Total scam. Called in and immediately asked for more money twice. Getting a refund. Dont bother.

They run deceptive and fraudulent business practices. First of all, their 30 day satisfaction guarantee runs from the day you purchase the package, not from the day you actually receive any service. It’ll take you couple of weeks before you get to have your initial call with the project manager to discuss scope of your project. From there it’ll be almost a month before you see a first draft.
Here is what went wrong with our project. Project manager seemed to be more focused on upselling us for their services during our call than paying attention to what we needed / wanted to get done. She then proceeded to charge my credit card they kept on file without my permission. After our call I emailed her immediately and told her to refund my card for lighting package as we didn’t have electricity in our backyard no way to get it there. She of course disregarded my request.
3.5 weeks later we got our first draft. Areas that were already landscaped and I told her we would not be changing were completely redesigned despite the fact I didn’t even provide measurements for them. What I did provide was measurements for the lawn area that we wanted redesigned into seating area surrounded by flower beds and a water feature. That was left untouched. I immediately recognized that the project manager completely disregarded my written instructions about the project and also disregarded everything she was told during our call. At that moment I wanted nothing more to do with this company. I emailed her my feedback and request for a full refund. She again, ignored my request and replied she could do revisions. What revisions? We’d have to redo everything. I wasn’t going to spend months going back and forth with them. Called and talked to “customer service” twice and requested refund. Nothing happened. Emailed project manager again. Nothing happened except the same “we can do revisions”. Called my credit card company and disputed all charges. They’re nothing but scammers. Their backyard “package” advertised for under $300 is a lie. They’ll upcharge you left and right before they’ll send you any proposal and then will refuse to refund you even if they didn’t deliver anything you asked for. Someone should start class action suit and run them out of business. Based on BBB complaints I read, I’m not the only one having the same experience.

Please do not trust them. They are scams, and they only charge you. The money back guarantee for them is not through

We are fortunate to have a nice-sized back yard but a lot of the space is taken up by a steep slope with difficult soil. We have had some ideas but it’s been hard to come up with an overall design plan so when we heard about Shrub Hub we were excited to see what they could do for us. We signed up right away and got started with photographs and measurements but we had to take an unexpected break part way through and were so grateful to Shrub Hub’s excellent customer service who worked with us to keep the process going. We are looking forward to finding out what they can imagine for our spaces!

Helen did a phenomenal job in creating a garden landscape, based off photos I had sent to her and discussions on what I was wanting. Providing the names of each plant, tree and flower, plus the simple method of directly orderring items for that design, made the exoerience very easy and understandable.

It's a scam. Over promise and lie. I had high hopes but they don't have the expertise to execute. Spend your money elsewhere.

I was so impressed with this service and with what Helen (our designer) produced for us. She listened to all our desires and requirements and somehow was able to fit in all elements and integrate them seamlessly in our layout. And speaking of layout, it was better than we could have imagined it. This service was well worth the cost. They have top notch designers with clear understanding of architectural aesthetics and how to give a customer what they are looking for. Very pleased with Helen and Shrubhub 🤙

Wow! I am blown away. I opened up the backyard design plans from my email and I’m so impressed. I have a funky-shaped, triangular backyard because I’m at the end of a court and I wanted to accomplish a lot with my space (lap pool, fire pit, water garden, etc.) but I felt overwhelmed with no idea how to go about situating hardscapes and plants in any way that would flow and not feel pieced together like Frankenstein’s monster. At a complete loss of where to start, I decided to hire Shrub Hub. After reading mixed reviews online, I was a little wary, but I figured that for such a reasonable price, it would be worth it even if to use the design as a jumping board for my own ideas. It turns out a redesign is wholly unnecessary. First, I want to compliment the webpage as it was very user-friendly. I uploaded pictures and a video of my current backyard as well as inspiration pictures. I used Google Earth to provide measurements for the yard size. And then I listed what I wanted included, like I wanted to keep my existing 1-year old deck and what I wanted added as far as hardscapes and plants (e.g. I like evergreens but wanted to avoid plants with thorns/stickers). Then I had an online phone meeting with Emily Walker who was courteous, knowledgeable, and thoughtfully listened to everything I said and even made some suggestions like hiding my trash cans and adding a storage shed. Still, I was a mix of cautious excitement and skepticism. I waited from May 10 to May 29 to get my 3-D designs. And they are worth every dollar. I really cannot say how absolutely blown away and in love with the design I am.

OVERALL, I am pleased with the 1st design/layout Nancy provided. She was able to capture everything on our list of requirements and really thought outside the box in terms of having it flow, and the design was completed quicker than expected. I did notice some privacy trees were not included at the fence line and Nancy immediately noted she'd make the edits, along with a couple more suggestions.

Currently waiting to see what the final touches look like (will update review once done), but I'm shocked at how seamless the process has been and looking forward to getting the backyard in completed to enjoy this space! Thank you Nancy and Shrubhub for creating a space for my family to grow into.

DON’T USE THIS SERVICE IF YOU HAVE AN HOA! Shelled out over $600 to include HOA quality renderings and unlimited revisions. The problem is, neither the first or second design were even close to what I wanted and by the time I got something that I could even submit to my HOA, it took them 2 weeks to reject the plans and the revisions ran out and they asked for another $150 to do another revision.

I get it, what I paid for was 30 days of unlimited revisions. But what they don’t tell you is how long it takes to turn around revisions, and when you’re held to an HOA, there’s no way you can get anything more than one design in 30 days. So when that one misses the mark, you’re out $600 for a few hours worth unusable of work.

Know what you’re getting yourself into, and don’t waste your money.

I am very happy with Nancy at shrubhub. Nancy was very responsive and did amazing work. We told her we wanted a cost-conscious project and she delivered it! The project surpassed our expectations. Highly recommend Nancy at shrubhub. You won't be disappointed.

I spent a lot of time uoading photos of the entire site and providing input on design requests including preferences on shrubs etc .. I got back a design that put an outdoor kitchen on top of steps leading out of the house and a bar looking into the kitchen instead of the view of the pool !!! Don't waste your money !! When I contacted them about correcting their errors they said they would need more money ! What's scam.

In some weird auto-fill glitch, the shipping address was updated to a completely different state, despite the street address being correct. When I reached out about the issue, they said it was already en route and couldn't be rerouted.

FedEx said differently when I talked with them. When I followed up with Shrubhub, they said the plants wouldn't handle the rerouting and "Apologies for the inconvenience"

... that's it. $170 order and less than zero effort to get it right.

Super scammy. Phone consultation went over everything I had already told them in the questionnaire- certainly not value additive. Then I was told I would have to pay extra given the size of my yard- which was something that I could have been easily informed of up front (and probably would have paid had they been transparent). I cancelled immediately.

I thought that we weren't going to get a very good design at first because our phone consult was only about 15 to 20 minutes. I was incorrect, because our design was almost exactly what we wanted in the first draft. There were only minor changes that needed to be revised. Our designer, Helen, took our photos and description of what we wanted and created a design we loved!

I had the pleasure of working with Helen, the founder of Shrubhub and I can’t stress enough how happy I am with the process. She was really attentive to detail and overall took all of the things we wanted in the design and turned it into a beautiful design ready to be executed.

Highly recommend going with the more premium options so you get a better render.

It is colorful and full of texture, interesting, and well balanced. This was a great experience. Highly recommend shrubhub!

had them do a basic design provided them plans and full photo documentation as requested. took several weeks they asked for more money and then what was provided was useless. furthermore it was not even buildable as there was no consideration the the topography of the yard. It was a nice thought but to good to be true.
