I was all set for giving them a great review until I returned the rental moped I got from these people.
My initial rental was for 3 days. I did everything at the shop as I was unable to reach them by phone after several attempts. I was guided through the process. I paid first for the actual rental and then the security deposit of 300 was taken separately and I was given an iPad which had a box ready for my signature as the rental agreement.
The day before the moped was due for return I received an email from them asking me to pay £153. On initial glance there didn't appear to be a specific reason for the request however delving in I discovered this is their tactic in getting customers to extend their renta for a weekl. I didn't like that, something I vocalised when I spoke with them the next day and was told the system automatically generates it.
Fast forward a couple of extensions I return the moped after 9 days, moped gets looked over and all was fine until I was told I would get my security deposit back after 1 month! They cite the reason as in case of any traffic violations coming through in that time. They also told me it was very clear in the terms and conditions - one I wasn't told to look through at any point and a point that could have easily been verbally given to me since all was done in shop.
As one who has hired from practically all rental companies in the UK I was appauled by this. No other vehicle rental company has this insane policy as it is wholly unnecessary! If a traffic violation is received, the rental company will just provide whichever authority with the drivers details who was in possession of the vehicle at the time, take their admin fee from the card the driver has registered with them and job done they are free of any financial responsibility so what business do they have holding onto my money for an ENTIRE MONTH? Had I been made aware they did this before the commencement of the rental there wouldn't have been one to commence as I would have told them they can keep their mopeds. They deliberately neglected to tell me this. Bad form
Taking the time to read through their LONG terms and conditions there were a few other bits that made no sense as to why they were included and I explore people to read it before they take anything from these people. It might rob you of half hour of your time but at least they won't be able to rob you of your cash at a later date.
These people should be ashamed!
