Scam alert!

My mum was set up with a Dd without her consent. This is a pattern of her being set up for fake plumbing, drainage, window etc insurance by various companies in the Bournemouth/Poole area. I suspect they are all related. Contacted interbacs to cancel the Dd. They seemed aware of this company, who apparently ceased training last year. Someone connected with this company is using it as a cover to scam elderly and vulnerable people. Total scum. Avoid!!

I'm absolutely certain this is a scam…

I'm absolutely certain this is a scam and intend to report to trading standards and the police. Dd set up on my father's account without his consent- he has a call blocker on his phone. There are a few companies registered in the Bournemouth and Poole area who have targeted my father for appliance cover, plumbing cover, drainage cover and I suspect these rogue traders are sharing account information. Needs more than just posting reviews on trust pilot, a national effort to track down the people involved( there is never a trading address, only a registered address which is usually an accountants address).

Preys on the vulnerable

The company Safe Shield UK was dissolved in August 2023 but called my elderly mother who has dementia in June 2024 even though she was on the Telephone Preference Service and got her to agree to a direct debit for 'Appliance Care' which she didn't need. Cancelled direct debit and sent company details, director personal details and registered address to TPS.

These low-lives pestered an elderly…

These low-lives pestered an elderly relative into setting up a direct debit for one of their plans (which probably are worthless anyway) despite him being registered with TPS, so they should not have been calling in the first place. Fortunately I was able to help him block the direct debit before any money was taken out. These people are very shady operators and I urge anyone with elderly relatives to regularly check their finances to help keep people like this away from them.

My Mum lives on her own

My Mum lives on her own, 86 years old, with moderate vascular dementia. We've put both her landline and mobiles on telephone preference service (> 10 years ago) and this week my brother had notification of a DD being set up in the name of this company.

We're not in the room when the call takes place so can't verify the exact details, but my point if she is on TPS reputable companies shouldn't be contacting her as they should get their contacts from reputable sources. It would appear that these people don't do this as I can't imagine why my Mum would suddenly get in her head that she must get her appliances insured on any given day! My Mum can't tell us much because sadly her short term is very limited so I hesitate to say unequivocally the company is in the wrong but it looks a bit suspicious.

Caveat Emptor!

A proper cowboy tele sales outfit

A proper cowboy tele sales outfit
Managed to set up a direct debit in a vulnerable 89 year old lady’s name.
Won’t email back confirmations or evidence of phone calls.
There are several Company’s passing older more vulnerable people’s contact details around as it is easy pickings for them.
The first that they know is when an agreement gets posted & with luck it can be stopped in the cooling off period.
Avoid like the plague

something's not right

There is something not right , they somehow managed to set up a direct debit in my father's account for a window maintenance contract, he didnt ask or order or request this service, I also wasnt very happy with the response when I called to enquire , I explained my father is very old and very ill, but I only got that far as I was informed that wasnt his problem , so not the best performance really.
