After pointing out the legal…

After pointing out the legal implications of discrimination when refusing service based on gender the site has removed my ability to comment.

The final proof that the industry is discriminatory.

Excellent support from industry colleagues

Excellent site for qualified hairdressers to ask questions and share best practices. Lots of support for salon owners and staff to help build their business.
People wanting diy help to box dye their hair will quite rightly, get shown the door.

The site is biased

The site is biased. Its a fishing net used by the "Sweet" brother and sister to promote CND products. Tread carefully on this website as most users are drinking the koolaid because they get benefits.

A fantastic resource for professionals to come together

A high degree of professionalism on this site. A wonderful resource for pro discussions and advice on Hair and Beauty.
There's a strong feeling on Salongeek (and rightly) that professional people (i.e. Fully trained and qualified) should be using professional and approved products to provide a service and not try to cut corners or use cheap knock off products from certain widely available selling sites (you know the ones!) and that professionalism is at times misinterpreted and attracts negative comments.

I have to agree with the other opinions …

I have to agree with the other opinions on here. I dared to disagree on the forum that the new CND all singing and dancing UV Lamp was really no different to many other decent quality (much cheaper) lamps out there. Oh my word!! by the end of a month of mud slinging I was called (amongst other things) a "troll" This was all for having an opinion......I wasn't aware this was a hanging offence. If you are a Stepford wife you'll do just fine!

Clicky, egotistical admins

Don't even bother registering.
Unless you're promoting one of their products / 'silent' sponsors, you'll get shut down quickly.

Everything that's bad and bitchy about the hairdressing industry, but online. Keyboard warrior central.

Sign up if you dare!

You get shot down for voicing an opinion if you dare go against the crowd. You find all topics go full circle back to promoting CND. The ex distributor of CND that happens to me the Mother of the current distributor shamelessly promotes CND at every possible opportunity.

A completely biased site with a pretty much daily argument about something. If you're new to the industry or sensitive beware otherwise you'll be put off for life!

Shark Infested waters

This site is a place to go for independent advice as a beauty therapist or trainee. The Moderators claim to be 'Experts' and 'Salon Owners' themselves, yet I question an industry expert that is so busy with clients they can sit on a forum all day moderating threads.

Sales reps and company owners jump on your thread to push one of the few brands allowed to be mentioned on the site, such as Creative, Tantrick and Nouvatan. Mention anything else and you will be shot down in flames. Ask your self this? If a company is doing so well, again why would they have the time to sit on a forum all day, if not to poach unsuspecting newbies into the industry.

Very very 'Clicky' if you do not fit it, do not expect to get an easy time on here. Question whether you trust the advice off someone with time on their hands to write on a forum all day long. If they cannot keep their business busy, trust me they can not and will not be able to help you!

If however you love Samuel Sweet and Samantha Sweet (married/sisterly incest really cannot work it out) who crave a fan base and idolisation this site promotes for them then you will love the site as much as the rest of the brown nosers.
