Neyland branch
Neyland branch. Really brilliant experience buying my car here! The staff were very friendly, helpful and made everything clear and straightforward from start to finish. No pressure, just good service and a quick and easy handover. Love my new car thanks so much! Would definitely recommend to others.

Purchased a car locally from the Neyland branch. Must say the customer service from the start to end was excellent. Couldn’t have been any more helpful and really made to feel at ease. All members are staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. A fantastic branch and would highly recommend. Will definitely be using them again.
Great service
I went to cross hands branch where I met Tom at first , he was very friendly and polite and he took time to help me find the car that I wanted. Tom was fabulous and very helpful. I eventually found a car I really liked but it was in a different branch . Within 24hours my vehicle was delivered to the cross hands branch . Keith then went through finalising the finance and he was very professional, friendly and helpful. I can’t thank Tom & Keith enough for the service they provided me and also the reassurance I got when needed about changing the vehicle. I will definitely be using Ron Skinner cross hands again. Thank you
Not what they used to be.
After purchasing numerous of cars over the years usually pretty good up until my last purchase. Palmed with that problem is going to cost you £2500 not even half way into my finance agreement yet alone 2 years. Was quick enough to value my car at a very low market car value. Rather than work with me to resolve the issue they wanted to potentially sell me another car and pay my negative equity off and finance a new agreement.
Sorry but that’s poor customer service and a lack of respect showed as a loyal customer.
Aftercare isn’t there, loyalty as a customer means nothing to them. Very disappointed to say the least,
Avoid at all costs.
Amazing, pleasant experience
This is the 3rd car we have purchased as a family at Ron Skinner Neyland, nothing but the best service from a friendly team. They always go above what's expected and the cars are always pretty much perfect. Will be an ongoing customer for years to come ☺️
Our experience was dreadful
Our experience was dreadful. Ron skinner lied to us and didn't want to help at all. Leaving us with a car that had broken down. Eventually we had to swap the car for a different one.
With a different garage.

