Very clear instructions and very patient tutor, I really enjoyed it, came away having finished a basic sewing project with a Tote bag. I will be re-booking to try my hand with another project

A fantastic 1-1 session with Laura. I booked for 2 hours and the time just flew. It was great fun and I learnt more in this session than in the three months I’d had the machine! Laura completely tailored the content to my needs.
Highly recommend the teacher and the venue.

Sew-In-Brighton is in a league of its own. Kat and her team are friendly, accommodating and highly qualified - bringing an abundance of knowledge and skills to the lessons. I particularly love the flexibility - students can work on their own individual, custom projects or can opt for more structured group projects or workshops. I wanted to develop a series of patterns for unusual sleeves, and received great support, encouragement and tuition - I'm so pleased with the results! I also like the fact that you can book a block of lessons at a discount, without having to schedule all your class dates at the start. Classes are small, so the rotating one-to-one attention from the teacher works very well. New measures have been put in place to support social distancing (and there have even been some opportunities for online tuition). The environment is charming, the atmosphere is warm and friendly, and I always so look forward to going - a secret little creative refuge where the rest of one's agenda is left outside the door!

I am very glad I tried sewing, it added a very valuable toolkit to my craft knowledge. I started with an "absolute beginners workshop" where I completed a cushion cover and pyjama bottoms; I then asked the teachers to plot a course for me to be able to make jeans ... and I did. With the skills I had plus a little more tuition I was able to sew my own waistcoats (kinda advanced ;-) if you ask me) for when I got married.

I always love being at Sew in Brighton. The atmosphere is so friendly and encouraging. In the Stitch Sewing and Dressmaking Class with Kat’s help I managed to make my first ever pair of knickers. I left feeling chuffed!

I've been a regular attendee at The Sewing Lounge for a number of years and have enjoyed the stitch classes and focused garment classes. I love my coatigans, kimono jackets and many other items. The tutors, environment and support has given me a great deal of confidence and improved my sewing no end. Nevermind expanding my wardrobe!
During lockdown I've been keen to continue sewing. Kat has set up on line sewing sessions with clear pre-session instructions, great on screen instruction and good follow up. I've been able to continue my sewing journey and have now made several items on my own.
I can't praise Kat and the team highly enough for such great opportunities. What's next? A pompom workshop!

As a complete beginner Kat very patiently helped me set up my own machine and start to use it competently. She has a lot of experience. I would thoroughly recommend Sew In Brighton.

Kat is so patient and friendly, she was able to take me from know absolutely nothing with a skill level of 0 to making a beautiful jacket for my mum who was blown away by it! Testament to Kat’s teaching skills is the fact that the coat hasn’t fallen apart and my mum shows it off to all her friends!

I really enjoyed my afternoon workshop at Sew in Brighton! It was a good amount of time and I learnt a lot about making a pattern from an item of clothing. Although the workshop is smaller than I imagined, it was absolutely enough space to work and it was nice to be near enough to see teacher demonstrations and to chat to others.
The teacher was knowledgeable and carefully guided us through the process of making a pattern through group demos and individual instruction. She was very easy going and made me feel at ease!
I left the class fully equipped with the knowledge and skills to make more patterns from my clothes! Brilliant!

I had a few sewing lessons now and am really enjoying it. I’ve never done any sewing before so I’m a complete beginner. With Kat’s patience and expertise I feel I’m getting somewhere. It’s nice to alter your own clothes.

We had an excellent time at Sew in Brighton - my husband and I took on the mighty task of Marcame! Not only did we feel really at home - we were made tea and made ever so welcome, but our teacher helped the process to be simple, fun and manageable and we both left with macrame hangers for our plant pots in just under 2 hours. i discovered how therapeutic it can be to work with your hands and was impressed with what we got done. the teacher included all the materials in the cost of the workshop and we had a good old natter with the other participants. Would definitely visit again!
