Japan node was misconfigured, only partial refund given, support stopped responding
Review – Service Not Delivered as Advertised, Refund Refused
Review:
I purchased a monthly unlimited plan from SocketPro mainly to use the Japan node.
However, during actual use, I discovered that the so-called “Japan” node was not routed through Japan at all, but through Hong Kong. This made the service unusable for my intended purpose. This is not a performance issue, but a service delivery issue, as the server location did not match what was advertised.
I contacted support and clearly explained that the Japan node appeared to be mislabeled or misconfigured. Unfortunately, this key point was never directly addressed. Instead, support repeatedly focused only on usage amount and refund policy, without explaining why a Japan node was routing through a different region.
Despite acknowledging that there was an issue and issuing a small partial refund, SocketPro refused to provide a full refund, citing usage limits — even though the usage was mainly caused by troubleshooting a service that was not functioning as described.
Later responses stated that:
They do not guarantee regional routing accuracy
The partial refund was “final”
If a dispute was raised, they would simply follow the platform process
After I requested a proper re-evaluation based on the misconfigured node, support stopped replying altogether.
In summary:
The advertised Japan node was not delivered as described
Only a minimal partial refund was issued
The core issue was never acknowledged
Communication eventually ceased
I am leaving this review to inform other users so they can make an informed decision before purchasing.
