Great company for garment printing

Ordered some printed LMSD T-Shirts for a BASE course in France.

There was a slight hick-up with the order, but the Team at Shirt Monkey couldn’t have been more helpful.

They quickly resolved the issue and got them out to me before the trip. The quality of the printing directly to the fabric and T-shirts was also really good.

So overall very pleased with the service and product.

This is the first review I've ever…

This is the first review I've ever written but I am compelled to share my experience so that others can make an informed decision. Read the other negative comments and take note. If you are looking for consistency avoid shirtmonkey, over the space of a year or so I've spent thousands with them and regularly experienced:

- faded misprints
- stains
- parcels delivered to the wrong address
- wrong garments used
- parcels that didn't arrive when they said they would

The time spent taking images writing emails back with long explanations finding order numbers was excessive a lot of the time they remained unanswered.

They have a low rating and are cheaper for a reason because they are not a reliable t-shirt printer, avoid this company at all costs they can't be trusted!

Finally, the thing that really stands out is the complete lack of concern or customer service. Based on my experiences there is only one conclusion you can come to, they simply don't care.

I received my order of three t-shirts today and while two are up to the usual standard I have come to expect but one was sub standard.
The print was off kilter sloping slightly from right to left.
This is the first time I have had an issue with SM so hopefully my next order will be up to the usual quality I receive.

transfer at an angle on all three garments

Ordered samples but they arrived with the transfer at an angle on all three garments so I can't wear them in public. No response from sales hence frustrated review. Good quality jumper and avg T-shirts but also v expensive with Vat and delivery.

Denial of responsibility!

For the record, I used to LOVE Shirt Monkey. But the bigger they've got, the more mistakes they make. I really don't like to give bad reviews but due to the absolutely blinkered, repeated response to my complaint I feel I have no choice.

Long story short, they resized my designs despite me sending the exact artwork to scale (the file names even had the sizes noted!) and stressing in every email that the designs were to be printed to scale. I supplied my own garments but apparently their small print says that there is no reprint or refund on any orders with supplied garments! Seems rather unfair to trust a company with stock and due to human error end up with an order of unusable tshirts.

No doubt the company director, Nic, will respond to this review with the same bunch of weak excuses I have already been given on numerous emails. The point is, if you order anything and specify exactly what you want, would you be expected to pay if you were given an incorrect order? No, you wouldn't.

Hugely disappointed with a company whose name now seems to reflect the way they work. Monkeys. There are plenty of other great DTG companies out there, I would suggest anyone considering DTG prints look elsewhere to perhaps a smaller company that actually cares about the customer. Cue Nic's response.....

The reply just goes to show that you clearly do not read emails properly. And that explains the error. The FILE NAMES had the SIZES on and the ORIGINAL ARTWORK sizes were to scale which I made very clear before any proof was sent. You can twist the facts in your favour as much as you want but you are omitting details in your reply. I have stressed this so many times. You ignored my emails. You ignored the correct sizes. And I NEVER received a final proof despite requesting one from you personally twice. Maybe re-read my emails before responding next time. The evidence of your failure is clear!

I really do not like to moan but it is clear you’re doing everything to avoid accepting responsibility. You may think 9mm difference is acceptable but it’s not and should not have happened.

Looking forward to your next excuse.

Update: Well, even a phone call to Nic at Shirt Monkey made no difference. Hiding behind his companies T&C's he still could not see that it was multiple staff errors that lead to the printing mistake.

PLEASE AVOID SHIRT MONKEY AT ALL COST and Google other DTG companies. It takes a LOT for me to complain and Nic could have sorted this so quickly but chose to use the jobsworth route instead.

Oh boy. This is pathetic. The sizes I confirmed on the call were not the sizes printed. Please do not venture into a world of lies ok, Nic. You know as well as I do that you are not playing ball. I truly hope that anyone reading this (if they aren’t as bored of this as I am) will take their orders elsewhere. Out of principle. It’s now very likely that someone with an order much larger than mine will now choose not to use Shirt Monkey. You have dug this hole for yourself, Nic

I am not hiding behind our terms and conditions, I am standing by them. I'm sorry it had to come to this, we work hard to ensure that our customers are always happy, but I'm sorry that in this instance I had to stand by our team and our terms. I will also not tolerate verbal abuse over the phone to myself or any of my team.

I will accept that the sizing on the first proof that was sent to you was incorrect. You sent it back with the actual sizes that you would like us to use. We used these sizes for the next proof which was approved by you via email.

It subsequently turns out that the sizes you sent to us, as confirmed by you during the call, were actually incorrect. As a result the print is 9mm too small.

