POSES A RISK TO ITS USERS:

Q.WHY DO YOU BUY A SHREDDER WITH A LARGE CAPACITY- A.because you have a large amount of shredding to do thats why - However I would recommend to anyone - do not touch this shredder with a barge pole and in fact I would not touch REXEL SHREDDERS AGAIN.

After a single shred of 45 sheets of paper - it stops and and lights up the bin is full - only the bin is not full its because it just piles up directly underneath and blocks additional shredding, so you have to lift the motor to get to the base to level out the shredding then go again. WHAT SORT OF AUTOMATED PRODUCT NEEDS MANUAL INTERVENTION literally after every single shred of 45 pages.

On top of everything the motorised engine you have to lift up or remove to get to the shredder collection box is extremely heavy - also on the last occasion today after i removed the box to empty the motor was still running on it when i returned back to the room - I would have thought it had an automatic cut off switch which would STOP the motor from running once the two parts are seperated BUT IT DOES NOT.

I have a £10 fellow shredder from Tescos that has an automatic cut off switch when you lift the lid so I dont quite know how this one passed any safty tests.

I did purchase the Shredder in October 25 due to a deal that argos was running but have only now needed to do some serious shredding hence why I am facing huge resistance in trying to return the product. I have all packaging as I have just began to use it with gusto.

Anyway ACCO and REXEL bad product design not fit for intended use and Safety of product raises serious concerns.

Swift and helpful

I was very happy with the service j received from the Great Yarmouth branch. Very polite and helpful on the phone and they delivered my trunking to my door next day without any issue. I can happily recommend on my experience

Poor experience

Collected 2 tubes that they said to be fair might not do the job. Said I could return them if not suitable. I took them back but couldn’t refund my card so I had to come back another day. Rang them a couple of days later asking them to order the alternative they suggested. Told I couldn’t order over the phone and must come in to pay first. This I did and he offered to deliver them for me on the Wednesday. Wednesday came and no delivery so I rang and he advised me they were out of stock and must have sold them before I ordered. Had to return again for a refund. Each time I was there I was kept waiting 😡 sadly I won’t be using them again. I am 8 miles from them so the fuel and my time doesn’t sit well with me. This was Cambridge branch.

scaaaaam

I ordered 25 qty of Strip 3.8mm 25 Meter Drum Nylon, but the website only sent me 11 qty. I contacted them on the same day, and they claimed the item was “out of stock” and promised to refund me so I could place a new order.
From October 9 until today, every time I ask about my refund, they keep repeating the same excuse: “You will receive it in 5–7 days.”
Nothing has been refunded.
The funniest part? Their website still shows 27 qty in stock, so clearly they lied about it being out of stock.
This company takes your money, sends the wrong quantity, lies about stock availability, and never processes refunds.
Be careful — this is not a trustworthy website.

RUBBISH. Place a order and not given time slot. Phoned customer service they said it would arrive at anytime?? So had to wait at home ALL DAY for my items. WONT BE USING REXEL AGAIN.

Do your drivers even have a licence???

Driver of LC74 ULJ needs to learn how to drive. Not allowing me to merge into the lane where they should have, instead trying to force me into oncoming traffic. Looks like I’m not the first to encounter this selfish driving. The sticker on your vans about speed?!! Absolute joke could have killed me just to get infront.

Bad driving

I encountered awful driving from MF22XSM in Bristol.
This driver seems to think he owns the road and cut me up, if I had not stopped he would have happily hit me to get his way.
No courtesy at all I wonder how their costumers get on!!.

I specifically refer to Yeovil branch

I specifically refer to Yeovil branch. Without doubt they are the most friendly, helpful & reliable wholesalers i have dealt with. The staff at the yeovil branch dont hide from the customers and are always there to welcolme you when you walk in. The manager is always there and serves you if the others are busy. That goes a long way and builds a good business relationship. I recommend Rexel yeovil & Glastonbury as they are the 2 branches we use.

Great store and staff.

Called in to replace 2 under kitchen unit flourescant tubes.
Young staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. So nice when you come out with what you want and actually enjoyed dealing with them.

Very disappointed

Very disappointed. I am elderly and live in a retirement development. We have a Rexel extractor in our bathroom. I emailed their customer service department on 9th December simply to ask for instructions as to how to clean the fan as it is making odd sounds when turned on. Never had a reply. Such a simple thing but they couldn't be bothered. If it is replaced I will make sure not to buy another one of Rexel's products. Reading through the other reviews it doesn't surprise me at all that the majority are awful. They certainly need to learn more about customer care.

Utterly incompetent or just plain lazy?

Ordered urgently needed item last Friday 14th from Shrewsbury branch - pre-paid and told it would be in stock on Monday. Called to pick it up and was told they didn't sell that item I must have ordered it from elsewhere. Subsequently checked my account details and confirmed as above. They then said that they in fact had the item and agreed to deliver it but it did not arrive! Chased up and spoke to someone who said their was no record of my previous call. Agreed again to deliver and finally arrived on 21st having fortunately received a call from the delivery driver who couldn't locate us due to not being given the full correct address.
If the staff at this branch can't efficiently expedite such a very simple task then its future doesn't bode well.
