I signed up for Open Water certificate at Sea Bees in Khao Lak. Beforehand I talked to a lot other diving places in the area but I felt most comfortable and safe with choosing Sea Bees. I got the most amazing instructor, Melanie (Melly), she shows high level of professionalism, manage to teach in a good and interesting way. I am definitely satisfied with my journey towards getting the diving certificate. I can recommend this for anyone else.
The difference between Good, Really Good and Really Great:
- The Good dive centre staff will help you with minor kit replacements, be all-around nice and competent people and make sure everyone is enjoying good safe diving.
- The Really Good dive centre staff would also help perform service on a piece kit that had failed catastrophically despite being recently serviced.
- The Really Great dive centre will do all of that too, but would also say "Just go catch your flight, we'll sort it out afterwards", when a diver needs to leave very suddenly due to a death in their closest family.
This is what happened to me. I had to leave halfway through a 10 days diving vacation and had kit scattered in three locations, an unsettled bill and a promise from Sea Bees that we would get matters sorted out in due time. They even offered to ship my kit internationally for me.
I was eventually able to settle up everything before my flight, but with everything going on in a very short amount of time, I would like to draw attention to the level of empathy being shown here that allowed me to manage to keep everything together.
I had taken my original Open Water certification with them a few years back. I returned in July 2019 with over 100 dives to my name.
I wholeheartedly recommend Sea Bees for both first-time student divers and experienced divers alike.
I could not tell you how their prices are compared to other Phuket dive centres, but I can assure you that their display of quality, safety and human kindness makes Sea Bees the first and foremost dive centre for any future visits to Phuket.
