Early settlement? Good luck with that
I have been trying to pay off my loan in full for nearly 2 weeks. I still have not received the itemised statement how my direct debits, early repayments have been allocated, how much interest I paid over the months, how much overpaymwnt I made now, etc .Customer Service team keeps sending me random early settlement figures, no explanation, no breakdown. no option to settle the loab online, like you could with any other lender.(I closed my tesco loan off in about few hours) Salary Finance will still take the next direct debit in 2 weeks time despite wanted to settle the loan 2 weeks ago right after my previous direct debit was taken.
Apparently it was too early to settle my loan then but now too late to cancel the DD as it comes through payroll.
Their website only shows settlemnt figures and total loan figure with interest. As a finance person myself- it is total useless information and it seems they are lacking transparency on purpose.
I just sent a formal complaint and if they dont close my loan off in a week I will report them to the relevant authorities.
I would like to say it has really…
I would like to say it has really helped me out of a sticky situation it really did take the pressure off me. Many thanks from A W
Easy to use
Easy to use, money in the same day as requested. Great service, helped a lot!
Appalling breach of FCA Consumer Duty and Treatment.
Type of Case: Financial Misconduct, False Credit Default, and Severe Vulnerable Customer HarmRelevant
Legislation: FCA Consumer Duty, FCA CONC 7 Rules, and the Equality Act 20101.
Chronological Timeline of EventsFebruary (Late Night): I received an automated email at 11:55 PM stating that a loan application had been accepted.February (Midnight): Exactly five minutes later, at 00:00 AM. I immediately replied and explicitly requested that the application be cancelled. Salary Finance completely ignored this request and forced the loan activation anyway. Feb/Apri.
I launched a formal dispute regarding the unwanted loan. Salary Finance agents explicitly promised him that they would put a strict hold on the account and stop all payments while the investigation took place.
The Systemic Error: Behind the scenes, Salary Finance's automated systems wrongly recorded the paused investigation payments
. This administrative error actively created artificial arrears totaling £135.Ongoing Harassment: Despite repeated assurances from staff that automated collections were frozen and told to ignore anymore notifications which was a lie. The automated systems continuously harassed me with late payment reminders and warning messages for months.
The Letter of Default: Salary Finance escalated their error by issuing a formal Letter of Default, threatening to permanently ruin my credit file over a balance that grew entirely because they paused the account.
Physical and Mental Health Impact of a vulnerable customer with learning difficulties. The severe administrative incompetence and relentless automated harassment by Salary Finance triggered a major health crisis over several months.
I experienced profound mental anxiety and continuous physical pain. The trauma caused him to stop eating properly. I became so physically ill from the stress that he reached a breaking point where he nearly required an ambulance for emergency medical intervention.
Current Remedy StatusThe Insulting Offer: A Salary Finance Complaints Officer issued a final response offering a completely inadequate £70 compensation payout [Vento bands presidential guidance April 2026 addendum]. They falsely claimed needed to "take steps to lower his stress," completely reversing their legal duty to protect vulnerable customers from harm. The Rejection: Mr Yeoman has officially rejected the £70 offer. The
Justified Demand:
Based on Equality Act 2010 I am demanding a substantial financial compensation payout of £1,500 at least, the total wipeout of the artificial £135 debt, and the absolute deletion of the false default mark from Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion [FOS Framework].
The severe administrative incompetence and relentless harassment from Salary Finance has completely broken my physical and mental health.
As a vulnerable customer with learning difficulties, being promised that my account was paused, only to be hit with aggressive late letters and a false credit default for a debt they caused, triggered a catastrophic health crisis.
The anxiety and mental trauma became so overwhelming that I stopped eating properly and was made profoundly ill. The physical and psychological pain pushed me to an absolute breaking point where I was in so much agony and distress that I nearly had to call an ambulance for emergency medical intervention.
To treat a vulnerable customer’s medical crisis with a standard, insulting £70 offer shows a disgusting lack of care and a total failure to understand the severe human harm their systemic mistakes have caused me. Your staff repeatedly acknowledged in writing via email that these late payments were entirely your company's fault. Yet, despite admitting your own error, you still failed to stop your automated systems from hitting me with constant late reminders and unfair payment fees, continuing to harass me while knowing you were in the wrong.
