Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 218 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently complain about unhelpful customer support, reporting extremely long hold times, abrupt disconnections, and major difficulties resolving basic account issues either online or over the phone. Shoppers also highlight frustrating delivery problems, missing or damaged items upon arrival, and unprofessional staff members who completely lack proper training or willingness to help inside physical stores. Some reviewers were happy with exceptionally helpful employees who provided friendly and efficient assistance during their store visits. Others appreciated dedicated specialists who offered professional guidance, polite customer service, and genuine care when addressing specific consumer needs.

AVOID THIS STORE ‼️ ‼️

04/06/26: New car battery installed.

A little less than a month and a half later, I get a dashboard warning cascade (lane departure, braking, power steering and so on). Popped the hood and discovered the battery was loose from negligent installation.

I returned to Sam's Club. I parked in front of the garage and was intercepted by a proactive tech before I could make my way inside the store. He was shown the issue, went to grab tools and came back to the parking area to tighten it down. Warnings temporarily cleared only to return on my way back home.

Because I wanted to give Sam's Club the benefit of the doubt, I took my Honda to a car audio shop, spent $60 on a diagnostic test to rule out parasitic drain from my aftermarket amp. No such thing was found. I made the decision to keep the amp physically disconnected for 36 hours and - lo and behold - warnings returned. Amp is not the problem.

I was back at Sam's Club today for a warranty replacement. A new battery was installed but warnings returned immediately upon starting the vehicle. Their initial negligent installation (loose battery for 5+ weeks) likely caused permanent damage to my vehicle's electrical system.

The absolute ape who returned my car and keys was combative and argumentative during the exchange. He claimed, in a mocking fashion, repeatedly, that the battery is not the issue. He kept talking over me and wouldn't let me get a word in, insisting that his community college education allowed him to be certain of his correctness on the matter.

Avoid this location. They don't secure batteries properly and their negligence may have destroyed my car's electronics. I have escalated the matter by bringing it to Sam's Club Corporate and will continue to escalate beyond that if and as necessary.

First time in store

First time in store. Lima Ohio. Thought I would try it out bc they offered a military discount. I was told I would get 10$ off membership fee so I paid and asked when I get discount, was told off my first transaction then was told they cant do that they will just give me a 10$ gift card then the manager came over and said they cant do that either. The military discount can only apply if you do it online. I asked if I can just get my money back that I paid just 2 minutes earlier and said they cant do that either so I asked for some scissors and cut my card up and threw it in their trash can. Horrible horrible first experience. If they want to look all patriotic and advertise military discount then not have their crap together shame on them.

Sam’s scam and horrible management

I used scan and go and was charged TWICE . TWICE the price for the one single item. The attitude of the staff, the lack of empathy, the lack of accountability was astonishing from management. Before I walked out the door the first time, I showed staff that I had paid. Showed them the email from sams and the credit card bill because their QR code didn’t show up. They required that I pay again assuring me that I would get a refund if double charged. I just needed to call if there were issues. I called and the required that I drive all the way back to the store for the refund. I should have at that point filed fraud charges with the credit card company and the police.

Lazy liars.

Customer service manager deleted my account of 20 years. I lost my purchase history (including appliances and items I send to my elderly mom's facility) as well as my Sam's cash, payment methods... everything. They refuse to make any effort to restore my account. I asked very specifically how the change they wanted to make would affect my account when I would log back in and was told it wouldn't change it in any way. He didn't care, anything to close a case.

Not a good selection on items

Not a good selection on items. Always have over 50 employees working.
Only one register open. Line be literally in Mexico. Doesn’t make any sense at all. Sometimes no register is open. Then the customer service line. Be longer than Mexico. Clearly our cash does matter. Very backwards and unprofessional. Cashier didn’t even speak. Without customers they wouldn’t. Have no job at all. Most of the employees are very friendly though. On West Broad St. location.

Retail Business 101

Let me first say Sam's Club as a corporation is excellent with their stores and my complaint would be towards the manager of my Sam's Club store. We only eat sour dough bread. Sam's bakery makes excellent sour dough bread, but for whatever reason my Sam's Club is generally out of stock. Business 101, if you are continuing to run out of stock.... make more, the Sam's Club corporation will love you. This has been like this for more than a year

DON'T BUY TIRES AT SAMS CLUB, YOU'LL REGRET IT!

Bought Tires, Big Mistake, Had to rescheule install 3 times. My wife had an inspection coming up and needed tires, went on Sams club bought 4 tires and got an install date in 2 days, which was perfect because it was before her inspection.

