Buyer Beware: Specialist Cars UK - A Nightmare Experience
After painstakingly saving up for our dream car, my partner and I finally decided to make our purchase from Specialist Cars UK. Despite encountering a few negative reviews during our research, we chose to trust Aron and his team with our hard-earned £53k for a Porsche. Little did we know, this would mark the beginning of a horrendous ordeal.
Within 4 weeks after driving off the lot, the dreaded gearbox fault light illuminated on our £53k purchase. Naturally, we reached out to Specialist Cars UK, hoping for some semblance of customer service. Instead, we were met with dismissiveness and a blatant attempt to deflect responsibility onto the warranty company.
Despite following their instructions and filing a claim with the warranty, we were left high and dry to the tune of £3k out of pocket for a new gearbox. While the warranty covered a portion of the exorbitant cost, it was a mere drop in the ocean compared to the financial burden thrust upon us.
To add insult to injury, when we confronted Specialist Cars UK about our predicament, they had the audacity to deny any record of our initial complaint. However, we have concrete evidence of our attempts to communicate with them, making their gaslighting tactics all the more despicable.
In addition to their abysmal customer service, it's evident that Specialist Cars UK fails to uphold their end of the bargain when it comes to the quality of their vehicles. Despite purported checks and assurances, it's clear that they prioritize profit over integrity, selling defective cars with little regard for the well-being of their customers.
In conclusion, heed our warning: steer clear of Specialist Cars UK at all costs. Save yourself the stress, the financial burden, and the disappointment. Don't be lured in by their slick sales tactics or false promises. Your dream car shouldn't turn into a waking nightmare, and Specialist Cars UK is all too eager to make that a reality.

We have received very poor service from…
We have received very poor service from Specialist Cars Nissan Aberdeen, we purchased 67 plate X-Trail on 30/11/21, it only had 12k on clock and aesthetically was in great condition. Sadly after only a few weeks the EML came on, car in, no courtesy car available, got car back, light came bk on days after, this happened twice. No courtesy car available either time.
Both times it was an EGR fault,
Third time light came on they replaced the EGR valve, again no courtesy car available.
Following getting the car back I received Nissan survey, now as you can see from reading I’m pretty reasonable and understanding but I was getting to the point where enough was enough. I returned the survey, giving an honest account of our reoccurring problem and the poor service, from them having our car for long periods, having to chase for information, leaving messages and nobody getting bk to us. Not getting a courtesy car was one of the biggest issues, now we required an automatic for my wife so I understand there not as common but still very poor service.
Off the bk of my returned survey the service manager called the very next day, offering moving forward to drop of courtesy car and pick car up from our home should the car need to be looked at and a few other perks, I imagine to get us bk on side. It’s funny that I’d received a survey every time the car had been in and as soon as I return one giving not great scores, I have not received one again.
We were good for about 2 months then light came bk on,
in for a 4th time, EGR valve again.this saga continues and car has had 4 EGR valves in 16months. I’d like to add that they were true to their word, they did collect car and leave courtesy car the following 2 times.
3-4 months has passed with no issue until 01/06/23, light came bk on again, now as previously mentioned one of the perks the service manager came up with was, if we had any issues moving forward, contact him directly and he would sort us out asap.
So on 01/06/23 I tried to call, then emailed, he said to leave it with him and he would get bk to me, few days pass, nothing so I emailed again, received “out of office “ on email.
I emailed again and we received a call 14/06/23, they couldn’t look at car until 14/07/23. It was raised with service manager about car pick up, drop off and that we required automatic. So on evening of13/07/23 we receive call, notified that they don’t have enough drivers, could we take car in, not end of the world I suppose.wife takes car up, to be told there’s no automatic car been booked.I was working in Dundee , so she had to get a taxi home .
I like to be truthful so I will add that when I called to confirm with service manager that it would not adversely affect my warranty if I were to get a third party garage to run diagnostics and to also voice my frustration that 6 weeks to get car in to be looked at was ridiculous, he offers the option for me to bring car in for a waiting appointment the weekend before 14/07/23, unfortunately I was working and my partner was away on a Henny.
I did comment that based on history it was very unlikely issue would be resolved with an 1hr waiting appointment .
So hence me leaving this review car dropped 14/07/23, we’re on 19/07/23 still no courtesy car or idea when we will get car back.
Very disappointing service, I have learned my lesson that it does not pay to be nice and reasonable, I’ve let this go on for far too long!
It is now 21/08/23, car has been at specialist cars since 14/07/23, and other than being asked how it’s normally driven, speed, duration of journey etc, we are no further on, very disappointing!
Be careful

