1 Star
1 Star – Avoid. Great at taking your money, useless at safety and aftercare.
After buying five vehicles from Richardson’s and being a loyal advocate for years, our loyalty was rewarded with total neglect when it mattered most. We recently took delivery of a brand-new 2025 Puma Gen E which developed a safety-critical charging fault. The car couldn't perform a safety "handshake" with the charger, rendering it a high-voltage electrical hazard and a expensive "brick" on our driveway.
Despite the car being less than 6 months old and potentially dangerous, Richardson’s management and service department refused to even diagnose the vehicle for close a MONTH the said it could be close to 2+ months for REPAIR as they are so busy. Are they just selling faulty vehicles or what?! We have been incredibly patient customers—our other Ford (a Mustang Mach-E) has been in their workshop multiple times in just two years—but being told to wait weeks for a safety repair on a new car is the final straw.
It is clear that since they ditched the Ford brand in January to chase Jaecoo and Omoda, they have zero interest in supporting the "bread and butter" legacy Ford customers who kept their doors open for decades. They were desperate to price-match competitors to get our money at the point of sale, but were happy to let those same competitors (Stoneacre Scarborough) do the actual heavy lifting when the car became a liability.
The contrast is embarrassing: Stoneacre took the car in and fixed it in a matter of days while Richardson’s was still "looking into the situation." Even arranged a courtesy vehicle for us, meanwhile Richardsons were saying that if we needed a courtesy vehicle it would be close to 2 months as they have a long waiting list!
Wes in Sales is the only professional left in that building and the only reason we stayed this long. However, a good salesman can’t fix a management team that treats long-term customers like an inconvenience. We will never buy here again, and would actively advise everyone in Bridlington and the surrounding areas to take their business to a dealership that actually understands the word "aftercare."
If you value your safety and your sanity, drive straight past this forecourt. In fact, don’t even slow down.
If you want a driveway ornament and a month of being ignored, Richardson’s is the place for you.