I would hope that anybody reading this review can sympathise with us that that as you approved the proof.

I would also like to point out that you are arguing over 9mm, i could sympathise more if the print was 35cm instead of 15cm. But the requested size was 279mm high and it was printed at 270mm.

DTG print on a GildanT shirt

Ordered a T shirt for DTG printing on both front and back and it arrived very quickly. This was after jumping ship from a previous "go to" print company. The quality of the print is excellent I am delighted with every aspect of the purchase.

Excellent service all round

Excellent service all round. The tshirt and print are extremely high standard. I ordered a tshirt for a funeral. I got in touch after I had ordered and explained that I needed it for the funeral, they marked the job as urgent and got it sent out the same day! Brilliant service.

awful customer service. avoid.

I should have trusted the older negative reviews because this company has been a nightmare to order from.

There was absolutely no attention to detail whatsoever throughout this entire process, continuous spelling and grammar mistakes through the emails and on my invoice (they even spelt my name wrong multiple times!!) Email replies take incredibly long and when you DO eventually get a response the information is so poorly worded and short. I had to constantly ask for email updates, unfortunately I can’t mind read when things have been dispatched or processed.

They misprinted my tote bags and then told me there was nothing wrong with them, despite me attaching pictures of their mock-up that clearly showed otherwise. The t-shirts upon inspection were okay but I have seen better print quality from cheaper businesses. They asked me to confirm a reprint to which I DENIED, I asked for a refund. They then said whoops! we’ve already sent out the reprint which should arrive to you in a few days. But after a few days it didn’t turn up so I emailed again….and magically they somehow retrieved the dispatched parcel and decided not to tell me! I double checked their terms and conditions prior to asking for a refund, so I know that they were completely at fault here.

****EDITED TO ADD*** I finally received a refund from them after three weeks of waiting. I gave them the wrong account number which I will take responsibility for. It took them three weeks (and me leaving a negative google review) for them to finally mention the incorrect bank details.

You may be tempted to order from them because of the cheap-ish prices, but it is not worth the risk. If something goes wrong with your order you are basically on your own. They really need to do better. Perhaps in the future I may try their services again but right now there is absolutely no way I would go near this company.

The owner himself did email me today which I appreciated.

WOW!

I ordered a test shirt initially just to check out the company. In part also due to the number of less than favourable reviews on here. I received the shirt today (print and delivery took around a week, which is fine) and I'm floored. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, as I had no experience with DTG printing, but this is amazing. The print came out exactly as designed. Perfect print size, vibrant colours and printed straight. I then compared it to a brandnew shirt with regular screenprinting and I honestly and genuinely cannot tell the difference. Unbelievably good! The shirt is typical Gildan Heavy Cotton quality (as ordered and expected). I love the website as well, which is easy to use/ navigate, quick to upload designs and even does mock-ups in PNG, which you can use for your website. You can even integrate an existing shop with their website and have them print and process all orders for you (although this is not for me personally). Great stuff! The prices are fantastic as well. Overall, I'm massively impressed and one happy camper! I will most definitely continue to use this company for all my merch needs, provided, of course, I keep receiving the kind of quality items I received today, so there will be many more orders coming your way soon! Thanks, Shirt Monkey and keep up the good work!

After several months of using ShirtMonkey, I still fully stand behind my initial review. Fantastic company! I still have not had to return anything, so I can't comment on this, but in my book this is a good thing. The quality of the merch received so far is top notch and consistent. They're customer service is fantastic as well. I contacted them regarding one order to ask if it could be prioritised, as a customer wanted the merch quickly. They did and the shirts arrived a few days earlier. Again, I have nothing but praise for them and I'm one happy customer! Long may this continue!

Horrible customer service; no apologies or refund

i sent in a front side and back side design. they did not send me a full size proof, just a confirmation letter where the front design was shown at less than 1cm. assuming a staff had reviewed the design, i waited for my two shirts. both came with 10% of the front design cut off and 70% of the back design cut off. The postage also added a surcharge of 14 euros I was not informed about or warned of. So I ended up paying over 50 pounds for two completely unusable shirts. They should have staff that reviews and confirms the order. this is ridiculous that they would think that someone would be okay with 10-70% of the design chopped off.

with regards to their reply:
I should note that i'm a UX designer and NOT blind. It's also part of the printing process for staff to review the design and see if there's anything egregiously wrong. This is par for the course. The fact that i didn't see either warning during the course of the process points to faulty UI. You generally get a full size proof. What i got was a fulfillment of order that didn't even show the proof of the back and a tiny proof of the front. So be warned: Nobody human is reviewing your design. So much for 'quality'.

