An Excellent Hotel
A beautiful hotel in a very convenient location. I stayed there with my husband for four nights in March 2026. We stayed in the River View Balcony Suite with great views of the river Thames. The room was spotless, the staff friendly, especially Jairo who was extremely helpful and made our stay extra special. The amenities in the hotel were superb. We enjoy travelling to London and have stayed in some lovely hotels, but Sea Containers will be our go to hotel for all future visits.
Evening Meal at Sea…
We had a wonderful evening meal at Sea Containers. The food was delicious and the portions very generous. Doma was extremely attentive and helpful- thank you.
Wonderful hotel
Wonderful hotel, cool vibes and great friendly staff
Went for my birthday this weekend hotel…
Went for my birthday this weekend hotel was lovely , bed was very comfortable and food was great , we were greeted by Mitchell who was absolutely lovely , so welcoming and went out of his way to be accommodating.
Nice but expensive weekend ruined by a £145 overcharge
Took my partner here for a treat. went into London for a show & we saw Jamie Cullum at the Royal Festival Hall as part of London Jazz Week. All good.
Buffet breakfrast was okay, bacon was just strips of fat, so inedible in my eyes. Everything else, including the service was very good though.
So on the day of check out, they said they'd email me my invoice & as I knew what we were due to be charged I said that was okay.
But once home I noticed they'd overcharged me by £145. Some mix up over charging again for breakfast. I had to send them 2/3 emails before getting a response later in the week. They owned up and have since credited me BUT I do wonder how many people get overcharged like this and don't notice?
For me, this was a very expensive hotel to stay at & while all the communal areas are quite fancy the rooms are just okay but nothing that special. The Thames view was nice but that costs extra.
What a shame that whoever manages bookings doesn't actually check how we're going to be billed on departure. I hate being diddled out of money. They charge more than enough without this extra charge. There's also a 5% service charge on everything, maybe more in the bar, however you should see how rich the owners of this hotel are.
A bit disappointed
My family and I stopped at the Sea containers hotel early August 2024 to celebrate my sons 4th Birthday. We've stopped at the hotel a numbers of times in the past; during our first stay (nearly five years ago) we found out we were expecting our now 4 year old so we have a fondness for the hotel.
Everything was great as it always is when we stay. The only reason I have rated the stay 3 out of 5 is because when I initially booked the stay (months before), I was told they would do a little surprise for my son as it was a special occasion. A couple of weeks before our stay I rang the hotel as I hadn't received any confirmation and after a few phones calls back and forward I spoke to the manager who again promised me they would do something nice for my son's Birthday. I wasn't expecting much, maybe just a couple of balloons in the room, so as we arrived I filmed as we opened the door but there was nothing extra, no special something, no balloons, nothing.
I hadn't requested or asked for anything special, it was offered by two different people on two separate occasions when I explained the reason for our stay. This is an expensive hotel and you do get what you pay for as the standards throughout are exceptionally high, that's exactly the reason we were so disappointed that they failed to fulfil their promise and the fact that this ended up disappointing our 4 year old.

Not my best stay this time
Not my best stay this time. Had to queue twice for check in because the first time my keycards hadn’t been activated properly so was unable to use the lift. Got a curt ‘you’re going to have to bear with us’ when I attempted to avoid queueing a second time. Surprised that there was no where to grab a quick drink and bite after dropping bags at room, restaurant weren’t taking walk ins and bars weren’t open until 5pm. In my experience prebooking is essential, not what you expect when you’re staying in a hotel. Not a great start to the birthday celebrations.
Great ongoing service. Recommended.
Handled a delicate situation with real care and politeness worthy of earning 5*
The food was delightful.
Highly recommend.
Great spot for a drink with a view
Visited here twice now and both times have been enjoyable. Drinks and food both really good. Service is a tad slow but staff are friendly and helpful.

Had one of the best birthdays ever here, the staff were great and accommodating and the cocktails got me drunk.
Sea Containers need to up their customer care
The restaurant: our main was placed on the table while we were still eating our starter. A member of our group complained that the sauce did not taste of peppercorn sauce; the waitress then started to argue, eventually took back to kitchen and replaced with exactly the same sauce adding a couple of peppercorns. Had to keep asking the waitress to pour our wine, ended up getting the wine from the bucket placed a few tables away ourselves. Really not up to the standard that one would expect for the cost involved.
