Microlight flight
I bought a microlight flight for my son as a gift £65 for 25-30 minutes. We arrived on time at the Leven airfield but the pilot Rob, was running 1hr behind time, which wasn’t really a problem, but then for my son to only get approx 15 minutes in the air was rather disappointing. When I commented about this to Rob he just said that the timer started when the engine is switched on, but my son said that the timer said 15 minutes as they landed. The pilot knew the next person was also waiting and I got the feeling that he had cut my sons flight short in an effort to catch up on time. The organisation was pretty poor and he had no idea who was next or how long they had paid for. We had traveled 160 miles round trip and had been looking forward to it, but the whole thing ended up a big disappointment. The experience actually fell very short of the description which I purchased. I would not recommend or use again. ☹️

Based at Beverley airfield which is run by Hull Aero Club, RM Aviation specialises in Microlight aviation, they provide servicing and maintenance to a high standard along with full training to your microlight licence, I’ve had just a few lessons so far but I am very impressed with the training I’ve had so far, my instructor Rob is extremely knowledgeable, huge range of experience and he is incredibly patient (he needs to be with me!) whilst always giving positive feedback and encouragement during lessons, RM Aviation have different types of microlights available from flexwing to fixed wing which cover the general range available and all are maintained to a high standard, Rob has an excellent attitude to training and is approachable and professional at all times and can answer any questions you may have, the training is conducted in great surroundings which include a well maintained airfield to the other facilities including a cafe (very good) and a relaxing ‘clubhouse’ with training rooms etc, learning to fly is hard work but is so satisfying when you get the training quality I’m getting at RM Aviation and I would recommend them to anyone. I go to Beverley airfield as the general attitude and friendliness is much better than the other airfields nearer to me and I think it’s worth driving the extra miles to get the high quality tuition I’m getting and the friendly attitude of everyone from staff to the other flyers I’ve met and I always feel welcome and comfortable when I’m there which I feel is an important part of my learning to fly
