After arriving in Vancouver in late August 2023 our excursion on the Rocky Mountaineer to Banff was one that was impacted due to the wild fires. Our Rocky Mountain Holidays representative, Tom Ockelton, contacted us immediately despite the late hour and his own community being impacted by the fires. Tom generously spent his time problem solving with us and ultimately provided everything we needed to be reimbursed for our loss. The customer focus was unparalleled! Rocky Mountain Holidays put together a wonderful trip for us. The Rocky Mountaineer train trip from Vancouver to Calgary was wonderful. Tom Ockleton worked with us to add excursions in our free time and they were excellent. We loved the accommodations. We would recommend this trip to everyone!

We booked our Rocky Mountaineer trip with Tom almost a year in advance. Throughout that time Tom was able to answer all our questions and adjust our booking to include extra hotel days before and after our train trip. We had a wonderful trip, I would recommend Rocky Mountain Holidays 100%. You can't beat local knowledge!

We started speaking to Tom in late 2020, however with one thing and another we didn’t manage our Rocky Mountaineer trip until 2023, through out this time Tom kept in touch, updated us and made sure we had a great deal. We was always professional and open in his communication. We had a fabulous trip, even after we threw a major curved ball right at the end, however he coped exceptionally well and all was well in the end, great trip great guy.

We had the great fortune to book our Rocky Mountaineer holiday with RMH and the wonderful Tom Ockelton. This was part of our 40th wedding anniversary celebration. Every part of the trip when like clockwork. The train had wonderful service, drinks and food and the bus transfers and excursions at Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper all provided great experiences. Tom has so helpful and always available to help with advice and I highly recommend you book via RMH and Tom.

Loved everything about this holiday - train, service, scenery, fellow travellers & hotels. The train guides and commentary was fantastic, as were the various coach tours. Visiting the Rocky Mountains was a dream come true, beautiful part of the world.

Tom Ockelton really knows what he's doing. He planned an eight day vacation for us that included the Rocky Mountaineer and day tours in Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff, ending up in Calgary. I called him based on a referral from a friend in Great Britain, and he took care of every detail, promptly answered every question and the easy to follow itinerary he provided left us with nothing to do but enjoy a well-planned trip.

My Rockymountaineer trip across Canada was the highlight of this year and it was mostly due to the diligence and professionalism of Tom Ockleton. From my very first email to Tom I knew that I was going to get the best planned trip ever. Every detail was covered and I could not have had a more amazing experience. My itinerary was full, I was looked after from the moment I got to the first hotel in Vancouver. The train was superb, from the comfort, the views, the meals on board and every member of staff especially the hostesses - they were professional, attentive and most of all knowledgeable on every detail of the trip into the Rockies. Thank you Tom and Rocky Mountain Holidays I couldn't recommend them any higher they were incredible.

Wow!!! We chose a great package with Rocky Mountaineer which took us on the train from Vancouver to Kamloops and then bus transfers to Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff, ending in Calgary.
Honestly the trip of a lifetime for our 40th anniversary! We were totally pampered on the train, and we signed up for the Silver Leaf service. Food was exceptional and drinks wonderful and plentiful!! All of our hotels and tours were more than we could have asked for! And if your looking for the person to coordinate your trip please ask for Tom Ockelton!!! He was phenomenal!!! So helpful, upgraded our hotels, very friendly, 18 years of service with the company and you couldn’t ask for better!!!

Fantastic organisation by RM holidays (Tom). Everything went like clockwork.The train itself was of course the highlight, but the hotels & other trips built around it by Tom (RMH) were brilliant too. Cannot recommend RMH highly enough.

We booked the gold leaf Rocky Mountaineer train service (so worth it!), the Vancouver hotel, and extended days in Banff with multiple day trips through Tom to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and our daughter's college graduation. The three of us had a wonderful trip and appreciated that all the details were handled by the agency. We even extended our trip by a day after paying off the trip and Tom quickly booked our hotel and car pickup change. The whole trip went smoothly and I highly recommend using this agency to book your trip rather than directly through the train company so you can customize your vacation.

I enjoy making my own travel plans however Canada was unknown territory for me and I contacted Rocky Mountain Holidays for assistance. Tom was great from the outset and provided my wife Heather and I with a complete package which included Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise, the Rocky Mountaineer and Vancouver. While most people celebrate their 50th anniversary doing something special, we ended up celebrating our 51st! That wasn’t our original plan but COVID had other ideas. I originally scheduled a Rocky Mountaineer Vancouver to Banff trip for September 2021 with three other couples. I saw a video on YouTube singing the praises of Tom Ockelton at Rocky Mountain Holidays and made the fortuitous decision to contact him to make arrangements. Through border closures, COVID rules, health issues and postponements, Tom was there redoing what had to be redone and reassuring me as we navigated around the obstacles. One of our traveling companions theorized that Tom never slept, he was that responsive to emails. While our trip ended up being just four of us because of unavoidable circumstances, it was definitely a celebration to remember and, thanks to Tom and Rocky Mountaineer, one that played out flawlessly.

Recommendation two: If you can possibly swing it and don’t have mobility issues, go with the Gold Leaf versus the Silver Leaf. One of the highlights of the trip was enjoying delicious meals in the dining room, sitting at a table with our travel companions. You’re taking a very special trip. Make it truly memorable!

Gorgeous views that made for a wonderful connection to nature, delicious dining and impeccable service from the time of booking to the end of journey. A well organized and smooth operation - very impressive! A personal shout out to Tom Ockelton who helped us sort through some last minute changes and went beyond the call of duty. He is such a professional and so personable, too! Strongly recommend the GoldLeaf service - well worth it! For my husband and I, it was truly an experience of a lifetime and a memorable trip to begin our post retirement travel.

Our trip to Vancouver and aboard the Rocky Mountaineer was truly a once in a lifetime experience! Our trip was 2 years delayed due to Covid. Tom made all the changes seamless, all emails & monetary transactions were perfect.
The day spent in Vancouver was excellent & check in was easy. Sutton Place hotel was beautiful. The send off @ Rocky Mountaineer station was something I will always remember. The train attendants & seating onboard were outstanding. Views were priceless & meals were amazing. We were pleased to have 3 beautiful clear days with crisp blue skies, just missing the fires near Jasper. Would recommend this trip to anyone who loves train travel & loves to see the beauty that is our Canadian neighbor.

Fantastic experience taking the train from Banff to Vancouver. First class service all the way and excellent service by all the Rocky Mountaineer teams. I would certainly recommend this trip to anybody considering the journey .... you will not be disappointed.
