INCOMPETENT BULLIES
I've always been wary of/unimpressed by the SSPCA and after the way they have treated a good friend of mine I now have nothing but contempt for them. During COVID and whilst my pal actually had covid there was an incident from which they and their child were lucky to escape unhurt/alive. Distressingly a number of animals did die. The conduct of the so called inspector was most unprofessional, there were lies, over reach of powers and inadequate investigation. It seems that they thought my friend, who has a number of health/personal issues would just roll over and give them an easy win. Fortunately this friend is made of sterner stuff and has a good support network. Plus we had contacts and secured the services of a legal aid solicitor with experience defending against the SSPCA. After a number of very stressful months their prosecution case was dropped by the PF due to the case being poor: their evidence was conflicting amongst other things They were not worthy of the title inspector as this gives the impression that they have adequate training, intelligence, integrity and authority when in a lot of cases it would seem they don't. I know that real Inspectors (Police & others) have to have a degree to apply, pass a rigourous selection process, gain a post grad diploma, have a lot of in house training & supervision, a fair amount of legal trainng and pass a 2 year probation. I would argue that their applicants for jobs are well meaning but on the whole less well educated, that the selection criteria inadequate/lacking and that their training especially re the law leaves a lot to be desired. That is not to say that a person with few formal qualifications could not be trained to do the job properly. The Police have standards they are supposed to meet and a regulator to make sure they do. Who performs that role for the SSPCA, where are their standards? It is a sad state of affairs that I do not feel it is safe, for my friend, for me to give more specifics of all that happened. I am genuinely fearful that the SSPCA will be vindictive towards them and target them, ie continue the bullying.
Unsympathetic and interested call operator
I needed advice and support on rehoming my lovely dog due to behaviour issues. I was upset and crying. I phoned the helpline for advice and support. The man that answered the phone was horrible his manner was sharp and he even said I don't know what advice you are looking for. He said all the shelters were full and ended the call. He sounded as if I was being a pest. He made what is a horrible experience 20 times worse. I have just called dogs trust and they were brilliant the exact opposite.
My daughter lives galasheils
My daughter lives galasheils. Shes reported seeing stray cats round her area. Now two have got injuries. She phoned these again. They told her not to feed them. Now this is neglect. Call yourselves animal lovers. I think youre disgusting. Shouldnt be allowed to work with animals. I have 3 cats. All well fed and loved. If i didnt feed those what would you do. Take me to court thats what 😡😡😡😡
Been constantly bullied by sspca staff
Been constantly bullied by sspca staff, because I have a problem with a member of staff the officers name is e j budge a volunteer who has animals herself and who's own animals are in dire straits, very rude and despicable member of staff who parades herself on face book with animal skins and skulls, her pigs keep escaping, she think shes a police officer and lie all the time. I'm not afraid to give my name and many people on here on this island are prepared to club together and bring a private prosecution against them for victimisation if need be.
Sspca
After reading ex employees reviews on the sspca on indeed.com.most complaints was made in relation to the bullying that goes on at the balerno branch so I can only state that some of thier inspectors don’t stop the bullying at the centre . I had the experience of meeting one of the balerno based inspectors and experienced her bullying first hand and I was taken away by ambulance .
Whilst I was at the hospital they took my horse as he supposed to need expert sspca care ? Another horse who went as a companion sspca verified as none case horse in court papers
The horses never entered sspca care at all they was driven to a riding centre owned by an inspectors mum on the 2nd may 2012 and on the 5th of June the case horse was found dead after dying overnight in the field , I owned this horse for 15 years the sspca had him 4 weeks 3 days and he dies ,
Did the sspca notify me of his death no they even went as far as telling me in phone calls he’s fine even after my horse was dead the sspca LIE
The sspca then waited a further 9 days after horse dies in thier care and submitted papers to the court so I would be prosecuted based on what the sspca and thier vet wrote
Thier vet report was written on the 15th july by the vet that is the seizing inspectors own vet so bear in mind horse was seized on the 2nd may died on the 5th June the post Mortom papers dated 6th June stated horse was a good weight yet the sspca vet stated emaciated the sspca refused to give me any paperwork in relation to my horse they refused to give the vets permission to give me paperwork now this is a charity what could they have to hide ? The fact that they illegally took my horse failed in thier own duty of care to my horse resulting in him dying they refuse to answer any questions one sspca inspector who drove my horses away was actually stated as being a none witness ? The none case horse lost a lot of weight in sspca so called care and they asked me to sign her over to the sspca ? I refused and I rehomed her to the home I chose not the sspca but it appears in the press release written by the sspca it was worded as if the sspca rehomed her and the picture they released of that horse shows a very thin horse now this horse was a none case horse so did the sspca fail in the duty of care to her you bet that they did .
The charity has seriously lost its way it’s no longer the great charity it was first set out to be nowadays it’s more target driven some staff use thier uniforms for thier own personnel gains and horses seized end up at the riding centre the sspca are not intrested in complaints everything is done in-house there’s no transparency no monitering
The charity needs to get rid of its bad apples and reform back to the charity it used to be
