Adebola J was a great help …
Adebola J was a great help in drawing up a will for me . Kept me updated = explained the whole proceedure cleary
Terrible experience
Terrible experience. They have contacted us proactively as our previous lawyer's branch was sold to them. Fixing up a meeting and sending you 5 reminders about it is what they do best. The Draft is full of mistakes, the portal does not function, payment that we (sadly) made after the meeting with an adviser on acknowledged, no answers to multiple emails from us. Will follow the complaint procedure and request our money back
Do not use this company
Do not use this company they are a complete shambles. They are exploiting elderly people. They have taken a year to prepare a will and two POA's but they are still littered with errors including getting my name wrong on both documents. They fob you off with "the manager is reviewing the file" but nothing happens. They are effectively scammers

Ali was great and walked us through the whole process. He was very meticulous
Awful service
I have been trying to get our Wills returned from Simpsons since October 2025 when my husband was very ill. Every time I phone I am told my request will be escalated to the document retrieval department. My husband has since passed away and it is now vital that I have possession of the original Wills for probate purposes. Again no communication from Simpsons.
An Unacceptable Experience.
This review relates to Simpsons Solicitors, Hadleigh, Suffolk.
My wife and I had prepared our wills and lodged them with a local solicitor. We wished to review a document accompanying each will and found that the solicitor had closed. We traced the wills to RightLegal Group and their local branch Simpsons. We were extremely annoyed that they had been transferred without our permission or knowledge. Initial contact was good and a representative from Simpsons visited us to discuss our needs. Thereafter they concentrated on advising us to set up a Trust and a Lasting Power of Attorney at what we considered at exorbitant rate. Later a senior person from Simpsons telephoned and offered a £500 pound reduction for this service. At this point we decided to withdraw our wills from their care. Eventually they were returned upon payment of a fee of £19.20
Beware
Simpson Solicitors presents itself as a local firm, but in reality it is just a shop front for Right Legal Group, which is based in Derby. This was never made clear during the will or probate process, causing confusion and delays. I was told I could deal locally, but all administration was handled remotely by staff with limited experience. The lack of transparency and misrepresentation is very concerning.
So upsettingly awful
So upsettingly awful. A simple draft will (which is literally just a template with certain, simple specific details added in) provided late. Amendments requested to the draft, by myself, within a few weeks after. Four months later - countless messages, emails sent by myself following up, requesting a response. Including a complaint raised. The literal only reply back in that period (via the messaging app/forum THEY required me to use) was to say 'sorry, the ADMIN dealing with your enquiry has been on holiday and will respond to you as a priority when she comes back on Monday' - that was over 2 months ago, not a single reply since, despite 5-6 follow ups and the complaint. They are literally withholding my will draft, that I paid £30--400 for. I feel powerless to do anything about it. I have asked for very simple amendments. Surely nothing more than an hour or two's work - they could then be done with it, as I could be, and we could move on. But no response at all. I don't want them to have anything to do with my Will moving forward but because they hold the draft, I am concerned for the executor status. I cannot describe how strongly I recommend everyone NOT TO USE this appalling company.
Do Not Use
Catalogue of non answered emails and phone calls. It has taken.months to get a Lasting Power of Attorney set up. Now dealing with a terminal illness and this still isn't in place despite all fees being paid. Apologies at this stage do not make up for sheer incompetence and cade has been taken to the Legal Ombudsman. Draft Wills were littered with errors. Please go anywhere but here.
No responses and no help yet
My solicitor went bust and I got a letter to say that Simpsoms now had my will. They offered me a home visit and quoted an eyewatering amount to adjust one name on the will. The woman said she would be in touch. Nothing happened. I thin realise I could get a free will adjustment from a charity as I was donating to them in my will. Then started the very long process of retrieving my will. 3 month later they tell me it will be amother two weeks. Most of the 3 months was calls not returned .
