We sent a watch to be repaired to Simon Freese over a year ago.
We have recently been emailing him asking to return the watch unrepaired as its taking so long. 3months on we are still waiting! We have had no response from him either. Very disappointing
In ‘22 I bought a Hamilton W10 from a specialist military seller, who’s watches are all serviced before sale be Simon Freese.
Last year I sent the watch back for a service to SF. From the start communication was awful. I was quoted 12 weeks but it took nearly 5 months. On receiving the watch back it was running 5 minutes slow and the crown fell off! As it was still under the service warranty I sent it back to them. Again really poor communication and the watch was returned to me now running 12 minutes late! They have subsequently stopped answering my emails. Never answer the phone or respond to messages.
Decided to wear the watch, even though it doesn’t accurately tell the time. Today tje crystal fell out of the watch.
Avoid this company at all costs. Poor communication. Poor attitude and shoddy workmanship.
I sent a 1970s Heuer chronograph to Simon Freese for a service and to investigate an issue with it intermittently stalling. He worked on the watch and got it back to me within a couple of months, but the stalling problem was still there. I therefore asked him to take a look under his guarantee. He ignored my first email requesting this, but agreed upon receiving a second email, so I sent the watch to him again.
Then it went quiet. Over the following months I emailed several times requesting an update, but I never received a reply.
Then I messaged posing as a new customer with a watch needing a service and I received a response within an hour...
After five months I eventually got the watch back, supposedly after a full strip down, an examination of all components, and an adjustment of the automatic winding mechanism. But the stalling problem was still there.
And the first time I wore the watch, one of the chronograph pushers fell off due to its screw not being tight.
And when I went to rectify this, I discovered that the caseback was screwed on only finger-tight.
I've since had the watch serviced and repaired elsewhere, where the cause of the stalling was identified and components replaced to get it running correctly again.
Avoid Simon Freese and anything to do with him or his company.
He quoted me a watch service in June 2025 and said it be done by the end of August and I only got it back at the start of November 2025
The only time I spoke to him in the phone at the start of November 2025, he agreed to a 50% refund and hasn’t paid it yet….
Your money is better spent elsewhere.don’t make the same mistake I did.
Have now used Simon 3x . 2x Omega and a Bremont. Always does a great watch service.
Yes communication is a little slow . But can't fault his work.
Exchanged multiple emails with this watch maker to repair and restore two omega wristwatches. Was first given an ambiguous price quote. Upon following up and after several to and fro emails, this was clarified. Correspondence was with the CS person at their office. Finally when they were asked about warranty of repair and to send payment terms so that repairs could be done, we received a curt can't do your job email and had an even worse experience on calling them to ask why they couldn't proceed after wasting so much of our time on to and fro emails, they hung up on us! Wow! Unbelievably curt, rude and unprofessional attitude. Go to some one else!
