Double cream consistency - bad batch?

Purchased in March 2026 from Tesco and as others have advised the consistency under the crust turned to double cream. Tastes nice but it's unusable for scones. Hoping it's a bad batch as I don't remember having this problem before with this brand.

I've always enjoyed Roddas clotted…

I've always enjoyed Roddas clotted cream, but recently when I opened a new tub the cream was like double cream and not at all suitable for scones, dessert ruined! I reached out to Roddas but they haven't responded, doubly disappointing. I'm not going to waste time or money buying this product again. I can see from other reviews about this product that I'm not alone in my experience.

Runny consistency, not proper clotted cream.

The consistency of this 'clotted' cream is runny under a thin crust. Clotted cream should be thick and, well, creamy. This just tastes like average double cream. I wouldn't buy it again and I've tried Roddas from a couple of different outlets recently.

Black Mould in clotted cream

Bought some Rodda's Clotted Cream through a supermarket.

Several days before the Use By Date it had black mould growing in it.

Contacted Rodda's through their website which wouldn't allow me to upload pictures it just kept resetting the form.

Received a reply, some standard excuse and an offer of a voucher.

I replied with photos and never heard from them again.

Contacted the supermarket who also emailed Rodda's. They ignore us both and no voucher.

Needless to say, won't buy their products again. They have displayed to me they are totally uninterested in black mould in their products or their customers' experience.