Sea Containers Restaurant (Private Dining) - Excellent!
We booked private dining for my husband’s 40th birthday on 24th June at the Sea Containers Restaurant. It was absolutely amazing!!! We couldn’t have asked for better. Communication from the beginning (Indre & Melissa) excellent.
Service when we arrive - outstanding. Dimitris, is an asset to sea containers. He went above and beyond throughout the evening. So did all the other staff who served us.
The food was delicious. All of our guests commented how fantastic it was.
Thank you Sea Containers for making our experience memorable and thank you for making my husband’s birthday a special one.
Time Out offer - disappointing
Time Out offer - disappointing and not really value for money. Cons: it’s not the top floor restaurant with the nice views of the river. It’s actually the ground floor, and feels a bit claustrophobic and dark with no views of the river
The service is ropey. This starts at the door where we were pointed the direction by security, this is followed by the maitre d who was frazzled to say the least. I was confused about where our reservation. She didn’t check and sent us on a wild goose chase which was really unprofessional. Eventually Someone took us to our table but I had called ahead to say it was a special occasion and requested a river view. This wasn’t accommodated.
The servers did their best but it was a bit comical at times - more plates coming our way instead of other tables.
Alcohol and bottles of wine are expensive.
Pros: food was actually good and there was enough of it. The one Cocktail which came with the deal was nice too but additional ones and wine are expensive.
I was disappointed - I think there are better places to eat in London for this price. A nice view may have made it special but it feels like sea containers are out to make money fast rather than deliver a quality experience- the service and drinks offer let it down.
I wouldn’t go again and wouldn’t recommend bringing someone here for a special occasion as it fell flat sadly
would put 0 stars if i could
would put 0 stars if i could. avoid like the plaugue.. like a plaugue of locusts they will take everything you have and give nothing but misery in return. spit my old fashioned out. drinking it was like bathing my mouth in battery acid. the most horrible service ever. once again avoid unless your like your pockets empty and your pallet underwhelmed
Absolutely the worst night of our…
Absolutely the worst night of our lives. The bar was awful and snobbish. The most terrible cocktails which were ridiculously overpriced. The Manhattan was undrinkable. Zero ambience and overpriced and pretentious drinks and service. Avoid unless you want to partake in the most boring and expensive night of your life.
This should be a lovely hotel - just does not meet London standards
This should be a lovely hotel, it’s decor is cool, it’s in a great situation but it’s just severely lacking in service and class. The reason it’s affordable is because it cannot stand muster with quality hotels. Staying with 2 adults and a child we were given 2 towels. On a room clean toiletries were not replenished. The empty bar fridge, not their fault it was empty, Covid standards, but it could not chill anything it was luke warm at best. Window of river suite had hand prints all over it, staff really not friendly at bar and restaurant when trying to get a drink whilst waiting for room post advertised 3pm check in.
Room itself was lovely, view amazing - either aircon or bathroom vents, could not work out which, were so noisy kept waking us up. Given everything bar, gym, sauna closed, with only rooms and restaurants that we used - disappointed we used first time last lock down release, this was our second and last time. This hotel is more interested in passing restaurant business then guests - understandable as they have had no guests and have an outside but beware service is limited and staff a bit rude other than the main man in front desk who is awesome
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Upon arrival at check in was made to feel stupid as we had not downloaded the App and had to check in the “Old fashioned way”
Once we had checked in we then went to our room which was nice. But strangely had no Tea or Coffee making facilities.
After a great day on London we returned to the hotel. We entered the bar area and asked to if there were any tables left to have a few drinks. The hostess was quite rude and said abruptly that there was no tables left. But we could see several seats empty. She then told us to try later. After a lovely drink elsewhere we came back an hour later. Where again were told there were no seats in the bar. And to sit in the guest area and use the App to buy drinks. After 20 mins of ordering on the App. We then realized we would be charged room service rates for the “delivery” of the drinks. We decided to call it a night and asked reception why there were empty tables but we could not get a drink. We were rudely told he did not work in the Bar so how would he know.
Would not recommend staying at this hotel. Usually stay at the Waldorf. But this was recommended by a friend. Customer service is shocking. I’m sure we pay for a service but at times felt like they were working here. Not guests.
