I have booked a car(Toyota Crysta) with this company for 12 days (from 17th Jan 2023). They delivered the car at my hotel in Chennai & i paid the full payment of Rs.48000 by this time. Later when i start the car, noticed that the tyres are in very bad condition & the steering wheels started shaking badly as soon as i started the car. I booked this car to travel to a wedding in Tamilnadu (around 350 kms from Chennai,India) & its very dangerous to drive this car this far. I have called to this car company on the same day and explained the issues & requested to provide another car if they have otherwise asked them to collect the car as i felt this car is not safe & the person spoke to me over the phone said he will call me next day around 10am. Next day, further to many attempts of calling, i was able to speak to him. but he said they can provide the other car but that car boot is badly dented, hence i didn't go for it. Later, he was saying he can change the car tyres but steering wheel issue can't be fixed.
Since its already a day delay to attend the weeding, i told them to collect the car.so that i can start my travel to wedding using bus/train services. He gave me the number to contact to the manager 'Murali'. but i was't able to reach him ( always someone from his office takes the call & say manager is busy or away etc.,). I called the same person who gave me the manager number, he told that he already discussed with the manager (Murali) & they can't refund the money. I requested them to charge 2 days rental & refund the balance money as am not returning the car on my own interest. I tried to reach the manager many times that day & i couldn't reach him.
Later (18th Jan 23), few staffs came & collected the car from me & refused to refund the money(saying manager advised to not refund). The day was screwed up due to this car rental & had to change my whole india trips plans.
I request Smile Self driven cars to act fairly and refund the money.
