Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 90 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently complained about terrible customer service, unhelpful automated systems, and frustratingly long wait times on the phone. Many people also experienced constant internet outages, sudden connection drops, and unannounced price increases that made keeping the service very difficult. Though some customers faced major challenges, a few people were happy with helpful technicians who resolved technical issues quickly and professionally. Reviewers mentioned that certain staff members were very knowledgeable and polite when handling billing adjustments or complex equipment repairs. These positive interactions offered a welcome contrast to the widespread technical difficulties.

Lack of support

Called support on the phone. Disconnected after a minimum of 21 minute hold. No call back. Tried chat. No technical support available. Chat can only handle a very narrow script range of customer comments and keeps looping back to the same statements. Had them send a signal to "restart" but that process takes 30 minutes. Over 1 .5hrs now trying to resolve an issue. Two days to get a tech person out.

Tried 6 weeks to get service restored

Tried 6 weeks to get service restored. My house is vacant. Needed for cameras and alarm. I have a property manager. They were told to call when on way. 4 times they ignored. Sent a tech out without calling. Said no one home! FOUR TIMES! Still no internet. Finally had enough. Called to cancel at 7:56 this morning. After 6 different transferred calls, I finally got a real person! At 12:14 the wait was over and they said they would cancel and send final. What a joke! They should send me a check for the 2 months no internet. If you are considering them, RUN!

Garbage ass service

Garbage ass service. Makes it difficult and impossible to cancel services on purpose. It literally shows STEP BY STEP on their website and when you do it, “ manage my account” isn’t even a damn option. Scam and ghetto ass service, never getting Sparklight again. You will regret it

Failure to deliver

Just moved into service area. Previous owner used sparklight, but the service tech "couldn't find" my house to do installation. Appt was set up two weeks ago, and now they want to reschedule me into next week. Guessing the tech didn't want to do the job!

Fast internet speeds, poor customer service with long wait times

I was a customer for 5 years in Lawton OK and Poplar Bluff MO. Overall, their internet worked well and had the best bandwidth I've ever had is why I'm giving 4 stars.

However, there was poor customer service, long wait times, uses ai to answer calls which is never helpful. Confusing websites and phone calls from multiple merging companies. I've noticed that just about all the internet servicers have these same problems though.

Disonnecting on purpose?

Disconnects every 5-10 minutes despite having an unlimited data plan. No warning is given when the time to pay is approaching. Paying doesn't fix the random outages & there's no immediate way to tell whether the bill needs to be paid or it's just another random outage.

Worst reliability- Poor customer service

We have been Sparklight customers since October, 2023. For about the first five months, service was reliable and stable. Since that time, we have had service interruptions occur on average at least twice a week. About a year ago, I began a campaign of voicing my frustrations on social media to no avail, I would just receive generic automated messages asking me to call or DM them. We would occasionally get a call from Sparklight where they would send a service person out and there would be a suppossed "problem at the node"... I ended up filing a complaint with the BBB and service improved from March, 2026 until mid-June 2026 where service interruptions have began to be a daily occurrence again. My provider (Prior to moving out of their service area) we had for 10 years had fewer than five interruptions the whole time. Why can't Sparklight do the same? Besides the CONSTANT service interruptions, the "service charges" on my bill seems to increase for no reason each month. I autopay $50 on the second of each month and yet, three days later, I get a bill for an additional $3.00?

I have had enough of their poor service, I am setting up a new ISP on July 06, 2026. Speeds may be a bit slower, but their reviews are MUCH BETTER!

I couldn't recommend Sparklight to anyone!

My internet kept goint out and I called…

My internet kept goint out and I called and they sent a technician to my home today, his name is Griffin. He brought a new motem & all new cables and connected everything with a smile. He helped me create a new user name & password. Connected my YouTube on my TV, which I could only get on my phone before. He made sure everything worked and tested it all and showed me couple of tools to navagate easier. He was awesome. My only concern is your pricing, it's way too expensive for we seniors. I cant afford TV serice at all, just the internet. Other than that I am very please with your service. I live in Prescott Valley AZ. He was here today June 25, 2026.

Nearly impossible to cancel

Unlike many people here, we didn't have many problems with our internet service. It was fairly stable with maybe a couple of brief outages over the years we used it. The major problem happened when we moved and needed to cancel our service. There is no online cancellation process. I tried the online chatbot to cancel- useless. Instead - call a phone number, navigate through numerous prompts, finally get into a queue to talk to someone, wait for at least 30 minutes to talk to someone in billing. Tell them we are moving only for them to say say, "oh, to cancel you have to talk to someone in loyalty. It's only a nine minute wait." Get back in another queue to talk to someone else. I've been on hold ... so far ... for another 30 minutes. It's the classic customer service loyalty trap. I'd avoid Sparklight for this reason alone. I could cancel every other utility through a simple online form. There's no reason they couldn't do the same. These old school games should be illegal.

Power outages

When the internet actually works it’s great. But for the third time in less than a month, we are dealing with service outages right after announcing an increase in the bill. They can keep it I won't be paying for this horrible service!

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, ridiculous long wait times for anything (over an hour!) unless its to give them more money! And the service was terrible, constant disconnections, crappy tech support, and lies about how they can't help you if you don't have "their" modem, even though it is the exact model modem they use.

I call sparklight this morning because my internet was off. I waited on the phone for 30 minutes. Then got connected to customer service person. I run a online buisness ,so internet is essential. The lady rep told me there was another outage , I told her I cant process payments and orders in my online buisness. She told me they will have internet back this afternoon. We will see. Not thrilled about long wait . Im going to look for a different internet.

SPARKLIGHT SUCKS!!!

I set up a new service with Sparklight for my aging parents. I set everything up online with a representative. I was given a date and time for installation, which i was so happy that it was scheduled for the next day. No technician ever showed up, nor did I receive a phone call or text to reschedule the appointment. I called customer service only to receive a run around about not knowing what happened, nor how to reschedule me, bcs they don't have direct contact with THEIR technicians. I was told someone should be calling me back to get everything situated. No one never called! I called back about 5 days later. I was them at up with another date and time, but no one showed up again! I called back and was given the run around again! I was told that someone would contact me with a new installation date. I had to do a written complaint on their site for someone to reach out to me. I was given an apology and told that a new ticket was being created (2nd time), and that i would receive a call back to tell me when the 3rd installation date would be. Needless to say, I had to call them back again, with no answers AGAIN! A representative finally called me back and set up a new installation date. I finally thought this was it, but no technician arrived for the 3rd time! I decided to go to the nearest Sparklight in person to complain this time. The lady was nice, like all the other customer service representatives. She created a new ticket (3rd time), and tried to set me up for a new installation date, bcs she could tell that I was upset and over it! I just really wanted to do this for my parents, and I couldn't find another company with good tower service where they lived. She couldn't set me up for a new service date right then, bcs the system wouldn't allow her to. She said she would call me the next day. She called me 2 days later with a promise of a new installation date, that was set up for the next day (4th scheduled appointment)... You already know how it went, NO TECHNICIAN SHOWED UP! This has been the worst company experience I have ever had with a supposedly reputable company...
