Very Poor quality tobacco and Customer Service
I am a regular customer of Smoking King, but unfortunately my latest order went horribly wrong.
I ordered two flavoured pipe tobaccos on 24/08/2026. The order arrived two days later, but I only opened the products on 30/08/2026. To my great disappointment, both tobaccos were defected essentially tasteless, dry and completely lacking the flavours advertised
I contacted customer service and received a response from Sam stating that the products could not be returned because they had been opened. However, how am I supposed to determine whether a flavoured tobacco has the advertised flavour without opening it and actually trying it?
I was also told:
> “Taste and smoking preferences, including the strength of the flavour, perceived harshness or variations in moisture, are not considered product faults. Pipe tobaccos can naturally vary in their moisture levels, and unfortunately we cannot guarantee that a particular flavour will be as pronounced as expected.”
This is completely misleading and false advertisement where you don’t guarantee the moisture, freshness and. If I purchase vanilla-flavoured or coconut-flavoured pipe tobacco, surely I should reasonably expect to actually experience the advertised flavour. Otherwise, what exactly is the purpose of advertising it as flavoured tobacco? Surely the product is defective as I was happy with my previous same tobacco purchases!
I feel completely let down as a regular customer. The way this complaint has been handled has made the situation even worse.
I will no longer be purchasing from Smoking King. After being a regular customer, this experience has completely destroyed my confidence in the company. I will take this matter further

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your recent order, particularly as you have been a regular customer of Smoke-King for some time.
We understand your point that the flavour and moisture of a flavoured pipe tobacco cannot reasonably be assessed without opening and trying the product. However, as outlined in our Terms & Conditions, we are unable to accept returns of tobacco products that have been opened or used. This is because, once opened, we are unable to resell the product or establish how it has subsequently been stored or handled.
This does not mean that we are suggesting there is anything wrong with the products you received. Pipe tobaccos can naturally differ in moisture content and the intensity of their flavour can be perceived differently from one smoker to another. The advertised flavour describes the blend and its intended characteristics, but we cannot guarantee that every customer will experience the flavour or moisture level in exactly the same way.
We are also sorry that our previous response left you feeling that your concerns were not being taken seriously. That certainly wasn't our intention, and we appreciate that you have been a valued customer.
If you still have the tobacco and packaging, we would be happy to review photographs of the products and packaging so that we can at least investigate whether there is anything visually unusual that may indicate a product issue.
If you did wish to send this tobacco back for assessment we will gladly take look and if the tobacco is at fault we will let you know however if no faulty can be identified we would not be able to offer any form of refund and the return of the tobacco would be at your own expense. Please contact our customer services team if you wish to return this for assessment?
We sincerely regret that this experience has affected your confidence in Smoke-King. We value the custom you have given us over the years and would very much hope to have the opportunity to restore your confidence in our service.

Outstanding service
Outstanding service, good quality products. I’m a cigar smoker myself, the cigars ordered have clearly been stored correctly, and they are sealed in a humidor bag with a small boveda pack to ensure they do not dry in transit. Orders get picked and packed exceptionally quickly and usually they arrive the next day. I have bought a small humidor along with various other accessories and everything was in quality condition. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.