The day of the install they call her and say, dont come we dont have the tires. Over a week went by and I finally got a call from a person who said we can get tires there but you have to pay for them, I said why I already paid online. He goes ok, no problem youre right.

My wife was overdue now for her inspection as it had been 2 weeks. We go get the tires installed and I let my wife out to pick up the car, 2 seconds later she calls me, we have to pay again. I go in confused, said I already paid and wont pay again, I'm told then youre not getting your keys and a guy puts my our keys in his pocket and walks away. It then escalates and some other people in the store come over, show us your sams club card which I do and it shows I already paid, but they say because of inventory that I have to pay again and get a credit later. This was a nightmare. Oh, originally when my wife went in the guy who took the keys said he checked online and that I didnt pay. I was not confident about the credit but I needed the car back and I paid again. Now i'm out of over $1,000 unless they give me a credit, which occured. The tires are good, but not worth the drama we went through.

Ran into a problem tonight.

Ran into a problem tonight.. I bought 2 different bags of chips and the cashier scanned the same one twice… accidents happen.. but when I was leaving the store a worker named Jayden stopped me and scanned my items and loudly said you didn’t pay for these.. I explained to him it wasn’t my doing .. I had gone through a line with a cashier.. he then took my bag of chips out of my cart and told me if I wanted them I’d have to pay for them.. several people were there and honestly it was very embarrassing… my wife and I walked out and looked at the receipt and seen where the mistake was made. I came back in and explained to Jayden what had happened.. he took his had and waved towards the service counter and told me I’d have to take it up there..

I went to the service desk and explained the problem and the nicest woman working there help me. I then asked to speak to a manager because I didn’t like the way things were handled , before I got to the service desk.

Big surprise.. no managers were available to help me.

A surprising new LET DOWN after the sale...

While I appreciate their product availability and pricing, Sam's Club seems to have FORGOTTEN about customer service. I visited Costco on Friday and Sams Club on Saturday...what I encountered with Sam's Club was a lack of responsibility for customer needs. One BIG concern came when I checked out and attempted to get box tops or boxes to organize my purchases and get them into my cart and then into my car. I have always had the option to use boxes stacked by the registers or outside the exit doors in large bins. Apparently Sam's Club has stopped offering ANY BOXES OR CONTAINERS. I spoke with an employee at the exit and then addressed the concern at the Membership Counter with their Manager on Duty (Cora) her response "Sam's Club wants to BE GREENER"...but only at the expense of customer service. My opinion is...they get MORE MONEY when they recycle ALL OF THEIR PACKAGING...despite the fact that customers use the box tops and they recycle them at home...that's not something Sam's Club even asked consumers before they TOOK AWAY the option. I will followup with Sam's Club online "ClubFeedback" but I believe other customers should provide their opinion on how Sam's Club is handling this issue.

Sam's has Sunk

First of all, I used to love Sam's. Then they "upgraded" their Premium Membership, about 2 years ago, maybe 3? Ironically, Sam's delivery and online website has continued to tank and tank and tank. TBH they're so far in the hole, IDK how they'll get out. That being said, I got a jump on Mother's Day, or so I thought, by ordering 18 stems with vase of Pink Roses, my mom's absolute favorite, on 4/30/26 to be delivered on Fri 5/8/26. I received a text on Fri saying they were shipped and then another shortly after saying they were on their way, before 11am. I kept waiting for a text msg saying they were delivered. Needless to say, I'm still waiting for that text, 5/9/26 12:18pm and counting. Unfortunately, showing up at her door carrying them myself wasn't an option. I did call the 888# today around 9am and was greeted by a Very Snarky AI agent. Who knew they were snarky? Oh well, talking to myself would've yielded much better answers. Not to mention, I was left questioning--why did it keep dodging my statement to speak to a real human being? Is AI being programmed to make us go through them even though they're not helpful in the least?
I'll end by saying AI is only good for a great circle-jerk conversation on how you should and shouldn't speak to Them🙄

I ordered a shed from Sams

I ordered a shed from Sams. It asks what day you would like it delivered. I had it scheduled on a Thursday for delivery so I could set it up for the weekend. No delivery, Friday I contact the shipping company (EFW) and they said it would be Monday delivery. I had ordered it a week prior so they had planty of time to ship and deliver. Absolutely terrible!!

