Superb service from terry
Shout out to Terry I had purchased the R410 a simply astonishing piece of Kit and looks the business as well and I had some issues with the Turntable Noise, The questions I ask are always replied to within minutes and Terry even called and suggested I grounded the system, this seemed to work and reduced the horrible noise I had. Ruark are a first-rate company that can back up their excellent products with first class after sales service, their excellent website is updated regularly as well

Super quick turnaround, very efficient processing and communications. The price of the repair work was very reasonable. Highly recommended.
Major problems with connecting remote speakers
I have the R5 with two remote MRx speakers. The sound, when all three components work, is wonderful. But I have had persistent problems with one or more parts of the system dropping out and these days I have to reboot everything every single time. Customer Service referred me only to the clunky and ineffective UNDOK app and have not been able to fix the problem.

A shout out for Terry at Ruark Customer Services. We have had an R1 for many years and have been delighted with it.
In December the volume dial gave up. I sent an on-line enquiry to see if I could purchase a replacement part. Terry replied between Xmas and New Year and in January a new dial arrived at no cost.
Super pleased at the support and would buy again.
POOR HiFi
I have the R5 plus the two extra Rx speakers .The unit was very hard to set up .
I have also tried connecting it to the tv with an optic cable to have the tv going through the unit . There is an unacceptable delay on the sound . when i phoned customer service i was told the unit does not operate as a sound box for the tv , What is the point of having an optical lead to connect to a tv if you cannot use it . I wish i had never purchased this unit . I have had this unit for approx 1 year and totally regret buying this RUBBISH

Ruark really do have a beautiful bass sound
I bought an R3 Music system 8 years ago which is linked up to my television, and my Denon turntable. It regularly plays the radio, CDs and all of the above with a deep rich beautiful sound.
In that time there was a small fault with the digital display 2 years ago, which was replaced quickly and now works perfectly. Last week the remote stopped working with a new battery, again this was replaced quickly and without issue.
My kitchen radio is a Ruark R1, which has so much power and sound quality for a little box. James

Ive been a customer of Ruark for over 10 years and had faultless service from 3 different products. I have also had to call on their customer service department and each time they have responded brilliantly (even over the weekend) replacing aged worn parts FOC. They have been very helpful and professional in support of great products.
Poor service.
Poor service on my first R5 which had constant problems and was replaced without fuss from the retailer. The second unit had the same issues. Ruark’s service department said they were unaware of any problems. I took the faulty unit back to the retailer and received a full refund with an apology.
Imagine my reaction when the unit was discontinued a few weeks later!
It was a shame as the sound was great but just the faults kept occurring, however I heard the R3S later in the same retailer and AGAIN liked the sound for the value and the use I was going to put it to.
So far it has dumped all my saved radio stations. I was told by the Ruark service dept to pull out the power supply from the back to re boot it….
I’m on to my fourth reboot as the CD does not show the track titles the same every time.
Great sound, just a nagging worry in the back of my mind….

"I recently received the new RS1 Subwoofer and set it up. The sound quality is impressive. However, there is a significant issue with the aesthetics. The RS1 features Rich Walnut top and bottom panels, which do not match the MR1 Bluetooth Speaker System I've owned for some time. I purchased the RS1 to complement the MR1, and while it performs well in terms of audio, it's a visual mismatch. The shade of the RS1 is a much darker and somber brown compared to my MR1, creating a jarring contrast. This could be a problem if the subwoofer is placed in a visible location. I consider this a quality control problem, and I'm really disappointed."
Thanks for the reply but, I was so disappointed I either returned or sold, on EBay, any Ruark Audio equipment I had. I personally, will never again entertain any further equipment from Ruark Audio.

