Real sex offenders involved.

A friend of mine invated me to play this game somewhere in the autumn of 2007. It scared the hell out of me.
As teenager in the mid 90s I got brutally raped by a guy that I thought to be a friend. Since that day suffer severe mental damage and my life got ruined. He was completely brutal and I was virgin.
I knew he had a art education and I kind of recognized his style in the game. It frightened me.
Later on I realised this guy actually moved to England and was working for Second Life. So he was really involved in this game.
While the mental damage turned me from an A student to somebody who could not cope with college and left me lifelong and social welfare, he just lied when I pressed charges and got away. He had his dream job.
I know the UK office he worked for got closed, but this person is pure evil and everything that involves him is.
People behind this game have ruined lives for real. I can tell. I quit playing as soon as I saw the graphics that made me shellshock. Now I am glad I did not spend any money on the man that ruined my life.

People tend to complain that this game…

People tend to complain that this game is all about sex and other adult content. This game is very much focused on kidnapping, rape, torture, murder, consuming other people and gambling...but if you play as a child who wants nothing to do with sex and always follow the ToS, you ~will~ be targeted, you ~will~ be banned, you ~will~ have all products you made to support the community and all of your money stolen by Linden Labs and your appeals will fall on deaf ears.

In summary, Linden Labs has made this game only focused on adult content and sex because PG child avatars are constantly harassed and removed by the game for whatever BS reason they can think of in their ToS filled with grey areas and contradictions.

Stay away from Second Life and anything Linden Labs is connected to...they are ~not~ to be trusted.

Pulling my hair out to try to renew a password for days after switching computers and losing the PW. Has taken 3 days to get a response and a "promise" of help coming any minute...that was 48 hours ago and I must ask a RL friend in SL to cancel all my music shows booked weekly. So at 11th hour I was helped so all is well but would request faster response in future.

Had an account that is from 2006 and never had an issue, Had many accounts with no issue, out of the blue was Terminated, Adult game and their terminology is the only correct one. Should Hire a lawyer To get all my money back !!!!!! Nice to know other people have this same issue !! IT IS AN ADULT GAME, People are adults to even play in this world .Then other people buy babies and toddlers and teen avatars which is a form of Age play and they do not get terminated however others do with false judgment .Really do not see the future holding up for them at all. They snoop on your private land with Ban lines and complete privacy and give absolutely no proof just a ridiculous termination - e- mail with no real customer service ,

The prices are often too high for pieces who are not worth the money. The lady who works there treats you in a rude way if you don’t buy anything, but when you buy something she’s nice. She even tell you 30 minutes before the closure of the shop that you can’t come in because it’s closed. If this shop had another employee it would work way more. Maybe someone younger and nicer?

Please use all remedies to ban Second Life

Please use all remedies to ban Second Life. The administrators abused without any reason. They blocked the accounts of many players over 10-12 years old in this game and embezzled all their money in this fraudulent way. How long can you tolerate the Second Life theft from Linden Lab?

For your sanity and wallet, do not play SL.

I was on it 12 years...It used to be wonderful. I cherish the friends etc I made. I decided to go premium 3 weeks ago, and all of the sudden I get banned(yesterday). Age play they say... I NEVER had a child avi, EVER. I am very childlike in personality but I am 39 years old RL! I made that clear on my 1st tab rl info there. They terminated me without any warning, stole my lindens(close to 20 000L), and my money from premium membership. I tried to have a civilized conversation with them, but they refused to be cooperative all the while stealing my money. I filed a dispute on paypal to get refunded for the premium membership thing...A partial refund for the remaining 11 months I was entitled to. They are thieves who play the "morality" game, but have no issue taking money that belonged to me. Apparently, I cannot have my fetishes, my own desires which were 100% consenting between 2 adults RL. I cannot be ME. This is wrong on so many levels! I strongly advise against playing SL, especially spending any money. Don't give them a dime! 0 stars if it wasn't for the good friends I had there.

Second Life is nice BUT

Second Life is a nice world where to hang out but sadly support is bad, I had a misunderstanding with someone and they deleted my account, I ask them for an agreement but they continuing for all the times to send me the same message like I was a idiot that can't read it, so, is a funny way to pass time but if you spend money be sure to don't wrong anything and break the rules cause they will not give you second chances, and they treat you like s**t if you try to make them understand what's happen, that's all, and that's why I gave them just 1 star sadly. They have to hear their users MORE and not just treat them like id**ts and show some HEART sometimes!

Horrible game

Horrible game, Stole my 175$ right out of my bank account. Refuses to give it back. I have played SL for 7 years and I do not intend to play any longer. Took me 3 years to get my rental popular and now it's all for nothing. These people are crooks.

