REMY 2002 EXPLORER STARTER

While I’ve used Rock Auto for many years with great success, my last attempt was a total bust due to a Remy starter for a 2002 Explorer 4.0. While the picture matched my starter, what wasn’t disclosed is that some dyslexic engineer apparently designed the starter solenoid terminals so the exciter wire mounts toward the exhaust manifold, rather than away from it like the OEM design. Not only did the terminal cover not fit, but upon connecting the battery cable, sparks flew and the starter tried to start the truck. I pulled it and remounted it three different times with same result. Dumb. The starter was grounding to the manifold due to this idiotic design. Went to Autozone and bought one with the OEM design. All over but sending the the damned Remy starter back where it came from!

Recently purchased quite a few front…

Recently purchased quite a few front end, parts, brakes, etc. rotors bearings, rock auto ship, the parts, when I open the box of brake pads. The box had the correct part number, but inside the box were different brake pads. I took photos and all documentation since there is no correspondence to rock auto I sent this with the return. They obviously did not bother to even pay attention to it. Charge me for shipping on both directions when I request requested refund for shipping on both directions plus refund on the brake pads heard nothing back other than a refund for the brake pads at a lesser amount than what I paid for them. This company has the worst correspondence I’ve ever seen. I would not recommend buying parts from this company their return policies are completely outrageous buyer beware

Tried to return a package did not realize box policy which is the most stupidest thing a business can do. Who cares what box it's in just give me my damn refund. Great prices but horrible business never buying again

I've spent a bit of money with RockAuto…

I've spent a bit of money with RockAuto over the last few years. Haven't had any problems with them until I had to return things. Their return service and failure to have a customer service line makes this process unnecessarily lengthy. And I'm still not sure if I'm going to get my money back or not. The website says three days after receiving the package that will return your money. That simply is not true. I will not be ordering anything large enough that I can't just write off from their side again.

This is the third and last order I will…

This is the third and last order I will place with this company. All three orders were promised many days ahead of actual delivery. They take your order, promise to ship quickly and then print a shipping label in order to process your credit card. Then it takes a week before the product moves. Never again. Online only beware, they want almost 10 dollars to print you a return label which I need because no customer will wait a week for a oxygen sensor replacement. Scam.

Yeah do not trust rock auto dot com

Yeah, like I said before. But you guys didn't publish it is. I'd give you a 0 but you didn't have a 0 on list. Ordered a crate motor from Lucy and she promised me 51000 miles on it. And then I was going to get it in 7 to 10 days. It took over a month to get it. It came on a busted up pallet laying on its side with damage done to the motor and the trucking company said that they showed me on their report that they picked it up that way. From whoever rock auto ordered it from probably a junkyard that had just ripped it out of a old wrecked rig. My mechanic said it looked like it had more miles on it than the motor I was replacing then after he changed a bunch of parts that were damaged. And put it installed it, it came up with low compression and blowing head gasket. And then roc auto wants me to ship it back and they're not responding anymore. So don't trust rock auto care. dot com. They also won't stand by their warranty. And when they shipped it to me on the packing order was no identification mark. So I couldn't make sure that it was the motor that they had shipped me. And they didn't seem to care about that either. Do not trust rock auto care. dot com.

Don't believe the Guaranteed Fit

I worked through the RockAuto site to find ABS sensors for my Sprinter van. The site double checked my vehicle down to is trim package. They confirmed the fit to be accurate. After purchasing and waiting to receive them, I found them to physically fit but they were electronically incorrect. NO RETURN on the part even though it was stated to have a return guarantee as well. I threw away the $100 new parts.

Ordered a replacement Ultra Power brand…

Ordered a replacement Ultra Power brand center console lid for my 2003 GMC 2500 HD pickup.
Easy to change out in 20 minutes.
Color and everything is a perfect match wouldn't know it wasn't the factory original.
Price and shipping were both very good.
Thanks Rock Auto for you help.

Frustrated

Paying shipping twice, because they sent the wrong part

I have bought thousands of dollars' worth of items. This might have been my first item that I wanted to return but why do I have to pay for an item that they sent wrong to me. I ordered a right rear shock assembly, and they sent me the wrong part. The number is right, but the box was mislabeled. They got it wrong but I need to pay the shipping to swap it out for the correct part????? Sounds pretty fishy,.. for accountability they get a F-

RUSSIAN STEEL CONTENT , LOST EU/UK ORDERS TO TASCA

Rock Auto need to sort themselves out, due to their incompetence they are losing thousands of dollars per day in lost orders due to not complying with export legislation regarding products that DO NOT contain Russian steel but Rock Auto cannot be bothered to obtain the correct documentation, I have switched to Tasca who can ship any of the parts to.the UK. If they don't sort these issues they will lose 1000s of sales and customers who will not return

VERY DISAPPOINTING

absolutely horrible purchased 2 items and paid next day express delivery obviously we're passed that day and still nothing not even a late emai nothing, so i went to track item and ups shows item hasnt been picked up so there is nothing to track, i get the great prices but when i pay for next day delivery at 19.99 yea i expect that delivery, i tried to email and find a way to reach but nothing so i hope this helps

Run away!!! CROCK Auto

Part sent was ordered for the correct vehicle, correct piece of the coolant system - not even close. useless customer "service" in trying to return. now i have to charge it all back.
close the website quickly!! run away!! rock BOTTOM service - useless joke. never again.

Ordered brake pads for my echo from…

Ordered brake pads for my echo from their list of parts specifically for my car. The pads were almost 2 inches too short for my car. Refused to refund or pay for shipping. No customer service at all to get a human brain to help. Very unhappy.

Ordered parts from them

Ordered arts from them, shipped part of the order with "used looking" parts, different manufacturer. Requested return/refund and was denied as they are saying parts sent do not fit my vehicle. Really??
Will never do business with them as there are insufficient means for resolutions...

No recourse when they ship you a bad part.

Any money you save by shopping at Rockauto.com will eventually be offset by their abusive returns policies.
I got burned by rock auto again today. They shipped me a damaged headlight beam in smushed product packaging. It was obviously damaged before it went in the rockauto packaging.
I went through their process - rockauto.com will NOT pay for return shipping or send out a replacement.

Just bad business practice