This has been our third purchase from Ron Skinner and Sons and cannot fault the service we have received. We have never felt pressured to buy add on we may not one. The entire team is patient and accommodating. We won't buy anywhere else . Jonathan at the Tredgar branch and Tina at Cardiff and everyone I encountered were brilliant.
Steer clear....not the company it used to be
My husband had been buying cars from Ron Skinners for a considerable span of time before he met me. Since we met he has purchased 3 more vehicles and with 2 of these we have had issues with various things. A nissan juke was bought in 2023, within a few days of purchase we noticed the air con didn't work, the speakers where blown and it smelt of dog if left a couple of days. Withing a few months we had 2 dangerously bald tyres, upon investigation it transpires that the mechanics at Ron Skinners had changed the track rod ends but didn't both to re track the car resulting in badly wearing tread. They did EVENTUALLY sort these issues after much toing and froing. Fast forward less than a year and the dpf started failing, so my husband cut his losses and handed the car back to the finance company. After a diagnosis for cancer we decided that we needed a decent car, and because my husband is personal friends with some staff up there he persuaded me ( against my better judgement) to buy from them again. We found a car we where happy with, finance was sorted and the car removed from the website straight away. Bare in mind, we live 3 hours away from the showroom so this sale was based on trust, more fool me. I had to keep asking about service history, on a £14,000 you would expect this to be standard..... especially as the warranty they want you to buy is based around the car having appropriate service history. So let's get on to these 'warrenties'......in a few words 'mis-sold and not worth the paper they are printed on. At no point is it ever mentioned in their sales pitch that you are only covered for between £40 and £48 per hour mechanical labour. It's also not mentioned in the printed cover certificate, we only found this out when, after only owning the car for 3 months the engine management light came on and the garage we booked to take a look told us we would have to make up the shortfall. The staff at Skinners simply told us we where lying ....even tho 2 different people at the warranty company told us the same thing. And last.....but probably not least, I purchased a private number plate for my husband's birthday, we then realised we hadn't received the V5. Did some digging....and lo and behold the staff at Ron Skinners had not even bothered to send off the V5 they held to re register it to us. At best £25 to replace, at worse £1000 fine if pulled by the police. And do you know what the response from Ron Skinners was ..........👍
Yep.....a thumbs up. Do yourself a favour and buy elsewhere.
Jack- Outstanding Service
Jack in the Neyland branch offered a professional, service orientated experience when looking for our next vehicle.
Thanks to his extensive knowledge of vehicle specifications, he kindly found a number of options to match our requirements from the many Ron Skinner branches.
We are so grateful to him for spending so much time with us.
He completely exceeded our expectations and we strongly recommend his services to others.
Purchased a vehicle from Ron Skinners…
Purchased a vehicle from Ron Skinners Neyland in April 2025, unfortunately we had a few issues with the vehicle, initially the garage seemed helpful but after another breakdown they just stated use the MG warranty. There are a few things that are not explained during purchase. Although they carry out a service this is not uploaded to the MG site meaning if you have an MG service they do not recognise it as its not recorded on their system. I purchased a service plan with Skinners but I cancelled after 6 payments, no service carried out by Skinners so I asked for a refund of payments, they refused. Poor customer service.
*BE VERY AWARE*
Having purchased a car in March 2024, 3.5 years old, 3.5 years remaining on the warranty, and only 4k miles on the clock, I thought I'd found a good deal. How wrong I was. The full service history was provided and explained by the Sales Manager, who also took me meticulously through the service process to ensure that the warranty remained valid. A service was promised before collecting the car from the Cardiff branch, where the service was again confirmed.
A few months later the car started to breakdown, with 3 call outs by the AA, and 2 garage visits, one completing a further service. The car was taken to Drive MG Bristol, as, so I thought, was still under warranty. I was then informed, 5 days before Christmas, that to my horror, the warranty was invalid, as the service records were invalid.
The service I was told was carried out with the MOT on 22/03/24, could not be located by Ron Skinner, claiming first that it should have been in the pack, then that it was destroyed in a fire, and finally that it may not have taken place at all. Drive MG diagnosed a contaminated engine, with a replacement engine offered for £12500! After months of communications with Drive MG, and MG Head Ofiice, both placed the blame firmly on Ron Skinner's shoulders. MotoNovo Finance were then contacted and eventually replied 3 months later, and after a 5 minute phone call, looked into the agreement, coming back with the astonishing information that the car was not sold with a service history, and was also not sold with a warranty!!
From this information, we have gathered that Ron Skinner has either not given the correct information to me, or to MotoNovo Finance, with whom they work closely.
I have been left with an unfit vehicle that cost £15000, that lasted only 6 months, left me with a further £10961 bill for hire cars over a 10 month period, and has now had to be scrapped. On top of this, no end of hassle and stress trying to sort things out.
Nothing was forthcoming from Ron Skinner's promises to 'get everything resolved', so the matter is now being taken further, with MotoNovo finance implicated also.
So basically, if you are looking for a reliable dealership, with trustworthy documentation, and a reliable vehicle, look somewhere else, but if you are happy to be fed misinformation, broken promises of service records, given invalid documentation, and sold what now appears to be a faulty vehicle, then Ron's your man.
(I now have a portfolio ready to go, of the service records provided, emails from Ron Skinner, Drive MG, Drive Customer Support, AA breakdown reports, garage repair and service bills, and communication from MotoNovo).
Absolutely great experience
Absolutely great experience! We needed a new car (previous 2 from Ron Skinners) and we sorted one then changed our minds, and they were super helpful and patient with us, and we picked up the new csr yesterday and it’s faultless and spotless. Will be returning for our next cars in future
Disappointed
I am very disappointed as I took out one of their protection policies which included breakdown cover. I was led to believe that this was national cover and I now find out that the cover is only valid within 30 miles of one of their offices. Very disappointing for sales people don’t actually understand or know what their policies cover.
Misleading and disappointing service
Myself and husband went to view cars yesterday in Ron Skinner, Tredegar. We were given a valuation for our car of £4700. We told the lady we would go home do our figures and be back tomorrow. We went back today and decided to buy a £19,000 car. Sat down ready to part exchange our car and purchase the BMW. Sales man asked to look around our car. Following this he said due to the engine management light being on the valuation we were given yesterday would now likely be lower. We asked why this wasn’t noted and why we were not advised of this yesterday. They couldn’t answer this and said they weren’t under any business pressure. They weren’t prepared to honour the valuation that they gave yesterday. They offered to put it on the machine for us later in the week as they didn’t have anyone available to do it today. That didn’t work for us and they didn’t even ask for our contact number. We left disappointed but went on to buy a similar car from another garage later this afternoon. A deal breaker on what potentially we have been advised is only a sensor issue.
New car purchase
Excellent service we always have a warm welcome at ron skinner and sons in neyland special thanks to Greg, Mark and Phil for all your help from Tracey and john
Unprofessional
I purchased a vehicle from Ron Skinner & Sons Cross Hands over three months ago and was told it came with a full service history, one of the key reasons I went ahead with the sale.
Despite numerous follow-ups and repeated promises that the documents would be sent, I’ve still not received anything.
What’s worse is that after weeks of delays, I was told I could contact the dealership they sourced the car from myself to get the documents, which is completely unacceptable. I didn’t buy the car from that dealer, I bought it from Ron Skinner & Sons, who made the claim and should stand by it.
This experience has been incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. I’ve been more than patient, giving them multiple chances to put it right, but there’s been no proper resolution. Based on this, I wouldn’t be buying from them again, and I’d advise others to be cautious, especially if you’re relying on promises like full service history.
Agreed a deal to exchange a 4×4 for a…
Agreed a deal to exchange a 4×4 for a vauxhall combo, they offered us £6,000 for the 4x4, arranged to do the swap, turned up on Wednesday morning at Crosshands when one man came out and said he'd take the 4x4 for a test drive it'd only take 5 minutes to check it over, 30 mins later, he came back and said the 4x4 high and low gears weren't working, then someone told us it would cost £ 1400 pounds for a part plus other bits would come to over £2.000 , then the garage person said that the exchange couldn't go ahead unless they dropped the price from 6k this stopped exchange and we took the 4x4 home, worried there was something wrong next morning we took the 4x4 to a garage to have the gears checked only to be informed there was nothing wrong with the 4x4 and all high and low gears were working correctly. Very disappointed in this day and age that these practices still continue, will be taking the matter further.

Awful, amateur, unprofessional, unacceptable service
Awful, unprofessional, shocking service at RW Skinner Solicitors in Burton on Trent this morning. I attended my 10.30 appointment to make a 'Will'; (arrived punctually - 10.20 arrival).
This appointment was booked well in advance, 6 to 8 weeks ago. The receptionist told me that due to a change of circumstances with a member of staff, and/or this office is due to close, they are unable to go ahead today, or at all moving forward.
My response was, "Why didn't anyone bother to contact me?". Her response was, "We didn't have your contact number".
At the time of booking the initial appointment, I offered to give the lady my contact details, but she said it wasn't necessary!
This is so unprofessional and the whole experience has been a complete waste of my time. Disgusting, amateur behaviour.