R5 looks the part / worth the price.
We have had our R5 for over three years now and in that time it has worked like a dream, great sound for a one box style HiFi, we wanted something non plastic or black looking and have the Walnut one, it still looks like brand new, to be honest we are old school and only really use the CD which suits us, it looks super in our house as we have a lot of real wood around, [ floors etc ], very pleased with it 5 Stars

The unit is fantastic, a great sound & a really easy to use controls.
Incredible, brilliant and versatile radio
I purchased the Ruark R2 mk 4. This is my second Ruark, the first I bought about 12 or 13 years ago, the original R2i, which still works perfectly.
The R2 mk 4 is sensational, I bought this for my lounge, the other is my bedroom radio, and the sound is just incredible. I tried to experience full volume but I couldn't because it was so loud at about two thirds that I started to worry about a response from my neighbours, not to mention blowing my windows out.
The sound is crisp and clear, no hiss, no crackle just pure beautiful sound with a rich depth that you simply need to hear. The 3d and stereo effect is clearly defined. I was also astonished by how good the internet radio worked, easy to use and clear crisp reception. I listened to a Texas radio station like it was BBC 2. I also plugged a USB stick in and that worked equally well.
Be aware that you need a USB "C" for this set.
The only niggle I had was I couldn't get my radio to store presets after number 4, which I did by means of the little remote you can buy for this unit.
I contacted Ruark from their website and a very nice gentleman rung me and talked me through it, I just wasn't doing it quite right all though I would argue the instructions are a little vague on this and could be written more clearly. Superb service from Ruark This unit is quite large and heavy but I think it looks brilliant as well, the display is also pin sharp and clear. I could go on all day but will stop now, other than to say, it may be expensive , but it is worth every penny. Incredible radio, really special.
FABULOUS RUARK R3
I bought a R3 Ruark. I am old and the seller, Acton Gate Audio in Wrexham, set it up for me. It is very simple to operate and the remote works perfectly. The sound is connected to my TV and is clear and much louder than I expected. I have the choice of many DAB radio programmes and my cds glide into the slot smoothly. Altogether a brilliant buy and I love it.
I bought an R3system via John Lewis…
I bought an R3system via John Lewis online last week . It arrived on Sunday and on set up that day was working fine . By Monday the CD drive was not working and a CD was stuck in it . I contacted Ruark by email and phone . Terry the CS manager was very friendly and apologetic and so prompt and helpful. I already have a replacement unit and will now be setting that up and checking it works before returning the first one for Ruark to extract and return my CD . Whilst it was disappointing to encounter this problem the fact that Ruark tackled and dealt with the issue in this way without any prompting speaks volumes for their customer care .
Good and bad news
Good and bad news. First the good. I have bought two R4i Audio units. Quality of product great and sound good - with a caveat, the remote. The remotes have failed with both units pretty quickly. A remote repair service is offered (£35) or can be replaced (£60)....not too bad. It's just that the remotes shouldn't fail as quickly as they do. We treat them carefully, the batteries are changed (even though they don't need to be) - but they don't work. Raurk suggest the button on the front is pushed in or LED lights in the house affect the remote signal. Neither of these reasonaby explain the deficiency. One might think that one unit could be bad luck, but not two units....and in new models, the remotes are hard wired in, which suggests to me this problem is not unique. But at £600 a pop, I can't exactly throw in the towel and buy a different unit. If I were starting again today, I would. Far more competition around nowadays and Ruark is not the class leading product it once was.
Service above and beyond (better than Buzz Lightyear)…
I don't often leave reviews but I feel compelled to pass on my thanks and gratitude to all at Ruark for the recent repair carried out on my old discontinued R2 audio unit.
All I had to pay was carriage to Ruark, they carried out an extensive repair FOC and even paid the return carriage.
Thank you Terry, your company is definitely the mutts nuts.

I bought a pair of MR1 mk2 active media speakers on Ebay and the seller sent the speakers without the clip-on plug for the mains adaptor. He'd lost it, so I contacted Ruark customer services thinking that I'd have to buy a replacement complete mains charger set. But they replied very quickly and offered me the clip on mains plug free of charge! Amazing audio from these compact active speakers and 100% for the customer service. Well done Ruark!

Absolutely disgraceful service from this company. I have e-mailed the service manager TWICE and both emails have been ignored - the latter email was copied to info@ address so no excuses.
I wonder what it takes to get these people to respond?
