Looking for a Job in Ireland - International Talent

I recently reached out to Senitor in search of job opportunities in Ireland.

As an applicant from Portugal and an EU citizen, I can easily relocate and provide a 60-day notice to my current employer. However, my experience with Senitor was deeply disappointing.

Margaret Parker Grimes, a staff member (actually a Head of their staffing crew) at Senitor, initially dismissed my CV, claiming there were no suitable openings for my skillset.

This statement was false, as there were at least four relevant job postings within the past two weeks, one of which I am overqualified for. Despite this, and after revealing that I was qualified for some of them, Margaret started insisting that I should move to Ireland first before she could assist me further.

This advice is impractical and financially risky. And here is why:
Relocating without securing a job can lead to significant expenses, and the job search process for specialized roles can be lengthy, often taking three months or more. Additionally, it does not guarantee employment to get through diverse technical interviews.

I explained to Margaret that, at my almost 40 years old, I do not have the financial means to undertake such an uncertain venture.

My health condition also prevents me from taking temporary jobs that would involve physical labor. Despite this, Margaret's response was to delete our recent connection on LinkedIn, seemingly due to my inability to perform certain physical tasks (since it was after I pointed that situation out), which I consider discriminatory.

Her proposal to move without a job plan was irresponsible and could have jeopardized my financial stability and well-being if I would follow it without being aware of reality.

This experience has been frustrating and disappointing, and I feel compelled to share it to warn others.

I intend to file an official complaint once I am in Ireland (which you can be certain that I will), as the handling of my case was not only unprofessional but also potentially harmful.

Senitor needs to reassess their approach to job seekers, especially those with specific needs and constraints, or be honest and just say that you are not interested in International Talent and/or Talent with any degree of disability.

Shame on you, Senitor, for your lack of empathy and professionalism.

Strange experience

Strange experience. I got a cold call from them, asking if my business had any vacancies. When I called back, they were really shirty on the phone, then they cut me off! Hardly the type of recruiter I’d rely on to find me staff if that’s what they are like!

Avoid

Avoid, rude staff, obnoxious accounts, rip off fees and then threaten legal action. 7 day payment terms reflecting the complete lack of faith they have in the competency of the applicants they put forward for roles. Supposedly vetted, supposedly experts in IT ensuring the accuracy of applicants CV’s etc. laughable. As stated in another review, throw enough material at the wall and hope some sticks, and better yet, hope they last longer than a week so they can threaten legal action to extract thousands of pounds for the ‘material’ they threw at the wall. Save yourself the pain, look elsewhere.

Don’t bother

Linked in recuriters send you message thats fine, arrange a call with them for a set time, do they call you back, you try and ring them try speak to the person who sent the message they don’t answer the phone, unfortunately bit stuck because if they have the exclusive of the job you have to deal with them