I don’t normally like to slate people of but after my experience and sending the Buisness a lengthy message and no reply I just felt I had to leave a review,I purchased a x3 m via a part x did the deal after x2 lengthy journeys 2 days later washing the car I noticed there was different colour between the 2 passenger doors at the bottom also looking at the door gaps they were bigger at the top to the bottom,I called the garage and there response was there is nothing recorded and then next reply was well you viewed the car you should of noticed this well what a answer when you are as spending 55k,They agreed to return my car with money I spent on the part x and they did next day,After this I did a in depth search on the net and I did find some hidden history on the x3 m anyway I am still financially out of pocket which I’m not happy about which I will be taking further all I say is people do your checks when buying a car from these guys
Mini Sytner Stevenage - Nikki Charlie and George were all…
Nikki Charlie and George were all excellent in the purchase of our JCW Convertible, especially Nikki who despite it being her first sale - was a consumate and knowledgeable professional throughout … no sales pressure - she just did what was right for me and found the perfect balance - which is the highest compliment I can pay a salesperson - well done and thank you! I’m sure we will back in the future!
I put my Mercedes by appointment on…
I put my Mercedes by appointment on Sept1into Renault for a diagnostic from merc themselves…..66 days later I am waiting for my car back. Merc did a health check to find suspension strut badly fitted, crumbling rear brake pads and scoured discs.rear wheels tread marginal not to mention original fault ems light warning…..the whole saga has been a nightmare and if and when my car is returned it better be 100% or I won’t take it back and btw they serviced and Mot the car prior to me picking it up…….what a joke!
Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever. No interest in you as a customer.
Bought a second hand car from David
Bought a second hand car from David. The car is good, the service excellent. Car serviced on time and prepared to a high standard.
I bought a BMW 640 and had it serviced too.
having leased "quality" cars from the big 3 German manufactuers for 24 years, this was at best average, with most offering a poor experience despite the cars being new and none cheap. I was therefore wary of having to buy my own 2nd hand car and then service it. I went for a less common model which I found at specialist BMW in stevenage and have to say I am so impressed with Jason and the service team. They have been brilliant and nothing was too much. great car, great service, great experience - thank you
Specialist motors are fair,honest and…
Specialist motors are fair, honest and they’ve put my dad first since his purchase,Not a company that has a sales led predilection toward Sell,Sell,Sold, you no longer matter,It’s good the products they offer post sale.
A lot of companies could learn from this concept, short term thinkers.
If I owned a car sales firm I’d want the cars bought from me or my company to be considered firstly at least in the future, but that takes incentives, you will get them from Specialist cars.
This props are to the Aberdeen branch Dacia/Renault.
It’s a fair review this one
Car Service.
My car was serviced yesterday in a very efficient manner and on time. I was sent a text with a video summary by the engineer and telephoned when the car was ready - washed and cleaned inside.
The (near) Tring garage is modern and spacious and the staff always courteous.

Picked up my first BMW at the weekend
Picked up my first BMW at the weekend, thank you so much to Lee Wadsworth for his advice and knowledge. No pushy sales, nothing was a problem for Lee. Would highly rate the brand and Specialist Cars.

Wasn’t prepared for a cold reception
A very disappointing main Mini dealer experience, having driven 1.5hrs for a scheduled appointment to test drive a used MiNI only to find the car was not prepared and had a Flat Tyre! which the sales rep reluctantly agreed to such a basic error.
Following this I struggled to get any accurate details of the car where the young lady attempted to avoid safety measures the car clearly needed work on prior to be driven.
Unprofessional service, strongly advise avoiding this dealership.

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Booked my car in for a waiting service appointment for 9am. Got there at 8.45am and checked the car in. At 9.35 my car is still sitting outside exactly where I parked it. No update from staff on why or what the reason for delay is. Why bother with a waiting appointment if there is no sense of urgency / communication whatsoever from the dealership. V poor customer service, avoid.
