Don't recommend!
It used to be a good service, and I actually did get a job through using it. But then for no reason, at all, they discontinued my account and profile and blocked me from using their service at all, without any explanation or anything! Was so frustrating. I emailed sevaral times , asking for an explanation, and for them to please reactivate my account, but they didnt and won't.
Very rude company now. Don't recommend them.
Not enough nanny's on the platform
Not enough nanny's on the platform. You can't find that out until you pay. I'd stay away.

My profile was blocked with no clear explanation. I never even worked for one of their clients. They apparently take your money then block your profile. I would not trust or use them as a child care provider in my opinion.

Parents Pay, Feedback Gets Removed
As a parent paying for a premium childcare service, this experience was extremely disappointing and concerning.
I contacted a sitter on the platform to ask about availability. The message was read and I never received a response. Based on that experience, I left a one star review noting lack of communication, which is a basic and reasonable concern when choosing childcare.
Months later, the sitter repeatedly messaged me demanding that I remove the review and explicitly threatened to have my account removed if I did not comply. I reported this behavior as harassment.
Instead of addressing the sitter’s conduct or protecting me from continued contact, the platform removed my review. This effectively punished a paying parent for leaving honest feedback while allowing a sitter to avoid accountability.
If users are paying for a premium service, there should be meaningful screening and standards for responsiveness. Communication and reliability are fundamental trust and safety expectations in childcare. Suppressing reviews that reflect those concerns undermines transparency and makes it harder for parents to make informed decisions.
I would not recommend this platform to parents who value accountability, responsiveness, and consumer protection.
EDIT:
Seems like you are using some old date to diminish my review. I had sent in the email on JANUARY 15TH 2026.

I've been with Sittercity for 8+ years
I've been with Sittercity for 8+ years. In fact, I still watch the same boy from when I started! He was 2 and now 10. But in between the, nothing but great experiences. Whenever I've had any kind of issue, I've emailed the team at Sittercity and they've been prompt in response and they make it very easy to find what you need by the way their website is laid out. That's especially important when it involves a safety issue. At one time there were ads that obviously to me were fake. I could easily report those to corporate and it was handled immediately.
The only issue I have is when these companies discuss pay. I negotiate that with the family. I also live in San Diego where it's very expensive to live. Don't display ads about what to pay a sitter in a vanilla setting! And trust me! Parents know what they should be paying. I can't imagine going to work for anything under $25 an hour. That is going up as we speak. We are one of the highest states for gasoline price for starters. Add to that cost of living. And by the way, I've turned down plenty of work if things didn't feel right with the parent doing the interview. I always insist on a telephone visit at the very least before moving further. A text doesn't cut it and I don't want to work with that mentality. Could be anybody texting and it's not safe.
Sittercity by far, is the best choice for both sides. I can't say enough good things about them. There is NO comparison to the others. That's another story.
Thank you.

Don’t use their services
On **July 8, 2025**, I purchased a **quarterly premium membership** from Sittercity, which expired on **October 8, 2025**. During that period, I made extensive efforts to use the service — contacting sitters directly and posting multiple job listings — but received little to no responses. The platform’s features did not deliver the value or functionality advertised for a paid membership.
When I contacted customer service to request either a refund or an account credit, the representative was dismissive and stated that issues are not escalated. Instead of addressing my concern, they simply offered a 50% discount for another paid plan.
Sittercity’s refusal to escalate or provide meaningful support violates reasonable expectations for customer service and product value. I am requesting either:
1. A full or partial **refund** for the three-month subscription, or
2. An **account credit** allowing me to use the service properly for a comparable period.
I have attached screenshots of the chat with Sittercity’s representative to show how the matter was handled.

### **Resolution Requested**
Refund or account credit for the unused membership period

Expensive, not at all worth it
Expensive, you must pay anywhere from $40 to $190 just to respond to applicants. Applicants are not vetted, you must pay for background checks yourself which only serve to benefit the sitter for other jobs. Unable to find a reasonable sitter using this platform, and Sittercity does not offer refunds for dissatisfaction. A scam through and through.

I honestly don’t recommend them
I honestly don’t recommend them. Based on my experience, you can’t recommend people, companies, you can’t offer your services if you have a website. The point of having this site is to look and offer childcare services. God forbid you share a website, they block your account without notice. They want everything to be through them. The point of sittercity is to help parents find the right fit for their families needs and for caregivers to find a job. These people make it so difficult and they block your accounts for the smallest thing.

This platform is a scam
This platform is a scam. Most of the ‘nannies’ are bots designed to keep you paying the subscription fee.

We used SitterCity to find a early AM nanny/sitter
We used SitterCity to find a nanny/sitter for my three granddaughters. After several interviews we realized the hours we needed didn’t align with anyone’s schedule. I meant to cancel my membership but it slipped my mind until the day after I was billed for May. I contacted SitterCity and received a response in less than 24 hours from Jessica. She took care of my issue quickly - canceled my membership and even refunded that month.
If you need assistance Jessica is the person to ask for!!
