Friends recommended Secret Escapes and so we signed up and our experience using the web site was easy, deals offers and deals were clear precise and well informed, the booking process is easy to complete and all areas of the the booking including package contents, cancellation policy and payment details are included and now all we have to do is compare the package and the stay once completed to see how they match up and meet the expectations given in the package, it’s a special occasion and so fingers crossed it’s going to be better than expected. Watch out for our follow up review after our stay end of September. Location, hotel facilities and services, package content and value for money.

The booking process is bad
The booking process is bad. I was warned by a friend that nothing is confirmed until 7 days days before departure nad it does say this in their booking conditions. However, having handed over a substantial amount of money the itinerary sent is inaccurate. Apparently it will all be ok 7 days before!!!! It is at best amateurish.
I have to say booking a hotel alone in the uk has been absolutely fine and the booking process excellent which is why I chanced the package booking. Never again.

A few days away in the Yorkshire Dales
Needed a few days away in the Yorkshire Dales and Secret Escapes came up with a superb offer at The Devonshire Arms Bolton Abbey, an excellent hotel in a superb location close to the river Wharfe.
The booking process was so easy; the site being easy to navigate and find appropriate information quickly.

We have booked some 30 short UK breaks, over the last 8 years, through Secret Escapes. All have been very good or excellent. They have been good value.
Daily emails are very easy to navigate and book. My account works well. We have 3 short breaks booked over the next 3 months and are looking forward to them.
We have yet to book an overseas holiday through S.E.

Hotel Consistency
I have been using secret escapes for many years and I have not once been disappointed with the quality and consistency of the hotels we have booked. Paying for the hotel upfront is not a problem for us, because on the infrequent occasions we had to cancel, credits have been available. The booking system is very user friendly.

This is the second time we have used this site. The first booking was a hotel which made us welcome and had a very enjoyable experience.

Beware !!!!!
We made an error on the website and were made to pay full balance it was only booked for 5 minutes and they took £990 from us and said it was our mistake we couldnt have a refund. We asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and the agent from South Africa said the manager is on holiday for 10 days. Im the only person you can speak to and you've lost your money simple as that. Absolutely disgusting customer service. !!!!!!

Excellent holiday at Club Maspalomas in Gran Canaria. The booking process was straightforward and the accommodation was superb.
The flights and transfers worked as planned. Although no transfer voucher was received, which caused a little concern, it was resolved by Secret Escapes.
