Very poor experience – I wouldn’t use Salary Finance again
I took out a Salary Finance loan around two years ago and everything was fine until I changed jobs two months ago.
I contacted them to explain that my payday had changed to the last working day of the month, so the loan payment would need to be taken after this, effectively on the 1st going forwards. The advisor confirmed it would be and I really hope the call was recorded. I was sent a schedule confirming the payment dates, so I thought this had been sorted.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t. They continued attempting payments on inconsistent dates. In July, a 31 day month, for example, they attempted to take the payment on 30th, before I had been paid. The payment therefore didn’t go through. They tried again on 5th August and it was paid without any problem.
When I contacted them again to explain that I had already notified them of my payday change and asked them to check the previous contact/recordings, I was told they would report the payment as a missed payment on my credit file.
I completely disagree with this. The payment was not missed — it was paid. More importantly, the situation would not have happened at all if they had followed the payment date I had agreed with them after notifying them of my change in payday.
I have now paid the loan off in full and will not use Salary Finance again.
It’s incredibly disappointing. I was a customer for two years with no problems, but the poor communication, slow responses and failure to follow the agreed payment arrangements have completely changed my view of the company.
I’d rather give my money to a company that can communicate properly, follow agreed arrangements and take responsibility when things go wrong.

Salary finance has helped out in times of need especially around Christmas where I need money early for Christmas presents etc. it’s also come in handy for advice and loans.

This new advance pay thing is a lifeline. It was quick and efficient at the very time I needed it most and it's cheap to use.

Great service. It’s really helped me build my credit up too as it does appear on my credit report. I didn’t qualify for the full amount and they offered me a lower amount which is great as most companies will just say no and thats it. Its easy too as it comes out my wages so i dont even think about. I could a good sized wage rise this year too so I actually forgot i was paying it. It was really fast too. Money in my bank 10 mins later and this is my third loan so it’s consistently good service every single time. I dont normaly do reviews unless im genuinely happy and feel like ive had extra from a service and this is the easiest i think a process like this can be. I called cust service one time to ask a question and i got through super quick and spoke to a real life genuine human being and not AI. they helped me on that call and it was resolved on my first and only call. I cant think of anything more to say other than if your thiking about using them go for it. Soft credit check too so risk free. Im really paranoid and skeptical about things like this and if it wasn’t amazing id definitely say. Glad to use the service and I’ll use it again after this loan is up. Happy days.

Has to be the worst app of its kind available. I used wagestream with my previous employer and that was brilliant, so I hoped that this app would be the same. I first downloaded this app in March, and the app still doesn’t work for me. After months of waiting and trying to find a resolution with the apps support team I’m still no further forward.

Complete waste of time.

Very helpful when needed, very easy process

I have been using Salary finance for about a year now and it has been fantastic, I work extra in the month and I get a little short on occasions before payday, The money is with you within minutes and it does not affect credit scores. It is easy to use and if you need it it is there. Brilliant service.

Sometimes when you plan where your money is going and then three or four things drop in when not expecting it and you have to decide if Paul pays Peter or Peter pays Paul but stop Salary Finance is there to help its super quick and easy. All the information is in plain English what it is going to cost to borrow and if it is coming out of Salary on payday or Direct Debit on payday. As it is controlled borrowing you take as much as you need and the cost to borrow is the same for however much you borrow. I feel more secure, safe & protecting borrowing money this way rather than other routes which can be so expensive. So please if you need money quickly take the Salary Finance route you will thank me.