I did a curbside pick up yesterday and…

I did a curbside pick up yesterday and it was a NIGHTMARE! I got to Sam's and apparently they have changed where curbside pick up is located. It was the front of the building and now it is on the side of the building. But yet the front of the building still has parking spaces clearly marked "PICK UP ONLY". No notice regarding this when I ordered, nor when the order was confirmed nor when I checked in that I had arrived- right on time as I had scheduled. I waited for 15-20 minutes with zero communication. Then received an email saying thank you for your pick up when I was parked and STILL WAITING!!! It was pouring down rain outside and I had my dog in the vehicle with me. I locked the car went in only to find two employees behind the customer service counter teasing and joking around with each other- maybe a ridiculous attempt at flirting. Once I got one of their attention and explained what was going on they proceeded to blame each other for not taking the order out. Literally saying to me "it was his turn" "no, it was her turn", etc. Once I got them to stop blaming each other like children, the young man took me to the area where my groceries were sitting. No ID was required- I could have been stealing other people's groceries for all he cared. He explained to me it was his co-workers turn to run my items out. That it wasn't his problem (his words). He said that everything had shifted from curbside being in the front to the side of the building- this is the first I am hearing of it. When I asked if customers had been notified he shrugged. I then asked why the parking spaces still said "PICK UP ONLY" he said the managers didn't want to pay to have the spots painted over. I asked if I hadn't come in would they have just let me sit out there until close and he shrugged with a "I don't think so".
It was very obvious neither one of these employees cared what was happening. It was raining and they didn't want to go outside. Shame on the laziness and lack of communication that starts at the top of the food chain and dribbles down. If the Supervisors don't care why should the rest of the employees was the attitude that was very apparent. If I was able I would have rated this negative stars.

Christina B at Cedar Rapids North

We were in the Cedar Rapids, IA Sams building shopping for a school event. Christina B at the register was very rude to us not having the school district tax-exempt membership card. In the past, using the school debit card we had not needed the membership because it was automatically issued. While Christina did clarify we needed the tax exempt she was disrespectful to our school advisor. She also had changed her tone and body language seeing is High School students with one adult. We went to guest service to see if we could purchase these at the time and because of district conflict we couldn’t. This being said the guest service employee was very kind. Christina B then came over and told us that we needed to change the membership card so we wouldn’t cause another conflict. We usually enjoy going to Sams especially for school events, but this was not a good experience causing us to go to another store. Her guest service was awful, and her tone had caused our attitudes to be affected towards Sams

I am a black woman that recently…

I am a black woman that recently purchased a four set of tires from Sam's tire and battery. A warranty was purchased with those tires. The first Issue arose when I got a nail in my front driver side tire , I revisited Sam's to have repaired, they said the nail was in a place that they said they would have to prorate And charge me to replace it with a new tire. I was informed that the set I recently purchased they no longer sell anymore. So they ordered a mix match brand that I do not like, but I agreed to because that was my only choice given. I Revisited the store had the front driver side tire replaced with a different brand from the original set. I purchased. I have four tires that had no airs leaks.

In a short amount of time I get a nail in my back driver side tire when visiting the store this time the Nail was in the same place and I have a pictures to document all these facts it, but they said t this tire can be patched. I left my car with Sam's for two days for them to patch it to be called to pick up car only to return to a flat tire when I picked up my car. I thought maybe they just forgot to put air back in the patch tire so I had the gentleman to put air in the tires and I left. It was flat again the next , and the tire continued to leak air when I return to have them to look at it, they said it's because my rim is cracked and the salesman badger me about going to a mom's and pops. I informed him that I was recording him while he badgered me to leave that place without honoring my warranty and go to a mom's and pops. I left there with me and my two children with a flat tire and I purchased them from Sam's with a warranty that they will not help me with. Can someone please contact me 706-589-5551 . I do not want this to escalate to a legal matter. I just want my tires fixed.

10✨️ Service!

I went into Sam's after purchasing new membership on line to get card to use for gas purchase. My husband and l, are honorable US Veterans. After a short wait we were greeted by Jackie at Customer Service. She asked for our ID and created our new Sam's card. Our mistake was going shopping on empty stomachs. When it came time to check-out we met Arielle. She told us to come to her lane, she'd check us out. Not only fast, almost $200. In sales, Arielle kept her smile as she scanned our items. Another smile and told us to have a good afternoon. Wow! Not only Gods' Favor to find a handicap parking, the shopping cart for my husband was charged; and we had 2 great people working in Sam's,"back-to-back!" Both were being nice and only doing their jobs, Sam's come a long way for good customer service. We, Thank you ladies!! This was our best shopping for anything/where in a long time! Jackie and Arielle are 10 🌟 's, a Bag of Pita Chips with Texas Sauce!! They Rock!! Sam's better hold onto them! You have two great employees! Have a great week ladies! You've added joy to ours!

Respectfully,
