The order arrived sooner than expected

The order arrived sooner than expected, and ordering was easy. It has not been tried out yet as it is a birthday present for my husband. We will let you know the quality of the record deck after 5th August.

don't know

don't know, my instructions on delivery protocol and rs's terms of business (inspect goods b4 signing for them) weren't followed by the courier (rs's agent).

I was truly sorry to read that you've experienced issues with our courier. From initial investigation I understand that the parcel was left in a communal area by the driver, which of course they shouldn't have done without clear prior approval from you.

The TV I was looking for

The TV I was looking for, at the most competitive price and in stock for collection. I called ahead to check the stock and my set was reserved so that I would not have a wasted journey. Six year warranty as standard. Friendly and helpful staff.

Great customer service

I called to say I was interested in buying a specific TV but wanted to make sure I bought with a company that could pick up at the same time (I have a tiny flat and I don’t drive). Carl went out of his way to drop off the tv in his own car & pick up my old one. I was a bit frazzled at the time he arrived due to work so genuinely forgot to pay/tip but happy to pay if anyone sees this! Great customer service & so pleased with the TV!

Sexist staff

Went into the Kingston richer sounds with mum and family when my mum walked in she said hello and no reply Wich initially was strange however when my dad walked in one of the staff ‘myles’ greeted him normally. we had a look round at some turntables and we had an idea of the type of turntable we had in mind however when expressing our ideas ‘myles’ was quick to ignore what my mum had to say and seemed to not agree, even though we were buying the product, he then went on to not only ignore my mum but talk primarily to my dad ,even though she was buying the turntable, I found this service completely rude sexist and disrespectful and will not be returning to this richer sounds.

I was of course most concerned to read your comments further to a recent experience in our Kingston store, particularly the concerns you’ve raised around how your Mum was treated in terms of greeting and the resulting conversations.

Having reviewed this with the store, whilst they were sure that everyone was were greeted on arrival, and explained to me that there were a number of separate interactions taking place with different members of your party, they accepted that not handling such an interaction successfully may have led to the experience feeling uneven. I fully recognise that from a customer perspective, if it seemed as though attention was being directed elsewhere or that your questions weren’t taken seriously, this would cause you all consternation.

We take any suggestion of unfair or inconsistent treatment very seriously and as a business are committed to creating an environment where everyone is treated with the same level of respect regardless of who they are, an expectation extends to every customer interaction. We also work hard to ensure fairness more broadly across the business, including maintaining pay structures that reflect equality across the genders.

Helpful service, patient staff, good prices, great firm

I hadn't been into Richer Sounds for many years and was now looking for a complete new set of hi-fi separates. I hadn't looked up much on the website beforehand so wasn't quite sure what I wanted, and had a vague budget. It took about an hour to go through my options and find suitable items. I confess to being a little disappointed that I wasn't able to take all my preferred items away that day, as I had naively thought the store would have a lot of things in stock rather than generally delivering from a vast warehouse, but that was my fault as I am a relative newcomer to proper hi-fi equipment. Similarly there was a lot to choose from and the options were a bit confusing, though this was probably a lot to do with wanting four new separates (amplifier, turntable, CD player and speakers) and I kept jumping around between them rather than methodically looking at each in turn. I suspect most customers are more experienced and/or looking for just one of those components and probably also do their homework better than I did. Both staff members (Sunny and Carl) were very helpful and helped me make the right decision, gave me good prices and arranged delivery just 2-3 days later, and it was worth waiting for. They were both very courteous and friendly (and not intimidating as I had feared hi-fi experts might be towards a newcomer). I was also happy with their after-sales service where they answered several queries and sent links to other items I might need such as cables. I have always liked Richer Sounds as a business as they have a great reputation for quality, price, service and fairness to their staff as well as standing up for social justice, and I was pleased to find this reputation has remained the same decades later. I wouldn't really have considered going anywhere else and would definitely recommend them, though if like me you're buying a complete set of gear it might pay to take your time over each component one by one rather than diving in!