I am sorry that you were not happy with your order. We did apologise for this but just to confirm, unfortunately, it looks like you placed your artwork outside of the printable area of the shirt using our online design tool.

A warning message is displayed when this happens but you chose to proceed with your order anyway. A visual mockup does appear on the screen for you to check prior to completing the checkout process. This would have also displayed the artwork being slightly cropped.

With regards to the surcharge, as explained in the email this was the import duties which are payable for all imports into your country and is completely outside of our control and would be payable if you order from any other printer located in the UK.

I am sorry we are not able to assist you further.

So far the best

Prints and embroidery are really impressive! You couldn't tell if its DTG or screen printed, black is actually black, lines are so crisp 👌 Team is very lovely, overall very trustworthy company. I would not trust any other POD service with my business. It may not be for someone who is just “trying” to start a business because you have to pay for integration. But if you are serious and invested in your business then i definitely recommend shirt monkey big time 👍👍👍

Poor Customer Service

I ordered a shirt for my customer on sep 7 but there is still no update on their site. I have to complete order with tracking number today. I tried to contact them 3 times via E-Mail but they haven't answered since 4 days. There is no way to contact them even can't request for payment refund. I feel scammed.

Your design also contained copyright images from a well established brand so we would not have been able to complete your order. We received your email on Sunday the 11th of September requesting a refund and processed this on our return to the office on Monday the 12th.

Helpful, friendly and superquick!

We needed a super quick turnaround on 30 T-shirts, I called to see if they could be delivered within a week, the person on the phone was very friendly and helpful and told me that my order would jump the queue as it was needed urgently.
The T-shirts arrived less than 5 working days later and we're super happy with them.
They really saved us as another company had let us down last minute. Would definitely use Shirt Monkey again.

Dream of starting a clothing brand turned into a nightmare

I would never normally write a review but I feel like I need to just to warn people like me who want to start a clothing brand.

I tried to start my own brand with these as the order fulfilment sounds great if your just starting up as it means you dont have to buy in bulk. But the whole 6 months I worked with them was actually painful.

Without going into detail because I'll rant all day if i do, heres a few things I experienced:

- paid to have labels put in clothes, they were missing
- other labels were put on wonky
- embroidered logos inconsistent and poor quality
- labels put on bottom hem of garments rather than the neck of 7 orders when SKUs stated 'in neck'
- All but 2 orders placed on the first day of launch were sent out with defects
- logos printed too big when all logos were made to scale
- 62% of garments sent to my customers were defects
- orders taking on average 2 weeks to reach customers

There is no attention to detail at all and it's other brands reputations that theyre destroying. Communication with these is VERY poor. There is no care for the businesses they supply to at all.

I couldn't happily promote my business as I was scared of what customers were going to end up with. I lost a lot of money closing website to look for new manufacturers but Id rather take the loss than build my brand a bad reputation.

Only thing that was good was the quality of the Stanley Stella range, but thats available on the stanley stella website or on other print on demand companies. Honestly dont bother because youll get stuck in a vicious circle of wanting to gain your investment back but digging yourself a deeper hole.

A shambles of an establishment

On first inspection the customer service seems impeccable. However, over the course of the 6 months we used them it turned from bad to worse. Now it has gotten to the point where I feel compelled to write a review ( normally I wouldn't bother .)

They will take days to reply to the simplest emails , overcharge you and have an overall huge lack of professionalism. However you may be inclined to still use this company due to the cheap prices they offer. I would warn you that you will regret it. This company is incapable of executing the most basic tasks without constant badgering.

Stay clear and use literally anyone else!!!!!

one job to do, can’t do it...

Noticed on their website that you had to order by a certain date to ensure Xmas delivery, so wanted to get my order in quickly. Took them 2 days to respond to my first email. Had to keep calling them to find out any info. Provided them with the logo I wanted embroidering and they told me it needed amending to be embroidered. The logo is the logo.. Poor communication. Delays in responses. Unhelpful. In the end got in touch with Krowmark who immediately took on the order (within minutes) with no fuss or delays, and were extremely helpful. Would not recommend shirt monkey - they are time wasters.

Had lots of little quibbles

Had lots of little quibbles, but main ones were it took 2 days to reply to my email, which they said was a typical response time. There are always issues with printers, if the s' hits the fan one day, I don't want my customers waiting 2 days for me to respond.

Also I ordered 9 samples before setting up an account with them. 1 of which they couldn't fulfil because it was out of stock. A small yellow gildan t shirt - not particularly niche. What happens if I get a hundred customer orders? You tell me, probably be messy with lots of "sorry it's out of stock" emails.

Nice people but didn't acknowledge their issues, haven't had these problems with other printing companies.