I have been on Second Life for 14 years…

I have been on Second Life for 14 years now, and it has its positives and negatives. Sadly there are more negatives. Before we go into the positive and negatives, it is crucial to understand that Second Life at a basic level is a good idea and it was revolutionary for its time. However, it is down to bad apples within the Second Life community who ruin its reputation.

In its early years, it became a safe haven for sexual predators, and this drove many businesses away from the platform and they never returned. This had included media corporations and colleges and universities.

Positives
- Meet great people and if they are the right people, you could make new friends for life.
- Learn languages
- Learn new skills like graphic design, fashion, broadcasting, retail.
- Creating anything your imagination allows

Negatives
- There are a lot of toxic people on Second Life whether they be trolls/ griefers, politically poisonous, racist, homophobic, xenophobic. I have come across conspiracy theorists trying to groom people into their warped views of the world, and more so lately with covid-19.
- Sexual harassment is commonplace no matter what you are doing or where you are. Sometimes, if you refuse someone trying to attract you, they can turn abusive in a heartbeat. Rape is a problem on here too, and I am not sure if it is taken as seriously as it should.
- Unsolicited contact is also very common whether it be friend requests from random people who aren't on the same sim or IMs from people wanting things relating to sexual content.
- Second Life is very driven towards adult content and it is very tiring when you want nothing to do with it. Everything turns into sex at any moment, and it is as if people can't last 2 minutes without it.
- Catfishing is problematic. My best advice is to be wary of who might be behind a female avatar. There is a good chance it is controlled by a real-life male, and they can and will manipulate others for money, gifts, and control. There might also be the talk of real-life encounters with such a person, and they might present a photo that is not really of them. I have come across this before, and 9/10, the person has found a picture of an adult film star, and claim that the person in the photo is who they are.
- Scams are endemic in Second Life and they usually target shoppers within-group IMs with a dodgy link to hijack someone's account. Thankfully, most people are aware of this scam, and as soon as it appears, people will say "DO NOT CLICK THAT!".
- Fraud comes in many forms in Second Life, but I would say the most common will involve false allegations against others.

For best protection...
- Submit payment information to Linden Labs! This process requires you to send a real-life photo ID, and it is the best way to protect yourself against false accusations. It also allows you to sell L$ in exchange to a Paypal account.

Real information was hacked

I'd give this site 0 stars if I could. The game has no security whatsoever and it's to the point where people are making illegal organisation on that site.
This happened many years ago, I was in-game and a user managed to somehow find my home address and my phone number, and threatened to kill me. Never pressed any link, wasn't even active in-game but yet somehow a user managed to find my details. I know it wasn't my fault because I never spoken to anyone on the game.
This game is full of pedophiles, rapists, terrorists too. I remember there would be so many terrorist organisations on the app and were there for years, there is no moderation on that website. And hacking peoples' details are very common.

I beg of you do not play this. It's not an actual game, this app is for recluse people who are not accepted in society for reasons hence why the name is called Second Life. People are cosplaying rape and pedophilia as well there has been many cases of real life kidnapping happening here. GAME IS NOT SAFE! STAY AWAY!!!!!!

I played this game for 14 years,

I played this game for 14 years,, anyone who 5 stars this game is either ignorant completely blind is having there ass kissed by the second life players,, or is in on the rape and child abuse, here goes
I concentrated on amaretto horses and met family,
Linden labs does not ban americans even if there participating in child abuse, Dont believe me check out the neverland scandal ( which LL had known about and only acted when a reporter exposed it,, )
The men in second life are really pretty princesses they start hastle and attack you but when you strike back they run to linden labs, I built my own security system as there was men raping female avatars but the rapist complained to my landlord he could not access my land, and i was told to take it down no bans lines were allowed ,
The woman here most are desporados they will welcome the men but verbally abuse there female partners,
If your female they will kick you from nightclubs and gatherings, just because they get jealous of your guy.. A very anti christian place, your attacked just for being christian, Isis meet in this game,, to recruit people,, they know about this too, Parents of disabled children do not let your kids in here, your exposing them to danger,

Last straw i tracked the rapist down and his female companion to mainland, asked linden labs to help as they were doing this to a lot of females they refused
so before i left i put a repeat sim crasher on alot of sims on mainland and was instantly banned, Goodbye second life.

It is horrible game

It is horrible. it was not like last time. i get ban due to the people keep report me for harrasement when i am not in the sim. plus i paid a huge amount of money and they are not happy. Plus because i want to cancel my perimum membership they kick me out and ban me fron second life. Why all the pedofile and rapist on the game and Second Life let them join the game? Then why customer service very slow and you ban people without any evidence. I was harrased in my private land non stop for 1 hour and then people keep kicking me around my sim and after i reported them they perma ban me. Plus why is most avi not rez on pc? What trash you need to space limit your house ? After a week Roblox got shut down for 2 days after i got ban from Second Life. I do not know it is Second life workers doing this dirty job to shutdown roblox. My account name is rose9991sl.