Appalling sent a legal letter chasing…
Appalling sent a legal letter chasing payment when I hadn't even received a draft document to review
Invalid Wills
In the 3 draft Wills we were sent there was upwards of 30 mistakes that we noticed with spelling and grammar.
There was no meeting room available at our Will signing meeting. So we were forced to sit in the middle of a coffee shop full of customers in the public area of the shared office space.
Ultimately the worst part of the service was noticing that a second witness signature had appeared when we reviewed the copies of our Wills at home after the singing meeting. However as there was no second witness present at the signing and this invalidated our Wills completely.
AVOID! Miselling and poor service is rife
They gained entry to my Mother’s home after she mistook them for another firm that had dealt with her Will years ago. Their advisor, Jack Doyle, spent two hours with her and managed to upsell her TWO LPAs for £1,000, leaving with a £250 deposit, which he took on the spot of course.
No paperwork was provided, no cost breakdown, and no mention of her 14-day legal cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Jack justified the excessive price by claiming it was due to “court time,” without explaining that all LPAs go through the court and can be registered independently for £82. My Mother has to decide whether to proceed or not, with a random man sitting in her house, with no paperwork and no clear understanding of what this even was.
Once we had time to review, it was clear the cost was unreasonable, and we requested a refund. The firm refused to return the full deposit, keeping 25% (over £100) despite no work being carried out. Jack avoided dealing with the issue as standard and went on annual leave, leaving it to a manager, Chloe. Her handling of the matter was rude and dismissive, with the approach of simply repeating the most basic facts, which made no sense (e.g. "we offer home visits"...?)
This behaviour is neither professional nor transparent. And note their standard response is always that “these comments do not reflect the full circumstances of this matter” - the same line repeated rather than addressing genuine complaints about their service.
This amount of negative reviews is so disheartening to find after you've already come into contact with a firm like this.
We will be escalating this to the Legal Ombudsman, an annoyingly lengthy process simply to get £250 back...how desperate are they!
I would strongly advise others to simply avoid this firm and any of its subsidiaries; just look at the reviews.

My mother used this company for her LFA and will. She thought that she was dealing with a local firm, not one that's part of Right Legal Group. It has taken seven weeks for them to simply provide the original will. Awful experience.
Poor Communication, I felt I was begging them!
I would not reccomend them at all. They contacted me for a will review out of the blue. I had the review over teams. I was told the price being over £600 for will that did have some complications. I was told there was a payment plan available and asked for more details. I emailed several times and always got a sorry, waiting for my manager. It felt like i was begging tem to take on my work! Eventually i was informed i needed to fill a direct debit form to start paying. I had not even had any details about the payment plan. I gave in and eventually someone else got in touch and offered me a 20% discount £522 paying over 10 months. I decided due to lack of trust to not continue with this company.
Awful company
Awful company, came to see us in March, made complaints from end of May. Eventually got money back 2 weeks ago as they agreed hadn’t done anything at all.
Do not use
Unreliable, lack of communication, sell at all cost do nothing in return, complaint procedures not followed , paperwork not given , costs not accurate nor fair
Do not use
For transparency, I have already reviewed Simpsons as a 1 star due to how they handled my mum's will and LPA.
Since then, I have been trying to get my will back off them - it was taken over from another solicitor.
Months in to the process, I am still waiting and similar to other peoples' experience on here, I keep having to jump through further hoops - but only when I contact them about where the will is. There is never any communication from them. This has got to the point that I wonder whether they have lost my will, although they have assured me they have not.
In addition to this, I received an email from someone in their document department with whom I had been dealing which was clearly meant for another recipient. The email had details of the other recipient's name, address and request in a clear breach of GDPR.
Ali Al-Obaidy did a great job.
Ali Al-Obaidy did a great job advising us through the will writing process. Polite, friendly, knowledgeable and a wonderful smile. Would recommend Ali and Simpsons highly. Alan and Valerie
